  1. Good advise from the others. Unless there are other indications that might warrant a hysterectomy, I would be a quick learn and go gluten free. This place will be invaluable to you in the next few months. We're here to help.
  2. A brush off no. Just thought you might want to make a simple phone call and verify for yourself. It took 30 seconds to do it myself. Brachs Candy Corn are indeed free of any gluten ingredients. Have a whole bag full.

  6. The Coca-Cola Company Gluten-free food list from a letter from Coca-Cola dated February 25, 2010: We are able to confirm the following as gluten free: * Coca-Cola * Caffeine free Coca-Cola classic * Coca-Cola Zero * Caribou Iced Coffee * Barq
  7. I would consider that a CYA Statement. In a world of lawsuits and liability, it's becoming more and more common. There really isn't any ways to guarantee a product is 100% free of all contaminants, unless you live in a bubble. Applying the best precautions in an imperfect world, is all you can do. I would drink the coffee.
  8. Buena Vista, Virginia? I remember it well! Under the Students with Disability Act, student with Celiac Disease have to be offered either gluten free options or a private place in the cafeteria for clean food self-preparations. But you have said that you have not been officially diagnosed. I would suggest you speak to the Dean of Students...

  10. Because an allergy is different from an autoimmune reaction. And to your second question...gluten can effect all body parts. Those with Celiac Disease, it (the reaction)is confined in the small intestines. Those with Dermatitis Hepitaformus, it effects the skin and to those with Gluten Ataxia, it can effect the nervous system....all an autoimmune response...

  12. Hershey is a very "unfriendly" company to those of us who read labels for a living. I avoid purchasing their products whenever possible.
  13. My pleasure. This is such a great link, with contact information as well.

  18. Request an anti-deaminated gliadin peptide (DGP) test for your child.
  19. Welcome! According to Dr. Peter Green, Director of the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, the anti-deaminated gliadin peptide (DGP) test is much better than any other test, for children. He also suggests that a suspected child have TWO positive tTG test before they are subjected to an endoscopy and biopsy. It would be important to know...
  20. I believe that we absorb over 70% of intake fluids in the small intestines. Have you recheck everything in your diet. Could some gluten be slipping in through meds, vitamins, lotions, lip balm, shared equipment, or something new you have introduced in the past month? Or maybe your blood sugar is a little off.
  21. Maybe it's not the coffee, but the milk in your coffee. Dairy can have a "gluten-like" effect on some, until healing can take place.
  22. I am sorry that I am not familiar with your previous thread about Prilosec. But I do know that excess Prilosec can cause diarrhea (immediate diarrhea )when overused. It also contributed to absorption issues. It also can be used (abused) as a weight loss technique. Bad idea!
  23. I found Bard's at Total Wine.
