hummm, guess I have to look into other things. Gluten is always creaping everywhere. You have to be a spy on yourself.

Probably Shirley, she does everything
I would like to have some of her canned goods.

I feel glad that I have a source in all of you and know where I can turn to get support.
I am glad that I don't have cancer, which is what I thought.
I am glad that my husband has realized that this is serious and talks to the waiter before I get a change to open my mouth (I think
). He has seen so supportive and helped me with trash bag with my favorite jeans in them
I am glad that I can heal myself, although the burden is high. I sometimes feel that I have handle on the diet and I get slack and it bites me in the a-- all the time - literally.
I am glad that I know what I am dealing with and I am in full controll.
I am glad that I know that Altoids have many uses. Shush, don't tell my husband. I am 51 and my husband is 66 - Karen can have all of mine.
I am glad that we are together in this and we can joke and be friends.

I checked on to Delfi Product list and I wasn't clear as it was not listed, but stated that precooked chicken, pork and beef entries are not gluten free.
Any one experience a symptoms.

Barb'que Chicken or Ribs:
So easy...
Chicken or Ribs in a large pan - with Pam on the botton and sides (easy clean up)
1 Can Chicken Stock - Swanson
Cook for a while at 350 -
Add Sweet Baby Rays B'que Sauce and continue cooking
...until tender.
Or add all the stuff together and cook slow "Sweet Baby Rays" is the best bbq sauce that I have tasted.
Roasted potatoes, Roasted corn, mac and cheese (yuck) or apple sauce, salad, cole slaw, cucs and tomatoes in italian dressing with dill, Bushes pork and beans (with mustard, worst. sauce, brown sugar, onions, grn peppers, hot sauce, Oscar bacon,...in the oven). Took me 20 years to finally make good baked beans.

I agree, not Altoids for minors. I do think that minors should be carded when buying Altoids.
Karen, you have personally self educated a new generation.
....of upcomming happy adults.

It all depends on how long you have been gluten free. When your small intestines are inflamed, you, or I have gotten those stabbings pains. I attribute that to intestinal inflamation. It will subside your get adjusted to the diet. and gluten is removed. Hope that may also help.

I know that alot of this is overwhelming to you as it was to me. There is alot on this site besides what you are looking at..
If you scroll down on on the opening page and scroll down, you will see a whole list of forum sites, from recipies, coping with, chat site (we tend to stay way from controversial issues though), children issues, teenage site, products and ingrediences, baking, friends and family issue site.......and so much more that just hearing us gab of celiac.
I have learned so much from this site since many of my doctors were not knowledable to celiac and I have found that most of it is here. All you have to do is ask, which you did. It could take you days and days to read through everything here and it will afford you the greated knowledge about your disease than any other place.
And to top it off, I have made some really good friends here that are some of the most caring people.
Try is out and I know that you mom will enjoy it, so she can make you some really good gluten free meals and you won't even know it.
You can also do a search for toothpaste and shampoo and you will find it here

Welcome to the world of celiac!
The next month or two will be your hardest. You need to cram in as much information on the diet as you can absorb. I would suggest reading as many posts here are you are able and that will get you off to a great start.
This diet is not that difficult, once you know what to look for.
The people here have been so wonderful in guideing me though Celiac Disease and I don't know what I would have done without everyone here.
First, start asking questions (there are no dumb question). How can we be of help.

Hi Shirley, just checkin in.

99% sure Or ida is gluten-free
-
Yes, this is an old joke floating around here. It has been adult talk with mild suggestiveness.

I have been doing my best to be gluten free since August.
When I was highly symptomatic, it would take me about 30 minutes to release my lunch totally indigested, with the most horrible acid that my body could produce. I was basically home bound for two months until I got the hang of the diet. After that I ventured out a bit with the help of immodium.
Now 8 months later, if I get glutened it may take about 24 hours to feel the effects.
Celiac is a disease that takes time, research on your part, time and research on your part.
This is the best source that you can have and there are no dumb questions here. We have all been there and because of this site, we are better.
Keep in touch

Auuina:
First of all I as well as other welcome you to this site. You will learn so much here.
Let me see if I an can address your concerns:
First take one step at a time. Continue to eat gluten, breads, pasta, pizza and do it now because of it you diognoses those taste may not be available as you know it now.
Second, don't take two steps in front of the horse. Wait for you biopsy, and wait for the results.
Third, when all is done and you have some knowlege about what your difficulties are, then it will be time to adjust you diet, if your are diognosed with Celiac.
We will take you step by step as all here have been through this. With the gluten free diet, you have a few months of cramming information and then it all seems to level out as you learn and get the swing of things. It is really a non issue as you learn what is safe and what is not. In about six months, you will have it down.
Re schedule your appointment for the biopsy. It is a breeze and nothing to be scared about. Just remember to bring someone with your because you will not remember when the DR returns and tell you about the proceedure.
Best of luck and continue with your testing. Let us know.

Mabiac:
Welcome to the site. You have come to a good place. You will learn more from the good people here than you will from any other place.
To anwser your questions:
1: I you have been diognosised with Celiac D, you have Celiac and gluten will continue to distroy your villi, yes that will happen.
2. Spicey foods do not necessarity destroy your villi unless they have gluten contained in the spices.
(Although, if your system is damaged, spicey foods may irritate you compromised system).
3. Often when diognosed with Celicac, others find that they are often irritatated by diary as well in the beginning stages.
4. Ask as many question of us that you need to. We have all been there and done that.
There are no dumb questions here, just lots of people who have been through what you are gong though.
I would not have been where I am now without the help of these people here that have helped me so greatly. Don't feel shy about posting your concernes or questions. It is a scary sometimes. I have meet so many good friends here and I encourage you to stay with us and learn.
Read alot of posts here and you will learn so much. Good luck to you and post with questions as much as you need to. You will get answers to all your questions.
Keep with us, Lisa

Why not explore gluten free recipies.......self serving, I know. Try what's now, the avenue is open to you.
This site has lots of gluten free good goodies in all avenues. Check it out.

It is so easy to make home made soups. If any one wants some help doing that, just let me know. Mine are easy - anyone can cook them. You just need to have taste buds.

Steven ( I presume)
As more publicity comes forth, you may not need to defend you disease. It can be a very frustrating time.
And as time goes on you will become more comfortable with what you have do deal with. I know that I was very intense when I was first diognosed. It totally consummed my life until I go a handle on it
Frustration and some very dumb people are a big part of adjusting. It will get better, although, now I know you want to beat your head against the wall.
As time will go on, you will find that you are totally wiser than servers, chiefs, grocery clerks, DOCTORS, and all the friends that you can have.
Keep checkin here. If your questions can't be answered here, they just can't be answered.
It will get better, Lisa
