  1. In my experience, I think that a homeopathic doctor who does not strictly follow classical training might be helpful if they offer lab tests such as EAV test for food and environmental assessment, and EAV test for organ assessment. I had this test done as part of my initial visit. What I liked about my experience with the homeopathic doctor is that they took...
  2. I've also had very positive experiences working with "alternative" medicine practioners. If you are interested in discovering food and environmental intolerances or sensitivities without invasive tests or treatment, I would recommend doing a google search for a NAET practioner in your area. Sometimes Osteopaths can use applied kinesiology to also test for...
  3. Truly, my experience is not false. If I slipped up in my diet while I was breastfeeding, (I kept a journal) I would spend the night rubbing tummies, backs, cleaning up vomit and changing diapers that couldn't contain what they should have. I haven't intended to offend - I just wonder if there is still science that hasn't been discovered yet, because this...
  4. Enzymes only seemed to work for a few months.
  5. I'm not saying this to create conflict...I have found with personal experience breast feeding my children...what you eat, ends up in your milk. One little slip up in MY diet, would result in vomiting, rashes, gi distress in my son. And I think with that being said, all the grain sludge that cows consume, inevitably ends up in their milk. IF you are sensitive...
  6. I second what MitziG & Cara have suggested. Great ideas. ...and I am so glad to hear of other mom's who are following their instincts, looking for ROOT cause, and encouraging their children to eat REAL food. If your little one is ill - something is out of balance in their body. Pediasure is not natural - so I wonder how can it assist the body...
  7. Are there any other symptoms besides the stomach pain? Teeth grinding at night? Itchiness? A cough that seems to come and go?
  8. If you were interested :Nordic Naturals has a strawberry flavoured (natural) capsule we like - and it's good quality - doesn't go rancid like others we have tried.
  9. I think you're on the right track, and it sounds like your children are getting a great supply of vitamins. Lucky kids! There are so many gluten free flours to play with in baking that I don't believe they'll be missing anything (nutritionally) that they would have gotten previously, eating wheat. Besides vitamins, have you considered Omegas? Their brains...
  10. I think coconut milk is brilliant, especially when compared to the chemicals that are added to pediasure. And, when meeting with the nutritionist, be armed with information. There is still a lot of misinformation about grains and dairy being essential, even among many nutritionists. People sometimes panic when they're outside their comfort zone. Been down...
  11. Non-chlorinated & non-fluoridated water. MUCH gentler on the tummy than treated tap water.
  12. I suspect that the only way to get better in Poland would be to eat only PURE foods? Absolutely nothing from a jar, box or tin. My boys also ask for spring water (without chlorine or fluoride) when they've been glutened, and are recovering. I wonder how "treated" the tap water is in Poland. Now for Windhoek, Namibia? What kind of fresh produce is available...

    ARCHIVED Ttc

Horsemom Welcome to the forum, and I am hopeful for you ... In hindsight, after trying to start our family for years, and suffering loss (ectopic pregnancy)...I finally got pregnant again when I was on vacation, eating fresh veggies, fruit and lots of fish. I carried my little gluten sensitive guy to term. Since being glutenfree, my cycles have...
  14. My little guy too. And he also walked late. Both talking and crawling picked up after he was glutenfree. He used to need to be picked up all the time - probably too achy to move. Mobility was the first to significantly improve, and the language too, although language has lagged. There have been vast improvements in the last two months (he is 3 1/2 ). Small...

    ARCHIVED Tiredness

What about eliminating all grains? Including corn. I only mention this from personal experience - I was still reacting to corn gluten, but didn't know it. I stopped eating it just to prove to myself (and my sister who suggested it - she is celiac) that it was NOT affecting me. I've had no desire to test it by eating it again, as I feel so good off of it...
  16. When you mentioned Poland, it reminded me of shopping recently at our local grocery store (Canada) and reading the ingredients of bottled beets (from Poland), and the label indicated that the fructose? (I think it was fructose) was rerived from wheat. I remember being surprised - these were not "pickled" beets. Sneaky, sneaky wheat.
  17. My boys have also had food sensitivities beyond wheat & dairy - it made my food journaling experience such a frustrating one! I became fanatic about everything I ingested. At one point I was only eating "Free From..." chicken, organic rice and broccoli. Finally, we broke down and saw a NAET practitioner, and started getting answers. Root cause. Their...
  18. My youngest (who spurred the whole gluten/dairy free diet in our family) had many symptoms that led me to try the elimination diet when breastfeeding (I bf until he was 2 yrs). Whenever I slipped up, he would pay the price with vomiting, constipation or the opposite, writhing in pain, and rashes that turned into open sores in any given location - head to...
  19. I can't recall ever using amaranth for cookies or muffins. I just looked over my fav recipe cards, and I guess my "go to" flours for desserts are sorghum, almond, and pumpkin. I'd like to hear how your amaranth experiment goes with desserts (cookies, muffins).
  20. Enjoy Life makes a good chocolate chip, and chocolate nibs. gluten-free/df/nutfree. Miss Vickie's makes a good potato chip too, for a snack - I tell myself because they're made with sea salt, it's ok, and healthy. Rice cakes (with sea salt - ha!)are good bedtime snack for me, now that I have given up my beloved popcorn. Honestly, I miss my popcorn...
  21. I personally detest rice flour in my bread, but use it for some other baking recipes. For my bread, I use (out of three cup flour mix) 1 1/2 C. sorghum.....not more than 1/4 C. amaranth (I find it good in small quantities) and 1 cup (or less) of starch such as potato OR tapioca, but not both. And offset the rest of the recipe with either millet, or buckwheat...
  22. The first day after getting glutened, one parent stays home with my oldest (who goes to school). After that, if he needs more time to recover we are fortunate enough to have grandma (also gluten free) take care of him, until he no longer has stomach pain/nausea and fever. My youngest goes to daycare and doesn't seem to be as sensitive...and our daycare provider...
  23. I find that colloidal silver and Nordic Naturals Omegas help my boys when they've been struck down. We too, have turned to homeopathics and consume organics when at all possible. We are a gluten and dairy free household, and have seen dramatic improvements with all the aforementioned changes in our lifestyle. Boy, was life different before!
  24. I am so sorry to hear your news. Love and light to this child. From my personal (yet relatively new) experiences and success with homeopathy, I have come across youtube videos and articles about successful treatment of brain tumours with homeopathic remedies. I just wanted to gently toss the idea out there in the event that your family may wish to explore...
