ARCHIVED Are Onions Considered A Nightshade?
Rachel--24 replied to cycler's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Potatoes, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, tomatillos, tamarios, pepinos, pimentos, paprika, cayenne, and Tabasco sauce are classified as nightshade foods. A particular group of substances in these foods, called alkaloids, can impact nerve-muscle function and digestive function in animals and humans, and may also be able to compromise joint function... -

Thats hysterical Lisa. Yeah....me want more CAKE!! Me either...its pretty rare that I venture over there these days. I only read posts from a couple members...thats about it. I got tired of the nasties on that board. You are positive on band 39....its the most specific of all the bands. The only thing that can... -

You're right. That would very likely be a direct result of consuming foods which your body cannot handle. Mercury does its damage "behind the scenes". It creates metabolic imbalances, it blocks enzymes, it slows down detoxification, it weakens the immune system, it invites chronic infection (esp. candida and parasites).....all of these things lead to... -

I think its more of a metabolic thing. I think pushing your body too hard when things arent quite yet "set up" for that can actually make things worse for you. You will probably need to get some things back into balance so that you can detox more efficiently. If you have metals then addressing that can go a long way as far as treating the infections.... -

I dont think it would be a wasted trip either. She should be able to give you a better understanding of whats going on with you. Its kind of like getting a "peek" inside. She is very easy to talk to and I'm sure you will feel better about all of it....regardless of what she finds. I have never felt scared or confused after seeing her. Being... -

You are fortunate to be able to limit carbs and feel good. For some people it really is that easy...and for others carbs are not tolerated at all...and its especially difficult when a large amount of other foods are also not tolerated. I suspect that if I were feeling pretty good (functioning normally) with a gluten-free diet as well as low carb... -

Yeah....thats why I suggested doing a search and reading whats already been posted on the topic of MMS. They arent always the most accepting of alternative treatments...to say the least. But...there are plenty of people there who have tried this and who have posted about it. -

I hope she will look into this and I hope that she gets some answers at some point. As far as removing the fillings...its a loooong process to get the mercury out after that. I only had 4 fillings and am still working on getting the mercury out. I havent hardly even scratched the surface yet. Typically, the body starts to dump some of the mercury (on its... -

Heres my update on the detox foot pads: They're still sitting in the unopened FedEx package. I think they'll be there for awhile. -

Paula, I think this is probably the best thing. I know...its not fun....but you'll be better off now and in the long run. You dont want to be around the house while the mold is being dealt with. It could potentially worsen your condition. -

Ken, You can read the posts on LymeNET. There are several posts on MMS over there....people sharing their experiences. I cant provide you a link because this board will not allow it but just go to LymeNET's Flash Discussion and search the "medical questions" forum. -

I cant really compare myself (or anyone around me) to other communities or people who live in other areas of the world. I know that in MY area...where I live and where I grew up people generally do not eat healthy. They eat processed food...which happens to be largely stripped of its nutrients and conatins a great deal of toxic chemicals. Even the aminal... -

I know that you dont wanna have additional things to worry about/focus on....BUT....the brightside (yes, there is one ) is that you're getting these things figured out early on. The more you KNOW...the better chance of recovering....and in less time than it would take if you were unaware of these things. You definately have an advantage when you... -

I know....I saw alot of posts back then that were kinda clueing me in that the scientificness was too much. It was a red blood cell test from Dr.'s Data. Heres the link. Open Original Shared Link I'd be interested to see what Dr. H.'s recommendations are. I havent really had any of my Dr.'s focus in on this issue....not until now... -

Yeah....but Julie....I think everyone's eyes glazed over it!! I'm not even sure if brainfog is entirely necessary for the the glazed over look to take over when it comes to that stuff. I think its really important info.....probably for alot of us....but its hard to understand and I havent really found an easy way to explain it either. -

Ok...heres the other link. Open Original Shared Link They have a 24 hour sulfate test (under urine tests) and they have the sulfite strips in the misc. section of the order form. I had wanted to order the strips but didnt want to pay the $55 shipping. I'm not sure what this lab charges but the first link I put up has a $55 shipping charge... -

Here's one link. I think there is where Kassandra got hers. (they also strips to measure sulfate in the urine) Open Original Shared Link I have another link to a different lab...I have to go find it though. -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yeah...I posted alot of scientificness about this several pages back. It most likely means that your body is having difficulty converting sulfur/sulfite to sulfate....which would result in significantly impaired detoxification of heavy metals and other toxins. It means that your sulfation pathway (major detox pathway) is impaired. I havent taken this... -
ARCHIVED The Lyme Disease Thread
Rachel--24 replied to CarlaB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm someone who had some positive bands on my Western Blot (although not enough to meet the criteria for a positive test result). I am very symptomatic and spent several months having various tests done to determine how much...if any of it...is being caused by Lyme. Typically with chronic Lyme there are other factors involved including additional infections... -

I tend to agree with your thoughts. If the body is functioning well as a whole....we do not experience chronic illness. There are alot of factors that come into play as far as what can go wrong. I personally believe that it is far more complex than protein vs. carb....but yes...at the same time it can be quite simple. I also agree that those who are... -

No problem and I didnt take offense. I do post alot about heavy metals especially with regards to chronic candida or chronic Lyme...mainly because those issues go hand-in-hand. This is true and alot of what we eat today has been stripped of its nutrients. We are also definately exposed to a larger amount of toxins in our food supply as opposed... -

I imagine it would be difficult for everyone to remember. It would probably be easier to just buy seperate jars for her...they can have special labels on them so that they dont get mixed up. You can also use squeezable conatiners for mayonaise and most other condiments...that way there is no worry of dipping a contaminated knife into the jar.
