  1. Celiac is not an allergy, it is an autoimmune disease.
  2. I have suffered with psychatric issues since teenage years. I understand your thinking getting off the meds. Some you can lower doses but you may still need a bit extra to get thru. You may want to research some mood stabizers. They can be effective, especially since you feel you are not depressed. Fish Oil is a natural mood stabilizer. Lentra is...
  3. Hi there. I have had migraines thru my life too. The migraine meds never worked for me. I take a benydril go to the darkest room in the house, lay down, and Irish Heart recently had me add an ice pack behind the neck. A very good addition I might add. Eventually when I fall asleep I have to stay asleep at least 5 hours minimum. Any less and it's still...
  4. Here is the expanded description of the drug including side effects and interactions. Open Original Shared Link Take a look. This type of thing also happened to me recently. I saw different doc for tests. The last doc, a cardiologist, made the connection to the drug I was taking. All is better. Hang in there.
  5. IMHO. Do not eat the burger, get one on lettuce.
  6. I just read an article on this. Wheatgrass is gluten free BUT, the farmer growing the wheatgrass has to cut it just before it starts to seed. Mistakes can be made, unexperienced workers, carelessness. It's scares me. I was taking a multiple vitamin, I was still getting gluten somewhere, I checked the vitamin, it has wheat grass. I'm having less migraines...
  7. A different opinion for you. I've been on psych meds most of my life as well as had celiac symptoms most of my life. Going gluten free helped me tremendously with all gi issues and migraine. On the other hand my mental health issues have not changed. I am bi-polar, severe depression, ptsd, anxiety, etc. I think alot of people get relief if symptoms are...
  8. I would bet the new miss kitty will be happily sleeping with mom and pooch in no time.
  9. My maniac cat never like canned food either. He goes in and outdoors and unfortunately brings his snacks to the door. Bats, moles, small birds and an occasional frog. He freaks me out
  10. Dang IH, you pulled a memory from my brain. When I was a child, my friends mom always made whoopie pies. I would eat them of course and not be hungry for dinner. So my mom pinned a note on the back of my shirts that said 'do not feed' she told me it said 'you are loved'. She never told me about that until I had my own kids and we laughed hysterically...
  11. My husband has Addison's and as of yet there is no quick saliva tests that can measure cortisol levels through the day. That would be a Godsend to addisonians around the world. These are the facts as I understand them. This autoimmune disease can also only be dx' thru blood test. The adrenals can be in different stages of distress. I would also...
  12. Just a few thoughts for you. The dizzyness standing ECT, may be symptom of syncope. There are a few different types. There is an easy test for it from your doctor. You mentioned your. Cortisol level. Was your MD Doctor concerned with this. There is an autoimmune disease called Addison's, also can be tested with a blood test. I agree with IH. I...

    ARCHIVED Columbus, Ohio

Hi Bridges. I know of a doctor at OSU that is an expert in Celiac. He has classes, seminars etc. He also takes patients. He was very highly recommended by my rheumatologist, I am just north of you. As you probably know OSU is a teaching hospital complex so they stay extremely current with there services. Just go to the OSU Medical Centers Site and...
  15. Thanks. I also take my Probiotic first thing in the morning. I take my Papyra Enzymes if my stomach is a bit sore. They are quite mild on me. The papyra also works for my son who also has stomach issues. He takes after me in sooooooooo many ways, which may not be a good thing Thanks again!

  17. It makes perfect sense then why you are feeling this way. I'm so glad he has found good employment now. It's so hard in these times. Hang in there
  18. I have never heard that these can't be taken together. Can you post a source? Or am I the last to find out Thanks.
  19. Hi Kitty. There is actually a term for what you are doing. It's catastrophising. As in catastrophic thinking patterns. On the severe side, the scenario plays in you head over and over with different but bad endings. It can effect the nervous system. Anxiety, depression, emotional outbursts like crying, upset stomach, etc. The reasons for...
  20. Another thought for you. The supplement Biotin is for hair growth. Also for stronger hand and toe nails. Good luck
  21. Thanks IH, I know it will be tough for awhile, but I will get there.

Yup, I remember Planked salmon Aspargus Baked potato Cesar salad, no croutons It was delicious I've also had their Sirloin, very tasty. The waitress even asked if we wanted the bread on the table.
  23. I'm curious about the yawning, I yawn constantly, like I need a deep breath but can't get it. I hope I'm not hijacking this thread.
  24. Just a thought for you. If you have had any malabsorbtion issues in the past, could you now be absorbing more, and thus absorbing more of the thyroid meds? I hope you can resolve the vertigo. Good luck.
  25. There was a thread awhile ago about this. Since I take all my vitamins I add Biotin. It's a supplement someone suggested for hair. Good luck.
