  1. i can't speak to the iron because I wasn't deficient in that, but I am for Vitamin D. My ref. range for my lab was 30-100 for Vit. D. My results were: February 2013 25.3 Non-fasting result (From this result my ob/gyn told me to take 2000 iu a day, but I took a 2000 iu and there was 1000 iu in my multi as well.) May 2013 35.1 Fasting result, so I...

  3. do you know the name of the lab that ran the tests? sometimes you can find their reference ranges online.
  4. I would print out that link for your doctor since Chicago is considered one of the top celiac centers in the country. From what I get, it seems like your doctor is frustrated because he doesn't know the answer, but that spells it out for him there are some around here that had a positive biopsy and negative blood work, so hopefully they'll comment...
  5. welcome check out this link: Open Original Shared Link IMO you've got celiac with that positive biopsy. Do you know which blood tests were run? also do you have a copy of your blood tests? If not, I would suggest getting a copy. In order for blood tests to be accurate you do need to be consuming gluten. here is a complete celiac panel: ...

  7. the blood tests do not require any fasting, but you must be consuming gluten. The big "C" was a big problem for me too before going gluten free, but now it's gotten so much better. Analysis depends on the lab. I have to use Labcorp and would get blood taken on a Friday and results through my online portal on Monday. Here is a list of tests to request...

  12. I'm not sure why selenium is high. Can anyone help me out with that please??? How old is your son? ok here's what I came up with on Quest's website regarding their ref. range range for ttg iga: <4 no antibody detected, so according to that your son did not test positive on the ttg iga. I'm not sure why there is an exclamation point by it, since...
  13. I would suggest getting a copy of your test results, so you can see them for yourself. You can post them on here too for others to look over.
  14. are there any reference ranges printed on the sheet for the ttg iga? Does it say the who the tests were run by? Find out that reference range The tests below are a comprehensive celiac panel. So far your son has only had 1/6 tests. I would push to get the complete panel done especially since there is family history of celiac. Comprehensive Celiac...
  15. any chance you can put a link to that pamphlet please?
  16. I'm sorry you're going through this Some things I've found helpful: -Get copies of all test results. Post them on here and others can help. -Writing down my questions before appointments, so I don't get tongue tied at them. -I've found that going gluten-free significantly helped my GERD, but eating a whole foods diet has made it even better for...
  17. so before diagnosis I ate oatmeal all. the. time. I thought I might try certified gluten-free oats in the future, but that's still a bit off. I've never had any problem with rice, but it just doesn't have the same consistency of oatmeal. Then reading an issue of Simply Gluten Free magazine, I saw a Bob's Red Mill ad and in the corner was Brown Rice Farina...
  18. I realize this thread is a few years old, but I came across it while doing a pharmacy search. I wanted tips to how to go about making sure my prescription is gluten free. I usually go to Walgreens to get prescriptions filled, but after reading that many people had problems with gluten-free verification, I decided to try Target because of this thread. I...
  19. Bare Minerals is one. I love their brushless mascara. They list their products in the FAQ section here: Open Original Shared Link this Youthful Wear line from Physicians Formula was when I bought it, and it was even labeled guten free on the box, though I'd check the box if you do buy it since I can't seem to find it on the website: Open Original Shared...
  20. welcome it is definitely overwhelming at first, but once you start feeling better you'll realize it's all worth it! check out table 1 with foods in this link: Open Original Shared Link!po=2.38095 it makes eating very simple and gives your body the whole food/nutrient dense vit/min your body needs to heal. I would take Lisa's advice and...
  21. thank you although I know it is important to maintain a healthy weight and I'm working on getting mine back down, I am further convinced that weight doesn't show the whole picture. I'm sure my GP was surprised when he saw these!
  22. so I am going to start taking Vit. D2, I know Vit. D3 is better, but it's what my doctor prescribed, so I will give it a try, but if I don't see an improvement I will switch back to D3. I will be taking 50,000 iu of Vit. D2 once a week. My question is does anyone have a brand to recommend? I know that I will have to go to the pharmacy ask what they...
  23. I got my cholesterol numbers back and am very happy with my results! This is the first time I've gotten blood drawn and sent to a lab, which I've read is a bit more accurate than finger prick tests, although they are absolutely a great thing for screening. Here are my results: Labcorp Lipid Panel: My results Ref. Ranges Cholesterol...
  24. these responses are great! I was visiting my parents and watching the news when the weatherman came on and was saying these dew points in the 70s were just too high. That's when I thought, well it is really hot, and I feel the humidity, but yet it's not near as intense for me. I'm spending the majority of my 4th of July outside in the heat and humidity...
