  1. I also tried the Dari free...it was good but I only had a small amount before I reacted to it. At the time I didnt know why I reacted to it but I was pretty darn frusterated after spending $10 on it. I also cant tolerate any of the soy/rice/almond milks so that pretty much left me with homemade rice milk and water. I found out last week why I react...
  2. Thanks anyway. I may have to order online. I found all the flours and mixes on the allergy website. Bummer....I hate ordering stuff online (unless its something fun). Waiting for flour to show up in the mail is not fun.
  3. Lorka...I know the gluten-free stuff are processed in a seperate room (I dont think its a seperate facility though...same factory). I just found out I'm corn intolerant....maybe even worse than gluten so I'm worried about the corn cc with Bobs stuff. On the corn forum they all seem to react to Bob's products and dont recommend them....thats why I'm looking...
  4. I have 2 of her books...ok I found the recipe. Thanks.
  5. Well I did it!! I bought a breadmaker tonight. YAY!!! I got the Cuisinart one with the gluten free setting. I hope it works good. I had the hardest time finding one though...I went to 2 different Macy's, Target and Walmart. Noone had any breadmakers at all. I finally went to Williams and Sonoma (a really awesome kitchen store) and they had the breadmaker...
  6. Matilda, I appreciate ALL input so don't feel like you're being bossy. Anyways, the main reason I wanted to test dairy was because I needed to further test the corn theory. I've always reacted to ice cream and most dairy products so assumed I had casein intolerance. Since learning that corn is in all these dairy products I had to try dairy which is...
  7. I'm not too sure of what lactic acid is but its actually on the "avoid" list for corn intolerance.
  8. Heck no!! I was talking about dairy since I dont know for sure if I have a problem with it. I'm staying gluten-free regardless but will do a challenge at some point just to see what happens since all of my "glutenings" seem to have been from corn. All I have to go by as far as gluten is my Enterolab results and the fact that I have this corn intolerance...
  9. Yeah...it was good. It was HagnDaz strawberry. I used to eat all the ones with lots of stuff like Ben & Jerry's chunky monkey or Phish food so in comparison this was kinda plain but other than that it was awesome! Hopefully if I'm ok with dairy I can make a banana split or a milkshake soon! What is the mediteranean diet? I'll have to look into...
  10. Matilda, I have seen his website but just skimmed over it...its alot to read. Since so many of us have problems with these 4 foods it makes sense that gluten would be the underlying cause. I really dont care about staying gluten-free at all but I just dont want to be off everything unless I totally have to. I didnt have any problems from my corn-free ice...
  11. Well apparantly I spoke too soon cuz now I have huge blood blisters in my mouth and I'm having a reaction to something. It happened when I was eating Perky O's cereal but I'm not sure if blisters can show up that fast. I ate alot of it yesterday too...I just bought it for the first time. Its not from a dedicated facility so cross contamination w/ both gluten...
  12. Thanks for the support Susie...I really appreciate it! If I have to avoid corn...then thats what I have to do. I'm not gonna complain about it because there are so much worse things that could happen in life. It will be hard to learn whats safe and whats not but once I know for sure what I can eat it will be a breeze. Because I've been on strict elimination...
  13. I've had allergy tests last year and corn didnt show up so I doubt its a true allergy. True allergies are pretty easy to pinpoint and this has been anything but easy to figure out so I'm thinking its more likely an intolerance.
  14. Dani, I definately wouldnt worry about taking supplements, vitamins and all that right now since you still have problems. I learned my lesson about that last summer. I just kept wasting my money because everything I tried made me worse. I am taking one digestive enzyme now which does seem to be helping...its expensive so before I buy another bottle I...
  15. That made me laugh! That would be so ironic....me, the one who never ate anything that didnt come from a package and take more than 5 minutes to prepare. That would be so bizarre if I was to become a nutritionist of all things! I do love that I can help people with what I've learned though. Theres a few people in my life that I think I can really help...
  16. I'm still learning so much from this board! Just 2 days ago I read a post from someone (I think it may have been her only post) who was discussing corn intolerance. Lo and behold this may be the answer to my lingering health problems. Without her post I would still not be giving corn a second thought. I think I was meant to read that thread. Just another...
  17. Wow...that must be quite an adjustment for him! Sounds like you are making things alot easier for him with cleaning out the cupboards and doing gluten-free baking. I think thats great that he's getting that kind of support. I hope even though the diagnosis is coming late that he will still feel the benefits from a gluten-free diet. Good luck to both of you...
  18. There is one...I think its called Organics or something like that?? Anyways, it says gluten-free right on the bottle. They have it at whole foods.
  19. I was thinking about that today! I've spent...I don't even wanna know how much money on doctors...for WHAT? They havent figured one single thing out and I've done all the work. WTF If I could go back in time....well first I'd make sure to eat alot of ice cream, pizza and corn dogs...but also I'd never waste one cent going to the doctors office...
  20. I had a Dagoba chocolate bar tonight....OMG....soooo good.
  21. Sparkles, I'm kind of on the opposite end here because I'm trying to gain weight and have always wanted to gain....even before I lost 25 lbs. from being sick. What I want to say is this...I agree with Ursula, doing the surgery is very risky. There are much healthier ways to lose weight. I know of someone who recently felt the surgery was something that...
  22. OMG....the more I think about this the more I'm freaking out. I react to all the canned stuff that has citric acid...maybe my corn problem is serious. I never thought about having to give up popcorn permanantly. The MAIN reason I like to go to the movies is for the popcorn. I love nachos, Tostitos, corn dogs, creamed corn and corn tortillas. I went to the...
  23. I eat Tropical Source chocolate....they use dedictated dairy free equipment. Also I eat Enjoy Life chocolate chips...also from a dedicated facilty.
  24. Bummer. That really sucks because I wouldnt even be able to have gluten-free beer. I'm gonna have to look into the alcohol thing. Besides beer theres not much else I used to drink. I loved Kalua and cream. Sometimes wine coolers. I wonder what people with corn allergy can drink? I know when I was sick before I started the diet I had some bad reactions...
  25. Yeah...its been forever since I've had a beer. After all this trauma I've gone through it would be great to come out of it drinking a cold beer!! Sheeesh the way my lucks been I'll buy some gluten-free beer for a small fortune and then have it kick my a** because its loaded with corn!!
