ARCHIVED Is This Site For Mothers With Children Who Have Celiac?
Lisa replied to rainewhitlock1's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Some times doctors make me so angry. It common knowledge that testing for Celiac is highly unreliable for children under the age of five. They are subjecting your daughter needlessly. Please consider continuing the gluten free diet. The good people (and parents as well) here will help you with the diet. You already have a genetic history and she... -

ARCHIVED If No Dairy Too, What Can I Eat!
Lisa replied to MTgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When people first are diagnosed their digestive system is in stress. It's recommended to start simply. Meats, fish, fresh veggies, potatoes, rice, fresh fruit are good for starters. Dairy CAN be an issue but not always for everyone. And it can be reintroduced once some healing takes place. Check our the Products or Recipe Sections here for some... -

ARCHIVED Endoscopy - Biopsy
Lisa replied to debmidge's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Deb, I found this article particularly interesting and it answered some of my questions as well. I buy Pillsbury Milk Chocolate a lot. I don't buy Duncan Hines because I have seen gluten listed. I have no problem with products that are not listed as "gluten free", but contain no gluten ingredients. Some might be especially sensitive to products from a shared facility. I'm not one of them.

ARCHIVED All My Testing Done, Now I Wait For Gi, Is It Really Celiac?
Lisa replied to Amy Joe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So sorry that you have had a difficult time recently. Healing will not take place over a matter of days, to the degree where it will be evident, in my opinion. But, it just a matter of two days. Can you make it. In the mean time, this is the best place to learn about Celiac. Take a walk around and a BIG Welcome. -
ARCHIVED All My Testing Done, Now I Wait For Gi, Is It Really Celiac?
Lisa replied to Amy Joe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Open Original Shared Link You can tend to Barrett's without effecting your gluten free status. It would make you more comfortable. It does sound like classic Celiac, but you may want the pill cam. I understand it's one of the most conclusive tests that is currently available. -
ARCHIVED Endoscopy - Biopsy
Lisa replied to debmidge's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, Deb through the biopsy sample. Although, at times a doctor can see visible damage. Directly from my endo, my doctor explained to my husband that is saw stunted villi and visually confirmed Celiac pre pathologic report. Please take note though, there are other causes for blunted villi aside from Celiac. It is most consistant with Celiac, but not... -

No, I meant that there is no guarantee that anything is totally gluten free, unless it's something like a banana. Landon asked is Capt. Morgan and Seagrams 7 were gluten free. Distrilled alcohols COULD leave trace amounts of gluten, even though it is considered safe for Celiacs to consume. I've never had an issue with either, including the seven-up...

They are considered safe for Celiacs to consume due to the distilling process. I would not consider anything gluten free unless it was tested or a single ingredient such as a banana.

ARCHIVED Ice Cream
Lisa replied to efriedm2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Bryers Ice Cream will clearly list all forms of gluten, but most likely not in a dedicated facility. -
Try to google other names. I do not believe that you can see other's personal information. I just googled your name Snubu, I could see no personal information. Like Peter said, your personal information is visible only to you. Not to worry.

I have eaten in Waffle House. I generally would not recommend it due to a high likelihood of cross contamination. I ask them to cook my eggs bacon or hash browns on a clean area of the grill and I watch. Most employees have been very accommodating and concerned about doing everything right. I tip well for their efforts.

ARCHIVED Don't Understand Dairy/estrogen/soy
Lisa replied to anniebeth's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am not certain that food intolerances can cause breast tenderness, but is it possible that you are entering a perimenopausal phase. I began at 35, which lasted a good ten years, much before I was symtomatic for Celiac. ...just a though. -

Please save your money. If you are sick because of gluten, it will run it's course. It's not often that we hear about a Chiroprator diagnosing people, but if the diet is helping you, great. But, are other food intolerances his line of expertise?
