ARCHIVED Smelly Eggy!
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
That's awesome! Getting the potatoes back! I love potatoes too, fried nice and crispy with a little salt.... Mmmmmm! Yeah, away from the corn for now, it's way to scary! Evil stuff! Anyway, what's a cauliflower pizza crust??? Sounds amazing??? Don't get anything like that here in UK! Funnily enough, tomatoes are next on my list, though they really put me... -
ARCHIVED Newbie Going It Alone - Would Love Some Advice
designerstubble replied to Hd7747474's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ps. I had irregular menstrual cycle too, terrible bloating and gas (omg the gas), awful digestion noises sometimes. Alternate diarrhea and constipation. Bad spots on face but not acne. Teeth were brittle and became transparent. Pins and needles, burning sensation in feet and hands (neuropathy)... List goes on! Some have resolved, actually most have. -

Little leaf lost (great name)... I am 7-8 months gluten free. I aquired many allergies and intolerances since being gluten-free and have had my diet restricted severely. I have had all sorts of problems and strange and weird things going on... The first 3months I felt better overall, appearance improved... I thought at the time quite a lot. But since realise... -
ARCHIVED Smelly Eggy!

Haha! Hi Bartfull, how you doing!! How's the corn situation going, any more joy? You cheered me up, thanks. I feel like such a freak disclosing all my 'private' business! You gotta laugh eh?! I'm SO glad you think it's ok to have stinky poop!! I swear I would've left the room if I'd been able to?!! Hahaha!! I don't think my celiac bum ever smelled so... -
Sorry, just had to share my excitement today. As no other peeps would appreciate the joy, especially at home. Well, I ate an egg yesterday (1st egg in 5 months due to 'allergy') hives, having mainly survived on fruit and veg with rice. So... No allergy! Yeee ha! No tummy upset as far as I can tell, bit up on the wind but nothing too extraordinary! Today...

designerstubble replied to pretty in paleo's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut

Ditto the above! I too also saw a general decline in health, to the point of thoughts of impending doom. On a subconscious level I think I knew my body was closing down. Uh sounds awful. I also had little water blisters here and there, often on fingers and around ears and jaw. My facial skin went transparent, and haggered looking, shrivelled almost. Amongst... -
ARCHIVED Probiotic To Help Digestion Of Raw Veggies And Fruit?

Ps. IMHO...for maximum nutrient absorption...If you need to cook any of veg before smoothie, steam it very lightly. (Microwave destroys any live enzymes instantly). -
ARCHIVED Chronic Urticaria (Hives) Common For celiac disease?
designerstubble replied to helenln0's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yep hives after diagnosis... Started 2 months in. Kept food journal, identified lots of 'allergies' and intolerances such as citrus, paprika, celery, sunflower seeds... On and on and on. I won't bore you. They went away when I cut foods out. I'm now 7 months in, no reactions for 3 months ish. Except for pressure hives (slightly different)... Have also figured... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have A Problem With Meralgia Parasthetica?
designerstubble replied to twe0708's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had all sorts of strange burning pains all over my body... Feet, arms and legs. Slowly diminished after 6 months on B12. According to docs I was in normal range. When I checked I was in lower end of normal. Can't remember last time I had any of these burning pains... Fingers crossed I'm right! Have you supplemented with the b vits? Apparently low vit d... -
ARCHIVED Probiotic To Help Digestion Of Raw Veggies And Fruit?
designerstubble replied to nvsmom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have been having green juices EVERY day for 6 months. I juice mostly thereby removing the fibre. Helps digestion, hardly any bloat. Sometimes when I'm lazy I make a fruit smoothie and chuck some spinach or kale in... More gas defo. I fact more gas generally when any fruit & veg mixed. I am queen of the plant realm as far as gas bloat and poop goes... -
ARCHIVED Poop (Sorry!)

Thanks for that It nice (for me at least) to hear of other people with loose bowels. Sounds awful doesn't it?! But you know what I mean! It's so frustrating to know if something is 'normal' or not. Like today and the last few days I have had lots if squelching gut noises?! Why?! Is this normal. My diet has been the same. Should I ignore?! When should I... -
ARCHIVED Refractory Sprue
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks Lisa I think you are completely right. I was reading today about how underdiagnosed Celiac is, I hope they do research it better... To me it seems rather high that 5% of people get refractory, and in many cases can't do anything about it... As in with RCD 2, most people die 3-5 yrs post diagnosis? Wish I was rich. I'd sort this crap out!! I know I... -
ARCHIVED Refractory Sprue
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thank you, interesting reading. I only eat whole foods too, no processed! Never eat out, my house is virtually gluten free except from husbands beer! I spoke to a nutritionist today who seemed to think that my diet of just fruit and veg probably contributed to my loose bowels. Also increased she said because I drink green juice every day virtually, and... -
ARCHIVED Lactose Slip Up
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Oh now there's a thought! It wouldn't surprise me tbh. I seem to have incurred many allergies and intolerances! It never bothered me until a year before diagnosis when I would have a real full on active phase of celiacs, feeling really very ill. It seemed that cheese triggered it always?? I think it might have been anything fatty actually. Anything fried... -
ARCHIVED Lactose Slip Up
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks Do you mean just normal hard cheeses? Are they lactose free?? Or do you mean specifically "lactose free" cheese? I'm eating butter but I know there is hardly any lactose in it! -
ARCHIVED Lactose Slip Up
designerstubble posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Just a quickie. I went lactose free on the suggestion of an alternative practitioner friend when diagnosed last oct, as I had continued abdomen pain. The pain eventually disappeared mostly. I've been dairy free for over 6 months, 2 days ago accidentally took a couple of gulps of my sisters milky tea. Ugh! I was thirsty so swallowed a couple of mouthfuls... -
I've been reading up on Refractory Sprue (mainly because my diarrhea hasn't improved), and found so much info on Refractory. But some of it contradicts and I was wondering where you get the facts from? Any good websites known? Is it really as much as 10% of celiacs have Refractory Sprue? And is it true that after 10 years gluten-free your chances of developing...

ARCHIVED Poop (Sorry!)
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for that. Thats a good idea about increasing foods as I don't want to eliminate any more unless really necessary.. I only have a few! I must admit, I know that lots of roast carrots or parsnips upset my tummy but just one or two don't really do much. Awesome, thanks. And actually to be honest I never used to eat rice everyday, only every 2... -

ARCHIVED Poop (Sorry!)
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks everyone for your replies. Bit disheartening. I feel like I'm the only one with loose poo! (@diletantesteph) never thought of that... just looked at my rice packet... it says gluten free?? I'm going to see about probiotics again, they seemed to help before... just that since I became corn intolerant I can't seem to find a corn free one. How... -
ARCHIVED Intense Exercise : Good Idea Or Not For Us Celiacs?
designerstubble replied to zamm0's topic in Sports and Fitness
Hi there, it's me! Just wondered... who are these Olympic and prof athletes with celiac... I'm so interested to know... I've googled this many times and never come with anything?? Not even celebrities! (Probably due to search engine tactics here in UK!) I'm interested just as I'd very much like to exercise properly, but am petrified!! Mainly due to defiencies... -
ARCHIVED Poop (Sorry!)
designerstubble replied to designerstubble's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for you reply. Yes maybe you're right, I just don't know how to rotate so few foods and get a reasonable amount of vitamins... Or energy for that matter. Not to mention protein! Thank you, I will look into rotational diets -
Ugh. Anybody still have loose poop 7 months gluten-free??? Sorry, totally gross etc but I don't know what to do. No cc. I have many food issues and mostly exist on fruit veg and rice. I eat rice to try and bulk me up... (It's not working) still waiting to see a GI specialist (still had no follow here in UK, docs been crap etc)... My poop is very loose and...
