  1. Yes babe, you are so right.

I'm almost 52 and Jim is 67. The girl are out of the house. It is time to clarify our lives. What comes next we want to enjoy. Sometimes "stuff" just over-whelms you. Life is not about "stuff", it's what you do in your life. So a sized-down house in a good place is a good thing.

It just is very frustrating. Jim worked for the airlines for 31 year, and they took a petition to the courts and the courts arbitarily ruled to dismiss the enuity that was contracted to the pilots, to "save the airline". What a crock of spinach. The execs walked away with 33Mil. each.

I'll stop there . I want to sleep well tonight.

  2. No burning here....thank goodness. Maybe hormones or just two pups that need to be free :P

It is about time for me to get a full blood panel to see where I am after one year diognosed. That will be on my agenda along with the house, new house, trashing and burning, selling and dealing with my friends and neighbors who want to know everything. Whoooah.

Still, interested in a hormone aspect of celica.

  3. thank you all for your response.

I tend not to list everyone's name, because I know I will leave someone out. (shoot, I was the last to be picked for the basketball team - deep seeded life long issues with that B) )

I tried the gas X and it seemed to do well, I can breath tonight. If I tried the baking soda, which I am sure would work, I think I would burp with every thing else in my stomach. I'll save that for emergencies. The other suggestion, rolling on the floor, Karen, is that with or without an altoid in your mouth. B) .....hey, I'm willing to try anything if it works.

Anyway, I recieved alot of good suggestions as I hope others have.

lindalee, there is always so many things that controll our life. We're ready to get out from under those stresses. I think that this is a good change. We are actually interviewing realitors to list our house. How cool is that. Too bad, you are not here, I'd pass it on to you........any new recruits for the "Hawk"?

Lisa with gas x. (worked pretty darn good)............NOW, ON TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, sheeese.

  4. Momma Goose is STRESSED. We have decided to down size and sell our house. We have found another that we like every much but it is much smaller, likewise price. But it's like putting 10 lbs of spinach into a 5lbs bag....:blink: And my GERD is acting up like hell fire. Meeting with a Realitor tomorrow to see if others think our home is as valuable as we do :(

If it wasn't so hard to get off Lexipro, I'd wish for it back. :(

Sorry Susan, if I appeared snippy. I was in so much discomfort that it was hard to breath, much less laugh at everyone who could belch. Everyone was belching on line and I just needed just one to feel better.

    Still belchless, Lisa

  5. Thanks:

I felt so unconfortable so I just went to bed. Much better this morning. I try to take a pepsid about lunch time to frevent the afternoon gas build up. Judy, I have tried to carbonation drinks and it just gets worse.

I'll try gas X maybe that will help.

Judy, I'm glad to see what you look like, yes, the motherly type (a compliment, yes, it was :) Sorry to hear about your mother. I lost mine when I was 2 1/2 so the only mothering I have known is my own.. You can mother me anytime.

  6. Babe:

Leah is correct. You sound like you have classic Celiac Disease with major bone loss. Please get a bone density test.

In the interum, make sure that you cosmetics, shampoos, lotions, toothpaste or anything you can ingest into your mouth. Gluten is everywhere. Dove shampoo, Dove soap, Crest toothpaste, Burt's Bee's lip gloss are all gluten free.

Also, LaChoy Soy Sauce, Leah&Perrins Worst. Sauce are gluten free. As well, some meds do contain gluten.

It is very apparent that you doctors have NO clue.

Until you have your appointement. Please ask about gluten free foods.

Please go gluten free asap. And, ask away. Your health is very important to us and we have all been in your shoes.

  7. I had a lot of breast tenderness after about a month gluten-free, went on the board to ask about it, & several members mentioned they had gained a cup size... sure enough, my bras were too small, hence the discomfort... never would have occurred to me, but my feeling was just like yours, undressing at night felt much as it did when pregnant or nursing.

Try going braless for a day & see how you feel-- that's how I figured it out. I felt instant relief.

It must be the same feeling. But to increase another cup size, whooh as I already am at a D. With additional breast size, stomach bloating, and still very slim limbs. I LOOK LIKE A WATERMELLON ON TOOTHPICKS!!

Interested in the hormone effect...tiffany, always has the anwsers.

It is not a pretty sight, and quite a bit depressing......feeling pissy tonight. I think I will go eat worms.

    Lisa

  8. For the past several months, as the posted, I have been experiencing a great deal of discomfort. Discomfort very similar to being pregnant ( God forgid, at my age). When undressing, it is like the "milk" has dropped...as post delivery.

Anyone out there with the same issues.

I have heard that it may be difficult getting pregnant with Celiac, perhaps there is a hormone issue going on here. Is there any research on this issue thay any of you are aware of.

    thanks, Lisa

  9. Susan:

The endoscopy exam is considered the "gold standard" of diognosis. If you choose to get dxd' in that manner...full gluten diet.

If you want to experiment and get totally gluten free, you must be totally gluten free (shampoos, creams, toothpaste, lipstick, ie. anything that can get into your mouth.)

If you suspect that you have Celica, you have two choices:

    1. Immediately go gluten free and see if you symptoms will subside. You also need to know that it may take weeks, a month, or many months to feel the healing, depending on the amount of damage to your small intestines.

    2. You can continue to eat gluten and make arrangements for testing. I did not go the Engo-lab route, I went for the biopsy which confirmed full flattening of the villi.

Either way, Susan, you can't do it half way. It is either all or nothing.

I hope that this is helpful to you.

  10. Lister,

I never look at the ingredence in eggs before. Just thought they were just plain eggs.

I do think there is no difference between brown and white eggs...just the breed of the chicken.

I think that you are safe eating the eggs.

Here is something for you to try:

Scramble eggs in a bowl (how many you want to eat)

Add a little half&half, or milk

    Add a little cream cheese

    Add some McCormicks dried onions

Add some Oscar Meyer Real Bacon Bitts

    Salt and pepper to taste

Mix it up real well and SLOWLY stir and cook on top of the stove....too good

Fry up some Jimmy Dean Sausage and some Oreida hash browns...and your cooking. ALL GLUTEN FREE. :)

  11. Susan:

I just wanted to add that good advise was given. So it you choose, to go gluten free without testing, it can be a very complicated issue. Gluten is everywhere. If you do chose to go that route, please check back in with us for the basic start up product brands that will insure that you are totally gluten free.

If you choose to be tested by Endo. lab, or blood test, or endoscopy, you must continue to eat gluten or your result will not be accurate.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  12. It took a long time to create the damage to the small intestines and it will take so time to heal. Please tell your dad that it may take some time for the symptoms to subside.

In addition, check his shampoo, face soap, face lotion or anything that can be ingensted into his mouth.

Gluten is in almost every thing from soy sauce to dried fruit.

If you have any question, we are here. Please feel free to ask way.

    Lisa

PS if you need some starter products, crest, dial, etc. Just ask.

  13. It is just a mind game. You eat poorly you get sick you eat safely, you don't......it's just too simple.

I just can't handle something messing with my mind. Which it has, by the way, and I will tollerate any more.

For all the newbies out there...this is so way beyond bread and pizza....it is about saving your life giving organs, your BRAIN and so many, many others.

The risks are so dangerous, buit the saving grace is that it is sooooo simple.

Live gluten free, and kick up and just live.

    end of lecture.

  14. If a child has celiac disease and a parent refuses to enforce the diet, is that parent committing child abuse?

The child knows he has celiac disease and knows that there are long-term health risks. The child is a teenager, age 15.

However, the parent will not stop the child if he tries to eat gluten and often will give him food with gluten, as to not make him feel like he's missing out on what everyone else has. If that teenager has been already diagnosies with Celiac Disease, then the parent is medically harming the child.

The parent also has celiac disease and, having gone undiagnosed for many years, herself has serious health problems due to the disease and the damage it caused. With a proper diagnoses, of un-check celiac, yes

What do you think: child abuse? or is the child old enough to make these decisions for himself? I will leave that answer to you.
