    ARCHIVED Vacation

I make the trip to Florida every year too. There are mostly fast food and buffet type restaurants on the interstates. Stay away from paces that have buffets, they are never a good idea. Careful at fast food places. I always pack a cooler for me. If you have something you want heated, use a microwave at a gas stop. They all have them now. If you do...
  2. Absolutely Yes. Dogs tend to give kisses on the face, cats lick their fur, son touches and bam. You really need her to use gluten free pet foods. And it's healthier for the pets too. Colleen
  3. Well, I did it all by myself. Hubs was in the kitchen making his lunch, Chinese generals chicken or something (he's not gluten-free). So he's done and I go in to fix my lunch. As always, I start with wiping down the counters. On one counter, a few pieces of his rice stuff had fallen off his plate so I pick up the few pieces with one hand and continue...

  5. Okay, I must say this is a topic I feel I am an expert in. Time to break out the big guns. First, NO dairy, not even a bite of cheese, until you are regular again. Second, there are many teas, some were suggested, to drink regularly, when you have it under control, as well as water etc. Third, one stool softener a day may keep you regular. Now...

  8. My husband is really the perfect dream husband. Last night he made us salmon cakes, red potatoes and his special corn (he adds milk and sugar). He used Kentucky kernal seasoned flour for the salmon cakes (gluten-free). He also uses that stuff for fried chicken. Then brownies topped with cherry ice cream and whipped cream. Am I lucky or what. Tonight...

  10. Thanks for the thoughts guys. Makes me feel good. Just finished a hugh spinach and kale salad topped with egg, cheese, bacon, sunflower seeds and ranch dressing. My favorite thing in the world to eat. Speaking of Alfredo, I remembered after I read it that I have chicken that I tucked into the freezer. Have my Thai rice noodles and Alfredo sauce. ...
  11. Where did you get the dancing one you don't even know how our conversation helped me. I was smiling all weekend!! I'm dancing too, you just can't see it, lol. 2 fruits, 2 vegies and meat, light on the beef and work up to 30 minutes a day of aerobic. I can do that that

  16. Last night my Hubs Mother died. At the same time my Hubs brothers wife's Dad died. This morning 26 students and personnel died in Connecticut. Every hour a person dies of Melanoma. Every day innocent people give in to the lords call to come home. I have a candle lit to help show the way to heaven for these innocent people. I am so saddened with...
  17. Okay. Two things I have had in that area are periformis syndrome. This is the muscle that runs across the top half of you butt. Hurts to hold a position long and hurts to change that position. Sacroilitis can go along with the periformis thing. They can both be aggrevated by muscle strain and inflammation. they can also send the pain going up to mid...
  18. Two tests I would suggest are the full thyroid test ( not just tsh but free t3's and t4's ) and a test for Addison's. These are both autoimmune diseases just like celiac. Good luck. Colleen
  19. Alot of my depression and anxiety developed early when I still lived with my family. Around 20 the mental health issues ramped up. Did some heavy drinking during those years. First miscarriage in 1990, first child born in 1993 (also when hypo hit). Second child in 1995. I always had a problem with constipation since teens. After pregnancies all the digestion...

  21. The pain high in your chest and through to the back is very typical of acid indigestion. It can be in the stomach and climb into the esophageal area. Have you looked at spicy or acidic foods to see if they might be the culprit. I hope your able to resolve it soon Best of luck, Colleen
