ARCHIVED My Doc Thinks I Have CeliacSueC replied to Lena's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms OK...You sound like a classic celiac.. If I knew nothing but"I feel better when I stop eating gluten" I would say yes to celiac but you have soooo many more classic symptoms. Please do not stop eating gluten until you are tested. It can give a false negative. There is gluten in so many things you would never expect so maybe your attack was caused by something...

ARCHIVED Please Help! Could This Be Cd?SueC replied to Jocelyn357's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms A positive dietary response is a big indicator for celiac. I say keep on with the diet but if you want a positive diagnosis via Enterolab you need to be back on gluten for a couple of months.

ARCHIVED Test ResultsSueC replied to Sasquatch's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Your values are only minimally high so maybe you don't see the effects yet. Yes a high TSH means low thyroid function and you need to keep an eye on your levels. There are also exceptions to every rule so you might be a thin person with hypothyroidism. I would get the full thyroid panel done....free t3, free t4, and another TSH. There are other thyroid tests...

ARCHIVED Very Unexpected Biopsy Today!SueC replied to Annette723's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms A GI doc can sometimes tell by looking at the folds in your small bowel if it is celiac. My doc was pretty sure I had it without the biopsy results. Maybe he thought it looked suspicious and took some samples.

ARCHIVED Please Help! Could This Be Cd?SueC replied to Jocelyn357's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Hi Jocelyn, Welcome! Yep..... ALL your symptoms sound like celiac disease!! If nothing else your skin rash is concerning. It sounds like DH but of course can't be sure without a biopsy. I had DH for years while doc after doc told me it was exzema........ If you don't have the money for testing try the diet. If it works and makes you feel...

ARCHIVED Ham Flavored SeasoningSueC replied to JacobsMom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Everything looks ok to me. The caramel color should be fine if the seasoning is made in the USA. But if I can't find out the answer for sure on this board I always call the company. They are usually very happy to check into it for you.

ARCHIVED Getting Under ControlSueC replied to MySage's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I would carefully rescreen EVERYTHING she is eating, but it just might be taking awhile for her level come down. My level dropped from 187 to 25 in 3 months but kids just might take longer. If you are certain that she is 100% gluten-free I would ask for another screen in 3 months and see where it is. But the good news is it is coming down, and she is doing...
