Kasey's mom - I will DEFINATELY be asking about the prenatal vitamins! With everything else to worry about (tiredness, queeziness, moodswings) c is one I could do without! Luckily fresh fruits are something that is tasting good to me....I've been eating a lot of pinapple as a snack and I've heard that too about bananas so I will stay away from that! Skarlet...

Twister - Congratulations! YOU must be excited! You only have a few more days to go! Is this your first? You have to let us know how everything goes! I will try the grapes! And what is colace? Is it safe to use while you are pregnant?

Thank you all for your suggestions! It is my first baby so I'm pretty new at all of this! I will definately try the flax seed meal (I can buy that at our grocery store) and I was going to order some of my kinnikinnick staples today anyway so I will look into ordering some of their whole grain breads too! I will also talk to my doctor about maybe putting...

Hi Guys! It really happened, we are going to have a baby! I'm so excited! And still a little in shock! I just went to the doctor last week.....they said I am definatly pregnant and the baby is due June 5th! So far everything has been pretty good...the only thing I'm craving is cranberry juice (drinking a whole jug every day) and luckily that...

Hi All! I suppose it isn't a celiac question, but I have talked to you all before and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I went in for an exam before we started ttc, partly because I had had some pain and partly because I wanted to have a check up to see that everything was ok. She had me...

skbird and Jen The Lupron is for the treatment of endometriosis and after your last dose it takes about 2 months to get over it and it's back to normal periods and no more hot flashes. For me it was a godsent, I was only 20 and not even dating anyone much less ready for a family. They were conserned that my fertility was at stake. It's not a cure all... -

With me it's sortof just a dull aching in my thighs that almost feels numb and tingly sometimes. I wish I knew what caused it, it only happens when I'm having really bad cramps. The funny thing is my husband complains of something similar when he is hung over.....I just tell him to try having really bad cramps at the same time! -

I've had a lot of endo problems and I always get the leg cramps too! Most people don't know what I'm talking about with those! They suck!! You should really think about seeing your gynecologist about those cramps. I used to get them so bad that every month I would lay on the bathroom floor only getting up long enough to throw up. I had surgery for the... -

I don't remember where I read it, but I have heard that it is common for women with Celiac disease to also have problems with endometriosis and cysts. I have had both and it can definatley be painful. You might want to ask your doctor if this is a possibility. -

I had never seen a picture of df. I had suspected that the itchy, painful bumps I got on my hand and on my elbows was df, considering that they seem to correspond with my digestive woes, but I wasn't sure. But oh yeah...that's it! I get it really bad on just one little triangular spot above my left ring finger. When I got married (before I was diagnosed... -
I myself have not had experienced phantom smells, but I have an epileptic friend who claims to always smell cucumbers before she has a seizure. You mentioned partial seizure in your post....what is a partial seizure? Do you have any history of epilepsy? It is a blessing for my friend too, because when she smells cucumbers she knows to get to somewhere...

ARCHIVED Celiac Sprue? What's In The Name?
cgilsing replied to ms-sillyak-screwed's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't know...I don't really like the tropical part. It sortof sounds to me like I have some disease carried by mosquitos and monkeys! Or like I had a bad water experience in central America or something! -
To the men reading this: I hope you guys don't really think that the women on this board are unhappy with their men or consider them to be jerks incapable of caring or support. My husband is the best support I have. He has been a partner for me in this disease. He knows just as much about it as I do and watches out for my diet on an equal level. He...

It really is a shame that doctors aren't more aware of celiac disease! I have had problems as well with doctors. After years of suffering my mom was the one that suggested Celiac disease as a possible cause. I went in and told my doctor about my family history (great-grandmother, grandmother, aunt and two uncles) of celiac disease. She looked at me blank...

Maya! We are all here to support each other....they are fine...just having a conversation! We have all gained so much knowledge and support from our friends on this board because we can say what we want to without feeling uncomfortable. Feel free to post about anything you want to! We are all here to help each other and we love hearing from new friends...

Oh! I'm so sorry that there hasn't been more advice! I wish I could help you more too! I don't know how practical it is, but have you considered stocking up on products shipped from the states? You said that you had already visited Hong Kong....Do they list the ingredients on products like they do in the U.S.? Surely, there are rice based products that...

I agree with Tarnalberry that in some instances it is just easier for everyone to eat gluten-free (such as in the case of pasta for dinner), but otherwise there is no need to force everyone to go 100% gluten free. My husband and I have seperate snacks for instance. He has Ritz crakers, whole wheat bread, and beer while I have nut thin crakers, home made...

Anya- Good luck TTC! My husband and I are going to start trying next month as well. We have been working up the nerve to try for quite a while now, but after an inconclusive test last month we were both surprisingly disappointed to find out I wasn't pregnant. So we decided that now is the time! I've been gluten free for about a year and feel pretty...

The gas -x I have used was the gell cap things.....it's been quite a while since I had them since they didn't work for me anyway, but I'm pretty sure that they were gluten-free...I am definatly going to try the peppermint oil and the ginger! Thanks! I'll check it out! -
Hey Everybody! Does anyone know of anything that can offer temporary relief from the bloating? Sometimes I just feel like if someone stuck a pin in me I'd pop! I've even been asked if I was pregnant before! I've tried gas-x which doesn't seem to do anything at all....If any of you have any advice I'd really appriciate it! Thanks!

ARCHIVED Wal-mart Going Gf
cgilsing posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Have any of you heard anything about Wal-Mart carrying a new line of gluten-free products? I talked to my mom yesterday and she said her neighbor had read an article that said Wal-Mart was going to start carrying gluten-free products, and that they were going to require the wal-mart brand products to be clearly labled as gluten free or not. If it's true... -
Wow, I never even thought about that....I've seen pictures of myself as a kid with a deep dark tan and suddenly as a teenager I was totally incabable of tanning...I've just embraced my white skin and don't even try. I tried going to a tanning bed before my wedding and ended up with a burn so bad I couldn't even open my eyes after just 7 minutes. I've been...
