  1. I'm sorry you're feeling down. It IS hard in the begining and most everyone goes through a "mourning phase". I hope your family can get a good perspective about what you have to deal with. I generally do all the cooking at home and it's always gluten free. Unless I have company for spaghetti or serve bread for my guests. My family knows the safety...
  2. Kinda quiet around here.......can't imagine why?
  3. Waffles and gravy...totally gross! No one I know............. A definiate return ticket from the Southeast!
  4. LOL - YES.. It's over the top bacon grossness!
  5. The ultimate! Happy Turkey Day!
  6. I, personally would reserve an opinion until I know more facts. Many people here, who post consistantly, have full time jobs. Other than an unusual inconvienience, I have heard no complaints. It would be pretty bad, if someone exploited our disorder for financial reasons. BUT, I will withhold my thoughts until more information appears.
  7. So happy for you Colleen and Rose...keep up the good fight. Brighter days are ahead! Well wishes for the both of you!!!!
  8. YEAH! I've never held the sephter after all these years!
  9. Hello and Welcome! In addition to what Mushroom offered, a positive - full blood panel is conclusive. And scalloping and erosion, is also a large piece of the puzzle and consistant with Celiac Disease. And, add your family diagnostic history. Were you consuming gluten at the time of your blood test? The biopsy could have missed affected areas. How...
  10. I bet Jacquie is more than thrilled!
  11. Yes...good idea! I'm a bit out of the "loop" these days.
  12. Not too sure who "we" is/are, but WE had pork tenderloin, slathered with grain mustard with roasted potatoes and carrots. Great on a cold and windy day. I like the idea of loosening up the topic. Good thought! And a thought for some future threads.
  13. ,too! ..."I bet he shat bunny scat." A quote to live in inPHamy.
  14. Yum..must explore. Ooooh, wouldn't that be good on pumpkin pie??? (<licking lips.) I'm bringing a Smithfield Honey Ham, cornbread stuffing and a crustless pumpkin pie to my daughter's in-laws.
  15. understandable, indeed!
  16. Edy's has Pumpkin Ice Cream (limited edition) which is really quite good! I served it to company with ginger snaps. I personally prefer ice cream in the winter with a good movie. Meatloaf tonight. Hunts Meatloaf Sauce (with some added spices) and ground beef makes a great, EASY and moist meal.
  17. There is no consistancy with this disease. But, if you are diagnosed with Celiac, I would strongly recommend that you continue to eat gluten free. To do otherwise, would be a waiting game for a secondary diagnosis, not as easily remedied as a gluten free diet.
  18. Here is an idea: layered pudding and sugared fresh fruit... topped with cool whip and dusted with cinnamon or nutmeg. Open Original Shared Link It would transport well in a cooler and you could assemble at your destination in wine glasses or similar.
  19. Metta (Mouse) passed away several months ago and was in complete control through her journey and was VERY firm in her wishes. She left nothing undone. She was a pistol and proud of it. And generous beyond belief. It was my pleasure to know her.
  20. Holy Moly - three Black Belts in one family. I would recommend that anyone knocking on your door, do it very politely. Congratulations to the Vincent Family!
  21. Yes, Darvina, I would feel so uncomfortable cooking all that gluten food in my house. My kitchen is small and as careful as I would try to be, cross contamination would be inevidable. My gluten family members like my gluten-free mac and cheese. Gravy can be made with drippings and corn starch. And Pamela's gluten-free Choc. Cake Mix is the best cake...
  22. What of this will you be eating? Are you doing all the cooking? (sorry, I have not read the entire thread).
  23. YES indeed! SO many you have helped as they traversed their new lifestyle.
