  1. Sure, it can be very common for Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid and OsteoArthritis to be associated with Celiac. Many here have those issues. I, after three years gluten free have OsteoArthritis. My doctor has not prescribed steroids, but rather two Aleves in the am and two in the pm. For the time being it seems to work. I am not sure that I can pinpoint...
  2. There are NO false positives with regards to blood tests for Celiac. There are, false negatives. I have talked to several doctors and when they attended med school, there was only a brief reference to Celiac Disease and then, it was considered exceedingly rare. There have been some very rapid changes/research since then, and I believe few doctors are...
  3. If your intent is to be gluten free, you're not ..... "I admit to tasting a cake mix prepared with flour and wheat pasta when cooking for the rest of the family. but in general I avoid pasta, bread."
  4. This is a great article with lots of interesting information. It should generate some interesting discussion. Open Original Shared Link
  5. No worries, except for the stawberries.
  6. Scalloping is classic for Celiac. That with a strong family history and I am sure that you have other symptoms could very well indicate Celiac. Your biopsies may or maynot confirm a diagnosis, as they can be hit or miss. It is very possible that you have not sustained enough damage for positive blood work, which also is not conclusive due to it's inaccuracy...
  7. I tried my for a while. Pamela's Pancake mix with orange marmalade, but the lemon curd was the best. I had a hard time using the correct amount of filling so it wouldn't leak out. They tasted great, though. Let me know how the mini corn dogs work. I really miss "pigs in a blanket".
  8. These are the test that your doctor should order: (all of them) Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA Total IgA level. ....good luck!
  9. Thanks for the follow-up Rachelle. This statement concerns me ".......if wheat and/or wheat extract is directly added to the formula, it will be listed in the Ingredient Statement, on the label. If it is not listed on the Ingredient Statement, then no gluten is directly added to the product", due to the fact that there is no definition of "gluten" and...
  10. Hi Lynn, I guess the best thing you can do is leave the log in information available and just walk away. I compare teenagers (having had two myself) to my Jack Russell...they want to do it, but they want to do it on THEIR terms. Good luck and good to see you again.
  11. You obviously have been going some reading. That's a good thing. There are three ways to diagnose Celiac Disease; 1) blood test which I will list below, 2) endoscopy/biopsy and 3) dietary response. The first two can can inaccurate. Many people here are self diagnosed and have chosen the diet. They are quite comfortable with their decision. The relief...
  12. I see no red flags. HerbOX bouillon granules and cubes are gluten free as well as Swanson's Broth will clearly list.

Of course, yours would be hand crafted from the finest diamonds available and not the commonly use materials fit for the plebeians. There is a bit of provenance attached to this particular head dress. IT was once owned by Liberace.
  14. Depends on what not feeling well means. If she ate something that she shouldn't have because of her Celiac Disease, here is a list of some gluten free meds. If her tummy is upset she can have some apple sauce, rice, bananas. Sometimes you just have to ride it out. Hope you can reach the mom soon. Open Original Shared Link
  15. Celiac can be diagnosed in three ways to date; 1) endoscopy/biopsy of the small intestines 2) positive blood work, and 3) positive dietary response. I don't know what your doctor was looking for, but it wasn't Celiac. Celiac Disease can not be seen in the large intestines. Perhaps, you meant Endoscopy Exam.
  16. YES....Parades!!! We shall have parades and picnics and fireworks. We shall have a celebration fit for Oracle Peter and we shall chant, Peter, Peter, Peter. Have a wodnerful celebration Peter!
  17. I have seen this before, but certainly not often. Shame on P&G. That response is worthy of a boycott (from me). Neutrogena have a very extensive listing of gluten free products and they have a good attitude to boot.
  18. Sorry Julie about Pamela's. REALLY sorry! Guess you'll have to dirve right into these..Beats a cockpot full of potatoes. Open Original Shared Link (CYA statement - have no idea as to the gluten free status.)
  19. Open Original Shared Link Here is a listing that might be helpful. Take caution for cross contamination at a fast food restaurant or any restaurant for that matter. Eating out is your responsibility.
  20. I can't answer that question, but I know that Campbell's Canada and Campell's US have a totally different product listing for gluten. As I mentioned before only Chunkey Chicken Broccoli Cheese and Select Savory Lentil are gluten free soups from Campbell's US. You are smart to call or to e-mail the company.
  21. Positive blood test and positive biopsy are diagnostic for Celiac. A negative results of these test cannot rule Celiac out. A biopsy can be hit and miss and is not considered a 100% diagnostic test, only if positive results. Positive dietary response is also a diagnoses in itself. So, yes, with positive blood test, you do have Celiac. Welcome to the...
  22. OH ALEX!!! I am truly touched. How thoughtful of you. HI PAULA
  23. .......hopefully blowing over to my daughter's former mother-in-law's house, with hideous, putrid fluids on my 5,000 post. .
  24. There was a study submitted by a member here stating that long term use of antacid's prohibited the absorption of Vit D and specifically B-12. Wish I could put my hands on it, but it came from Nancy, I believe in her cardiac file. ding,ding,ding....post 5,000 (awaiting the green slime)
