I had emailed Denny's for a list of their gluten free items on the menu. I was excited to think I could have a breakfast out. So, this morning we stopped at one on our way to Whole Foods. We sat at the counter as they were very busy. The waitress was very intimidating and I should have left then and there. But, in my present emotional state, I was just...

I appreciate that my anger and temper are for the most part, totally gone. So, does my husband. I also appreciate a toilet paper sale and then I really stock up, much to the chagrin of my hubby. Armetta

Thank you Mosaics for your nice email. I take two pills for essential tremors and one is an anti-depressant. Your suggestion has merit tho as the AD I take is a very small dosage. I know it is OK for me to take more then the one. So, tomorrow I will do that. I have not found a celiac disease support group in this area. I was the one that my doctor sent people...

Today is a really bad day for the exhaustion, even with the liquid vitamins. And now I am in a very deep emotional slump. I have been raining tears continuely for a long time today. Today and too many other days this past year, I wonder why I was so happy that they diagnosed celiac disease. Another two weeks and I would have died. I wish that I had....

mouse replied to AmandaD's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Amanda, I was never in the UW hospital, but I had an allergist from the hospital, that was the best one I ever had. I had to drive and hour and a half, each way to see him. I lived in Illinois, That hospital has a FANTASTIC reputation. Good Luck. Armetta -
ARCHIVED Insomnia & Severe Night Sweats - Please Help!

I was told that Advil gelcaps are gluten-free. Advil tablets have gluten. I called the manufacter in Feb. 04 and that is what they told me. Maybe it has changed since then. Armetta -
I just found out that all my vitamin levels are in the normal range. I was really hoping that something was wrong. It has been over a year and a half since my diagnosis and I have been gluten-free since the day of the test for Celiac. Yes, I have had accidents and twice I delibertly ate gluten dinners. That was several months back for the dinners. I...

ARCHIVED Amoxicillin/augmentin Antibiotic
mouse replied to carrielynn's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Is your son taking the ACTUAL drug or a GENERIC. Many times a generic drug has gluten. You would have to check the drug list for the generic name if that is what he is using. My insurance provider and my doctor do not send me a generic, because too many are not gluten free. Good Luck. Armetta -
I have spent the last seven days with a rash that itches unbelievable. When I can't stand the itching anymore, I then scratch like my life depends on well I can scratch LOL. Then I get the welts where I have scratched. Because this happened two days after I started this high protein, vitamin drink, I thought maybe the drink caused it and so I quit the...

mouse replied to debbie-doodles's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hi Jen, Thank you for the great meatloaf receipe. I made the first one last night and my husband and I said it was the best one I had ever made. I did use fresh onion instead of dried. That receipe is a definate saver. Armetta -
ARCHIVED Source Of Life Energy Liquid
mouse posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Because I should not be drinking High Protein Ensure because I am allergic to the soy and corn, the following was recommended. It is Nature's Plus Source of Life Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Supplement in liquid form. There is no phone number on the bottle and the web site was contacted by me and I still have not heard back from them. There are two ingredients... -
Three weeks ago I ate two cookies with gluten, thinking since they were Midol, they were gluten free. No wonder they were so good. LOL. Later discovered the mistake before I ate anymore. Four days later I accidently got cross contaminated. Needless to say I have not felt good since then. Start to feel better and then I am sick again. Yesterday I went...

As far as the progressive lenses - just point your noise at what you want to look at. You will get used to them faster that way. I wear trifocal progressives and that made it an easier adjustment. Good Luck. Armetta

ARCHIVED Asthma Meds?
mouse replied to AlwaysHope's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use a liguid Albuterol for my nebulizer and have been told by my RX provider that it is gluten-free. I use this web site to check out my meds. www.glutenfreedrugs.com. If something is not listed, then I call the drug manufactor to check. I have found that many generics contain gluten. But, I am lucky in that I only pay $6.00 a RX for non generic. ... -
Thank you. I have time to run and buy the soup. Armetta

Thank you for the marinade receipe as I will certainly try it. I love Australia as I assume that is where you are. We have been there twice and was hoping to go a third time after we retired. But, since I got so sick and do not have the energy to get on a plane, we are just thankful we did the trips earlier. We went to Sydney and to the Gold Coast the...

ARCHIVED Temper, Temper
mouse replied to abqrock's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
All my life I have had temper flare ups that were a totally embrassament(sp) to myself and sometimes my family. As I was having these tantrums, I would be thinking "what the H was I doing and stop it now". They were totally out of control and I could not stop them. Then I would cry afterwards and the short term depression would hit over how out of... -
ARCHIVED Chocolate Chip Cookies
mouse replied to greg-gard's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I told my husband that we retired to the wrong state. The East Coast is much better for gluten-free foods. The problem is that we are both glad to get out of the snow and humidity. LOL. We have a Whole Foods about 45 minutes away and they DO NOT have a gluten-free bakery. We will probably be one of the last areas to get one as I think Arizona is... -

KAITI, Could you please give out the chocolate receipe for the cookies. MY non celiac disease husband loves them, but I really don't want the normal ones in the home, as the tempation just might be too much for me. Thanks, Armetta -
