Someone posted a question asking if anyone felt cold. I cannot find the original post. Yes, I am always cold. I live in Arizona and when it is 68 outside, I have on a long sleeve T and a flannel shirt or a heavier jacket and my hands and feet are still ice cold. I wear boots with knee high socks and sometimes even put on silk long underwear. I have been...

ARCHIVED Could I Be Anymore Pathetic
mouse replied to Firegirl43's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks Linda. I did not cry because I am going to make this as soon as possible. My egg white and corn allergies make me itch. If I have them too often then I wheeze. I will make absolutely sure I have neither for many days before. You have really made my day. -
ARCHIVED Could I Be Anymore Pathetic

I said I was through posting and here I am. I get teary when I pass a Long John Silver's. I miss fish and chips. Even tho I have tried to make them for the last two years - they are just not fish and chips that I miss and love. Now the comment that made me write. I have a gluten free kitchen including pasta and all flours. The only thing that is gluten... -
MSFL The book "Dangerous Grains" is a great idea. I have bought so many to give out to doctors', friends and people who need to read it. I have 4 on order right now. I know money is tight for you at the moment. If you would email me with an address where I can send you the book (when it arrives), I will send it to you ASAP. The knowledge in there...

MSFL The recommendation for Pedialyte is a good one. You can get it at any drugstore and it is an over the counter liquid. I existed on that for one month. My husband dried up the supply at every drug store within a 10 mile radius. I could not even keep dry toast down. The drug stores do have a generic brand that is cheaper, but I threw it up - so...

Hi Karen, It still will not let me change my name and quote to a different color. I tried the A and picked a color . But NaDa. I must be doing something else wrong.
-
How do I add color and change the font, etc. I have tried everything and I can't get it to take it. And if my other info does not show after I post this, then how do I also do that. Thanks. Armetta

I don't know why all of this anger is coming into play on this thread - but stop it. This forum is suppose to be helping ALL of us. It does not matter what nationality we are, what color skin, what jobs we have, what religion we believe in, or what religion we do not believe in. We are not here to judge, but to help. We all have expierenced personal anger...

Canadian Karen is 100% right about your checking EVERYTHING. Even something as simple as an over the counter headache tablet can contain gluten. I learned about L-Glutamine on this forum and I still take one a day just in case I accidentaly get glutened. I was taking three a day to help heal the small intestine and it helped a lot. It takes time to stop...

Right before my diagnosis (almost 2 years ago), I also went to the emergency room with dehydration and was told I was having anxiety attacks. I was down over 50 pounds and was almost in a fetal position. I could not even keep pedia-lite down, let alone a bannana. I don't know why, but when I first read this post, something did not ring right with me. ...

ARCHIVED What Are Your Favorite Things From "whole Foods" ?
mouse replied to kathy1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I like the Kinninnick bread better then the Whole Foods brand, but my Whole Foods stopped stocking the K brand to make room in the freezer for theirs. I do like the Apple Pies, but they have been out of the Blueberry when we have gone. It is also a trip for us and so we only go once a month. I will have to remember to call first and order the Blueberry... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Used A Cookie Press?
mouse replied to anerissara's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Well, I guess I screwed that up. I don't know how to quote and ask something. Sorry about that. I was trying to get GF4Life's sugar cookie receipe and where did you find spritz cookie dough? Thanks. Armetta -
My husband and I went to Las Vegas over Christmas. We stayed at the Mirage. They have a new restaurant in the hotel that had opened a couple of days before we arrived. IT IS FANTASTIC. The name of the restaurent is STACK. I stopped and talked to the General Manager Corey Nyman and the Manager Bryan Scott. I did this around 4:00 pm before they opened...

ARCHIVED Las Vegas Celiac Support Group Active Again!
mouse replied to jendenise's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
We are going to Las Vegas for Christmas. Any info on restaurants that are helpful to gluten-free would be great. We are staying at the Mirage, but my usual staple - Kokomos will be closed. I already started a list of recommendations from Broncobux. Armetta -
I need a doctor in Mesa, Chandler or Scottsdale, Arizona, that KNOWS about celiac disease. I live in Gold Canyon, AZ. I have already been diagnosed 21 months ago by blood test. But, I am having some issues and need to know if this is what I should be expieriencing (sp) at this time. The doctor who diagnosed me tells me he does not have the time to learn...

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried The Gf Menu At Pei Wei?
mouse replied to Billygoat's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I had lunch a week and a half ago at a Pei Wei's. It was my first visit. I had the gluten-free sweet and sour shrimp and white rice. It was wonderful. I did not get sick and so I assume the white rice was gluten-free. Armetta -
As you can see I am not to good at using the quotes. LOL. Sorry about that. I went to Denny's this morning and passed out to the morning employees 3 page condensed information sheets about Celiac, responsibilities of the wait staff and cross contamination issues for the cooks and managers. I also left with the morning manager many extra copies for the...

I guess it is time to add to my blog. I almost feel that I am obligated to do this for myself. So, I can look back and see where I was and where I am now. I am still fighting depression over the lack of energy. I have a doctor appointment next Monday for that specific thing. I don't want to go on anti-depressents, if they are going to make me into a...

ARCHIVED Whole Foods In Los Angeles - New Gf Items!
mouse replied to Merika's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My husband and I love the apple pie. It was small and cost over $6.00, but we both agreed that it was worth it. It is so sweet that we have gotton 6 small slices from it - so it lasted for three after dinner deserts. Next time we go, we plan on stocking up and freezing them. The price of gas to and from is worse then the cost of the pie. I have not tried...
