Im a maverick.
You didn't really say that, did you?

Happygirl made a comment about Refractory Sprue. Having a conversation with someone who has been diagnosed with Refractory Sprue, due to the many years and severe symtoms of undiagnosed Celiac, her villi will no longer grow back, regardless of a dedicated gluten free diet. They're just gone.
Although perhaps rare, it does happen.

Coke and Pepsi products are gluten free.
-
There is a list of gluten free products from Smithfield Foods. It can either be found on line or by phone. It's fairly extensive. I have a copy, but I can't put my hands on it at the moment.

I have performed well over 300 of these gluten tests (you read that correctly)
I have spoken to the owner of Elisa a couple of times and I honestly do not think they are doing this for the money.
You have performed "well over 300 of these tests" and as Shay quoted, two test strips are available for $25.00. Well, I'm really not very good with math, but that totals "well over $3,750. I hate to break it to you, but SOMEONE is getting rich.

Oh and BTW, I WOULD name names. I have always believed that keeping someone else from getting sick is WAY more important than protecting a manufacturer. I almost got kicked off of this forum for calling out a product on the Gluten Free Mall. In the end they amended their wording for the product on the site and made it right by me. A good company. But I was willing to risk myself to protect others. Just so ya'll know.
This is a great place to share information regarding Celiac Disease and it's associated illnesses. That's what this site is all about. Many people rely on information that is posted here, therefore, it's extremely important to post the most accurate information as possible, support links or substantiation is encouraged. It is not a written rule, just plain common sense.
Yes, your right Sharon, people's health does rely on information found here. Accuracy is paramount.

I couldn't get this link to work . . . ?
Sorry, it said that the company is aware of the misprint and is working hard to correct it. The product is not gluten free.

I found this on another forum.

But it was, no doubt, ALL TOO &^%$#$%^&* BRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brief, but oh so memorable. A lot of fun too! Hum, let's see....I have met Tom, Chris, Metta, Laura, Lynne, Karen and Tom (Par18). West Coasties next, (I want to live on Bainbridge Island) or maybe 2012 at Nikki's.
Enjoyed the picture of Emily and her family with Peter.

but in that thread, I remember reading about people who had a reaction to alcohol distilled from grain, regardless of gluten content.
Yes, there are some sensitive people here that do react to grain based distilled alcohol. Raven, where are you???

Another lurker outted! Yeah!
With only four samples taken, it is likely that effected areas might have been missed; therefore, the pathology report would show negative.
Scalloping is consistent, as are your blood tests. Combined with a positive dietary response, I would consider myself diagnosed with Celiac Disease.
I understand the frustrations with the Canadian Health System. We often fuss in the US, but.. You might not meet the criteria for diagnosis in Canada without a supporting biopsy, but a personal diagnosis can change your life.
Welcome to the Club!

Yeah, I'm interested to see which was a mistake - the gluten free labeling or the wheat ingredient - pretty scary either way!
I would contact the company and explain the issue. A serious issue in my opinion.

"Paper plate"
I have been gluten-free for over eight years, and in that time I have never encountered a paper product that contained gluten. Not one. I have also not found any case where the stories about the adhesives holding paper products to the rolls were substantiated.
If you have any hard evidence to support your allegation, please provide it for us.
Nor have I Peter.

"Paper plate.
Yes? Paper plate?
-
I was getting glutened off of a particular paper plate for crying out loud. What a sad state of affairs this board has turned into in my opinion. This is America and we do have freedom of speech, but I don't understand flaming a product/company when you don't have a clue? Man oh Man.......Mike
Mike, a paper plate? Can you verify that that paper plate contained gluten? Live by whatever means you need to, but when it comes to product verification on this site, prepare to back it up with fact.
Feel free to voice your opinion, but don't be surprised when other may disagree. Disagreement should not be viewed as a personal insult to a person or a product.

Hey! I just got a call from Richard Petty. I feel special

Just because something does not have gluten in it, doesn't mean that some of us don't react to some things. No rule book here
Everyone is different.

Get any calls from EMABOFF (Ear Muffs And Booties for Our Four-legged Friends)?
I think so, but I stopped listening months ago.

Ok, I have already voted. How do I make these relentless robo political calls go away!!! Elizabeth Dole is now my new best friend.
I'm getting calls from every direction. Even from the Citizen's Committee for the Support of Fallen Arches or the Citizen's for the Mandate of Green Bean Casserole for Every Holiday Committee.
Seriously HELP!
