  1. I'm a celiac and my B12 (with tablets, 1000mcg/2-3 per week) values were 320 (Feb,2011), 528 (Aug,2011), 609 (Dec,2011) and 693 (Mar,2012). Lab range: 208-964. My next bloodwork is in Feb. I use Nature Made B12 which claims "Timed Release" formula that extends the vitamin absorption by the body. The last part of the small intestines is the ileum where B1...
  2. I stand corrected. Colgate Sensitive is OK by me.
  3. http://www.njit.edu/news/2010/2010-053.php ,see paragraph 6.
  4. I use Colgate Sensitive, Enamel/protect. Inactive ingredients does not list corn.
  5. Don't do it. I did in 2007, and ended up with IBS/GERD. Wheat is not worth anything. Make progress, be well and STAY well.
  6. Might want to check out this link: Open Original Shared Link Its a comprehensive list of corn-containing products.
  7. I cannot relate to a celiac-h.pylori link. I've been celiac for 30 years and never had h.plyori. In 2007, I had an endoscopy with total collaspe of villi( I cheated badly) with no evidence of H.pylori. Again, in Dec, 2012, no evidence of celiac disease in the 3rd and 4th part of the small intestines. No biopsy was taken in the 2nd part (GI Doc didn't see...
  8. Yes indeed, thanks for posting. A great resource for all concerned with celiac disease. New or old. I checked out the "Labs For Testing" section. I want to ask my Doc if it would be worthwhile for me to do a HLA-DQ(2 and 8) analysis. Bloodwork/biopsy proved it long time ago. Surprised not to see LabCorp listed. They do these tests too. Who's the best...
  9. Firstly, you have irritation of the duodenum and esophagus. What did the Doc Rx'ed? Avoid foods that cause these issues. Secondly, zinc- formalin (ie: formaldhyde) is a perservative. 10 biopsies taken at various places. Size of each tissue sample, so indicated. Hope this helps for starters.
  10. Eat more protein.
  11. My 1st impression: Great, labeled as Certified gluten-free. Yes-less than 10 ppm gluten. My 2nd impression: Bad: Chicken chunks tasted strange. Buy a can and see what you taste. Maybe my taste buds are going bad. Can gluten do that?
  12. My bottle of DE is labeled with "1 capsule at the beginning of each meal." I believe that 's the first bite.
  13. With that intense training, I'd be more concerned with your lipid numbers. I'm 67 and fought celiac disease for 30 years. My WBC's are close to yours (last 2 yrs- 4.4, 4.9, 3.7 low, 4.2, and 3.6 low; neutrophils, all within range). My lipids are OK. I did weight training during 2012. But had to stop due to recent headaches. Need to determine source(celiac...
  14. Yes, it is a great discussion. Thanks. I don't believe you are "cursed." In fact, you are blessed to have such a great internal support group. For me, I still have to bring my own gluten-free food to family gatherings.
  15. I am going to ask the Doc to cut back Rx to 20mg/day(from 40). Its to strong, stomach ache. Something Doctor's never tell you is that long term therapy(20mg/day) with omeprazole will also develop fundic gland polyps within 1-5 years. Two years avg. Ref: Am J Gastroenterol 1997 Oct, 92(10); 1858-60. The patient information leaflet (Mylan Pharma) does...
  16. All is well. I'll get a 2nd opinion asap.
  17. By Dash time, I'll be 68.5 years old. Had celiac disease for 30 years and definetly will get a bone study done asap. Last year, I lost 30 lbs with better diet(added more protein, fresh fruits & veggies, more nuts) and weight training. I challenged my nephew to run with me, He does these obstacles races frequently and says they are pretty safe. Electric...
  18. I strongly suggest that you re-read my topic. Six (6) biopsies were taken at various places with results as stated therein.
  19. Interesting link, but a little to complex for me. My doc observed some patchy areas of interest. But not in the 2nd part. That is why no biopsy was taken.

    ARCHIVED Alcohol

My sister is a Heidi too. Glad to meet you. I gave up alcohol 5 years ago when I developed AR/GERD. Alcohol should be avoided. Don't miss it either. Have a GI doc check this out. Hope you feel better soon.
  21. Make progress, become well and stay well.
  22. My last A1c(11/2012) was 6.0 (range: 4.8-5.6%). Optimal is less than 7.0%. Blood glucose was 108 (lab, range: 65-99 mg/dL). One typical day, my numbers were 99, 92, 95, 99, 87, 90 with home glucose meter. If I add 14 points( the difference between home/lab results) to each value, it supports the lab result of 108. Consumed only 30 grams sugar. Cann't get...
  23. I've have pain in my eyes too. I don't think its allergies or dry eye. Maybe from constant headache from celiac disease. I tried GABA750 from GNC for about two weeks and did notice some relief to the eyes and more calmness during the day. Look up Open Original Shared Link. Search for Now Foods GABA 750mg. Abstract: "gamma aminobutyric acid ....found...
  24. At 420, what symptoms do you have? I'm not diabetic, and my highest was 168mg/dL. I ate 160 grams of sugary foods that day and I got very dizzy after dinner with the room spinning. With me, it's sugar spikes. When I feel crummy, I check myself with a glucose meter. How do your numbers run on a typical day as opposed to one lab result? I do hope...
  25. This topic was debunked. It was labeled a "might be a marketer", "sketchy snake-oil seller", and "lobbyist." for Big Pharma. At least no one called me a grumpy old man. This board, absolutely a 110% group. With your replies, I'm a whole lot wiser too. I need to catch-up with the autoimmune -celiac link. I'm not changing my position, just going to sprinkle...
