  1. It takes time. It took me 10 months to feel what I would say was better. I have been gluten-free for over a year and I am still not back to 100%. I was convinced I had other problems because it was taking soooo long to see improvement. Everyone is different and I hope you heal quickly. If you don't seem better right away don't worry, you will. It just takes...
  2. I struggled with the decision of whether or not to put my 4 year old through an endoscopy. I decided to do it mainly because she was asymptomatic and her celiac was picked up on a screen. I really didn't want her later in life to question whether or not she really has celiac. I wanted definite proof for her based on the gold standard. I DO realize the blood...

  5. Anyone have a really good cupcake recipe???
  6. I had no Gastric symptoms at all and it was not until I was 38 that I got really sick with neurological problems and rapid weight loss. My endoscopy revealed COMPLETE villious atrophy. Hindsight being what it is, I can probably blame many unexplained miscarriages on celiac but that the is the only other symptom I showed.
  7. We do not care for Ians chicken nuggets. They do not have alot of flavor. The fish sticks are very good. I like Annies rasperry vinegrette.
  8. I have 2 girls who showed no signs of celiac. I was diagnosed last year and I struggled with this question. I did go ahead and had them tested. My 4 year old came back postive both with bloodwork and her biopsy. I am hoping that by catching it this early she will avoid the problems I have experienced. I am glad I had her tested and she is coping with the...

  10. I had DH for 20 years that drs kept telling me was excema.... Last year I came down with severe nerve problems in my arms and legs and a bunch of other stuff. We tested for celiac as a shot in the dark. My Ttg level was 187, and my endoscopy showed complete villious atrophy with NO GI sympyoms whatsoever!!! I wish I was diagnoses on DH alone. If I caught...
  11. Start with the basics. Nothing processed. Plain meats, fruit, vegetables, rice. You might want to limit dairy for awhile. Once you start feeling better there are processed foods that are safe. There are many threads on this board that will help you. This is a great place for help. Lots of experience to offer you advice. Stick with the diet. It will work...

  13. The only ingredient that is suspicious is the natural flavoring.

  17. It's been 10 months for me and I am just now saying that I am feeling better. I am still not feeling 100% but hopefully will eventually. It was awhile before I had more good days than bad. Hang in there. It is a slow process. Be patient and stick to the diet. It might take awhile but you will feel better. Fatigue was one of my main symptoms. Give your body...
  18. Hi Everyone, I have been gluten free for 10 months and am just starting to feel like my old self again. However yesterday I started to have fluttering sensations in my stomach and throat and when this happens my heart seems to skip a beat. It is still happenimg today. Does anyone think this could be celiac or gluten related, I don't think I had any but...
  19. I also like Betty Hagmans. It is made by Authentic Foods. It is more expensive than if you buy all the flours and mix yourself but it is very convienent and tastes good. The only thing extra I do is to add 1/2 tsp or so of xantham gum to my recipe. It makes great tea bisciuts.
  20. Really...... YEAH !
  21. Add a cup of chocolate chips to those peanut butter cookies......They are sooooo good !
  22. You may not have been eating gluten long enough for damage to show on bloodwork. After being gluten-free it is recomended to go back to eating gluten for 3 months before being tested. You might want to try again in a couple of months!
  23. Of course the obvious...fruit salad, veggies etc... Other ideas are mixted nuts with raisins, banana pudding made with dairy free milk, popcorn, fruit snacks, lillle smokie sausages, hot dogs sliced up on toothpicks, or meatballs etc. That is all I can think of now. I am sure others will have some great ideas. Hope this helps.
  24. OK I made the pizza and it was....OK.... It was really sticky and I added more rice flour so I could knead it. It turned out kind of dry but that may have been my fault. It was great to have pizza again, even if it was a little dry. I will try again without adding so much extra flour.
