  1. Oh my goodness, bean soup is the easiest to make. Let me know if your want a great bean soup recipe. Much easier than trying to capture this damn mosquito flying around my computer and driving me bloody MADDDDDD!!! I HATE BUGS! .....a harph
  2. For Raven: Open Original Shared Link Many people are surprised to find out how many soups from Progresso are now gluten-free and labeled as such. The Creamy Mushroom soup was what we used for our green bean casserole for Thanksgiving dinner. I thickened it with a little cornstarch and it was absolutely perfect for the dish. To check the gluten-free...
  3. YEAH, what she said!! I tried to edit, but the Skype phone numbers on the Campbell post, or summfin' won't let me. <shrugging shoulders> Campbell Canada has quite of few soup options, compared to the relatively few or none in the US.
  4. Nice to hear from you Campbell. The US would like to have the same available options of soups in Canada. Yup, that would be good! How about it Campbell????
  5. YEAH!!
  6. I have a couple of thoughts, but guessing not knowing more information: 1. If you have Celiac, and not absorbing, you body will go for food where it can find it. Your bottom, the heels of your feet or other fatty parts, can feed your starving body. I have had a lifetime of suffering from "noassital". 2. Not gluten related, but do you where...
  7. Here is a previous discussion about Sensodyne: (although 2 years old, it's still informative)

    ARCHIVED Stress

Scientifically, I don't know if stress can make symptoms worse. But I do know that stress can be a trigger for celiac disease. Generally, stress can turn your systems inside out, but not sure it has anything to do with Celiac. Exercise or power walks might help.
  9. Yes, many people on this forum have issues with MSG. It's not gluten related, but it certainly can bother people. Oh,my manners.....WELCOME!
  10. Please remember, that if wheat is listed in "natural flavorings/flavor", it by law, must be listed if derived from a wheat source. I would suggest you call the 1-800 number on the container or e-mail the company and verify it's gluten or gluten free status.
  11. Open Original Shared Link ***Lists can change without notice. ALWAYS read labels.
  12. On the flip side... Glucose is so highly processed that the offending gluten proteins are removed, rendering it gluten free. It should be safe for most people with Celiac to consume. Open Original Shared Link wheat-based glucose syrups Based on the FDA proposed gluten-free labeling regulation a product can be derived from a gluten-containing...
  13. Here is a good source of information: Open Original Shared Link
  14. This is an interesting article, in reference to the new "fad" weight loss diet: Open Original Shared Link With a few errors.... "It's also used as a thickening agent in ketchup and ice cream. It helps ferment vinegar and alcoholic beverages. It's even in lip gloss and envelope adhesives." Never knew thickening agent is in ketchup or ice cream...
  15. I can't tell you it's gluten free, but it is unlikely that wheat are barley would be in apple sauce. Wheat would have to be listed, by law. Open Original Shared Link Not having a jar in my house, I have bought it frequently, after checking the label.
  16. Yes! In aeroplanes, the shortest distant between two places is not always a straight line. Looping over the North Atlantic is, in fact, the short route. Planes over the North Atlantic have NO means of control/communications. They have over five hours of non-communications. As long as they stay where they were told to be, no problem. Scary isn't it. They...
  17. Most toothpastes are gluten free, but I use Crest. Dove shampoo contains no gluten and I also use Lubriderm lotion.
  18. Interesting, thanks.
  19. I don't think that there is enough research on that. The doctor (on the Today show), said that re-introduction of wheat may be possible in very small quantities, after healing. That may be in conjunction with the 20ppm of gluten tolerated for MOST people with Celiac to consume. (Which soon will be the standard reference range in the US for labeling a product...
  20. Distilled vinegar is considered safe for people with celiac to consume. The process of distillation removes the offending proteins. Open Original Shared Link 3 Distilled white vinegar is safe to consume on the gluten-free diet. Vinegar is a solution made of acetic acid and flavoring materials such as apples, grapes, grain, and molasses. For...
  21. I'm sorry, when you mentioned that you reintroduced wheat, I thought that was a possibility. Well... here is some information you can ponder: Open Original Shared Link Sometimes we need to ask questions, in order to direct members in the proper direction. As a "self diagnosed" gluten intolerant, I would encourage you to have and endoscopy...
  22. Welcome! Since you haven't gotten any satisfaction from your doctors, why not consider the gluten free diet. You can give it a go for several weeks and see how you feel. It's not an overnight fix and it will take some dedication and time, but you may find your answer. I was on prilosec for YEARS and no longer have that need. If you would like...
  23. Open Original Shared Link Advil is indeed gluten free. Have you been tested? Have you considered that you may have a gluten allergy as well as a wheat or gluten intolerance?
  24. Likewise, I did not know that Bausch & Lomb made products other than contact lens stuff. Thank you for posting this. I'm sure it will be helpful to others. My apology for being silly.
  25. Yes, I was concerned for a moment how barley could be an ingredient in contact solution???
