  1. My family also loves Kinnickinnick. Our favorites are Tapioca Rice Cheese bread and K-toos cookies. I also use their graham cracker crumbs and chocolate cookie crumbs. Just used them last weekend to make Rum Cream Pie and Chocolate Mousse Pie for family and friends, most of whom are not celiac. Everybody loved them!
  2. I grew up in central Iowa, but now live in Tucson and have become a major wienie. I can't take the cold..I'm sitting here in my warm sweater and jeans, cuz it only got up to 57 today! Last week, we actually got a couple of inches of snow and my kids were in high heaven! School was actually delayed because the icy roads made the city close most of the bridges...
  3. This happens to my son, only it's on his ears. They get red and hot to the touch. He lays his head on the cold marble counter to cool them off. I never really thought that it might be gluten related..interesting....
  4. I've tried the Gifts of Nature oats..made granola w/ them and it was yummy!! The whole family loved it (2 gluten-free, 2 not). I bought them at a Wild Oats store.
  5. Congrats! I hope the good feeling continues!
  6. Make all of the contestants live in a house w/ 1 bathroom!
  7. There is a postive side to self diagnosis...Celiac is not mentioned in your medical records. This can make it easier to get insurance (health and life). Insurance companies tend to write waivers on anything that is mentioned in your medical file.
  8. Erewhon makes one called Rice Twice w/ "lightly sweetened crisps & puffs of brown rice". Just bought it, but no one in the family has tried it yet.
  9. I think Health Valley makes a gluten-free Cr of Mush & Cr of Chx. Haven't tried them, tho. Good Luck!
  10. Kinnikinnick also sells gluten free graham crumbs..they are really good. If I don't have those around, I just crush up gluten-free cookies.
  11. Everyone in my family likes the Premier Japan (2 gluten-free, 2 not). I buy it at Wild Oats Market.
  12. My family loves Crunchmaster 4 cheese crackers crushed up w/ some garlic added. Or, I dip the chx in ranch dressing and then roll in crushed corn flakes. Yum! I'm getting hungry!
  13. My son likes to take luncheon meat and sliced cheese rolled up. I usually put them in baggies the night before so I can just toss it in the lunchbox in the morning. He just rolls it up at lunch time..No bread or cracker needed. He's not very fond of the gluten-free bread unless toasted. He also likes to take gluten-free soup or leftovers in a Thermos...
  14. My husband has celiac disease and I am wondering if my 13 yr old son may also have it. My son's symptoms include: insomnia, memory problems and lack of concentration. He does not show any signs of digestive problems and is a little on the heavy side. He actually eats like a horse and tends to crave glutenous food (bread, pasta,etc.). I am becoming very...
