  1. Ali, I am also currently chelating heavy metals and have had improvement in both food and chemical sensitivities. I hit a wall briefly because my Dr.'s were unaware that I had copper toxicity. I had to stop chelation because it appeared that I was not able to excrete the metals (according to urine tests). I was getting more and more copper via mineral...
  2. Heavy metals are believed to trigger autoimmune disease...mercury in particular. Mercury also is known to cause gut infections, dysbiosis, candida overgrowth and of course leaky gut (among other things). So indirectly the metals can certainly be a trigger for Celiac.....or *any* autoimmune condition for that matter. Heavy metals are known to cause allergies...
  3. Lisa....cheesecake is one of my favorites!! I WANT SOME TOO!! I actually almost bought a slice from whole foods yesterday...but my friend talked me out of it.
  4. Hi Shay. Hmmm....I have the same genes I've always had and I had no problems consuming gluten (or any other food) for over 30 years. I dont have Celiac genes and I dont appear to have any significant problems eating gluten as far as I can tell right now. As long as I'm taking enzymes to aid in the digestion of gluten I dont get any symptoms from...
  5. I got my car back last night. It cost me $2500. My ex gave me $500 extra from splitting our tax returns. That was a nice surprise on top of what I already got back. My mom gave me $500 for an early b-day gift to help pay for my car. I got $600 deposdited in my acct. from that rebate we're all getting. That leaves $900....which...
  6. Thanks Elisabet. Yes...the symptoms are the same if I eat an egg or an onion. I tend to get alot of pressure in my head as well as other areas of my body. I dont think this is a common symptom but might be directly related to the mercury stored in my head area. I also get headache, blurred vision and cognitive problems (lots of brainfog). I get...
  7. The problem is that with Celiac Disease there IS a gene involved...and the gene DOES get triggered in order for a person to aquire the disease. No matter what triggered the gene in the first place....there is no evidence (so far) that removing the "trigger" can allow a person to consume gluten again without consequence. Even if candida were the actual...
  8. I agree that its best to eat the old fashioned way when we're in good health....to prevent possible health problems from occuring. Processed foods that are stripped from nutrients cant possibly be a better alternative. Too much of anything is probably not good. However, the lesson I've learned (the hard way) is that once you DO become ill alot of these...
  9. My sensitivities also intensified after eliminating gluten and most processed foods. It may be that the sensitivities became more noticeable at that point however, alot of the foods I switched to I now know were contributing greatly to the problem. I believe that I was actually becoming more toxic....and therefore I was reacting more strongly to perfumes...
  10. My mom just told me that she's really proud of how I handled this past week without having a car. I never got overly stressed, never cried, never freaked out, etc. I used to not be able to handle stresses that were much smaller than that! So she's proud because I did everything that needed to get done without having a meltdown. I also...
  11. I agree. I dont think that antibiotics alone would untrigger the Celiac gene. For some cases of non-celiac gluten sensitivity it may be the answer.....but probably not the magic bullet for those who have true Celiac Disease.
  12. Yes.....but the same can also be said about acupuncture. However, acupuncture is well known to have many benefits. Many people have experienced a complete resolution of symptoms from acupuncture alone. Acupuncture is now even used in conventional medical facilities. They may not know *how* it works....but it clearly does work. I'm one who prefers to...
  13. I just want to clarify that in making this statement I'm referring to a remission of Celiac related symptoms/damage while on a diet which is not gluten free. I am aware that remission of disease symptoms is always possible while gluten-free.
  14. I also agree with Carla on this. Since the vast majority of genetically susceptible people do not ever develop Celiac Disease it seems unlikely that the disease is caused by eating a diet that we are not genetically adapted to. Its also well known that the disease requires a trigger. However, I do not believe that the trigger for Celiac is gluten itself...
  15. Definately not!! I still LOVE pizza.
  16. I guess to me its normal food. Its not "special"....its the normal stuff thats in every grocery store across the country. Its the stuff I used to eat before I got sick. To me....if I dont have to travel to another city just to get my dinner and I can just grab it off the shelf at work....well that seems so normal to me!! I'm finding out that...
  17. I actually couldnt tolerate ANY enzymes....I was even tested for all sorts of different types and my practitioner couldnt find a single enzyme that my body responded well to. So for that reason I hadnt taken any in years. Ocassionally I would try a new brand but it never worked out for me. Only recently I started researching some enzymes that were designed...
  18. Hi Mia. Well, so far so good with my oral minerals. Yay! This is the only brand I've been able to tolerate...high quality and totally hypoallergenic. I'm taking zinc, molybdenum, folinic acid W/ B12 and the purest form of selenium available. I think since I'm doing ok I'll go ahead and order the other minerals as well. I still need chromium...
  19. I dont think I wanna test this one out!!
  20. I dont tolerate glutathione in any form. I recently tried transdermal DMPS which contains glutathione. Its 4 parts glutathione to one part DMPS. Both of my Dr.'s wanted me on the transdermal DMPS but they werent sure whether I'd be able to tolerate the glutathione. I didnt tolerate it but I do great with IV DMPS....its nothing but the DMPS....no glutathione...
  21. I've had glutathione...it was not a good experience for me. I dont tolerate oral glutathione and the IV wasnt any better. I ended up testing badly for it so I totally avoid it now. I've had plenty of magnesium....I was getting trace mineral IV's twice a month. The IV's were a very slow drip so they'd take around 3 hours. If magnesium goes in too fast it...
  22. This describes my blood blisters exactly. They always appear as I'm eating the offending food...or very soon after. Sometimes I'll get a big one (pea size) but usually they're pretty small. I typically will only get one or two....usually on the inside of my cheek but sometimes on my tongue or on the inside of my lip. They arent bothersome...they dont...
  23. I agree with April....I think the priority would be to get rid of the mold. Everyone's body is different so there's no way to know for sure if your son will have huge improvement once the mold is gone or not. Some people recover quickly and others continue to have problems. I think alot of it depends on genetics. Sometimes once you overload your body...
  24. Yeah...my problems started when 2 of my amalgams got drilled out. I was symptom-free prior to that. My health deteriorated pretty quickly...I had to go on disability just a few months after the removals. Root canals can also be an issue. They can be extremely toxic...causing all sorts of health issues...and yet none of it seems related to the root canal...
