ARCHIVED Dental Cleaning Products
powerofpositivethinking replied to durrsakja's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think I might have gotten gluten from the molding agent when they took the impression for my crown. I'm not 100% positive since I didn't see the label for that one, but I had the weird rumblings in my stomach after that visit. Other than that, no other gluten. I have had multiple reactions to other chemical materials used in crowns and composite fillings... -

ARCHIVED Tests Say Celiac, But No Symptoms
powerofpositivethinking replied to aehills01's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
welcome aehills01 I'm so glad you were able to figure out what was going on with your daughter! ok don't take this the wrong way because I am far from perfect and don't want to sound self-righteous, but as a parent you have the chance to influence your children's lives every day. that is an awesome opportunity, and I'm guessing your daughter wouldn... -

just curious Irish, what age level and subject did you teach? You can only redirect and help so many times before it becomes a lost cause. sometimes students and people come around, sometimes they don't that's been a hard lesson for me to learn, but such is life -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What To Think - Just Got Blood Test Results
powerofpositivethinking replied to lao512's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
here's a good Pub Med Abstract regarding AGA (they list it as antibodies against native gliadin) vs DGP: Open Original Shared Link that's frustrating that they won't test your total igA why don't doctors know if they use ttg iga they have to measure the total iga to make sure it's valid...argh any chance that you take any type of PPI or acid suppressing... -
ARCHIVED Celiacs Diagnosed As Anxiety
powerofpositivethinking replied to mousefan71's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
my anxiety has gotten much better going gluten free! I think it's smart to ask for another blood test, but when you do, insist on a complete celiac panel if it has not already been done. that consists of: DGP iga/igg TTG iga/igg EMA total iga serum-this is a control test that makes sure enough iga is produced to validate the other iga results ... -
ARCHIVED Scary Testing
powerofpositivethinking replied to Soakesie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
just reposting what I did on your other topic: Welcome! get a complete celiac blood test panel done. that consists of: DGP iga/igg TTG iga/igg EMA Total iga serum-this is a control test to make sure you are not iga deficient, and if you aren't it will validate the other iga results good luck! Edit: Ditto to what 1desperatelysavelady... -

hi susan, I know you've got a lot happening right now, but I would highly recommend this book in the future: Open Original Shared Link hmmm with acid reflux, I was told to avoid NSAIDs. if meloxican is an NSAID, and now he is on Prilosec, did he have stomach pain/reflux before the meloxican or was it brought on by that? Just curious

ARCHIVED Dr. Ford Said It Best: Dgp Vs. Aga
powerofpositivethinking replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
geez this is turning out to be quite a process it bothers me when I can't figure something out, and I don't know why it isn't linking... Ok anyway onto the point: This is a screening test of only Deamidated Gliadin Antibodies, but in the "additional information" for this screen it states the following: A negative IgA result in an untreated patient... -
ARCHIVED Dr. Ford Said It Best: Dgp Vs. Aga
powerofpositivethinking replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I can't get it to link correctly, so Plan B if you're interested to see what I'm griping about when you get to the search box put in Gliadin Antibody Profile, IgA, IgG, EIA Edit: If I completely sign-out of my account and close my browser, and then open the browser again as a guest, the first time I click on it the link it brings me to a search... -
ARCHIVED Dr. Ford Said It Best: Dgp Vs. Aga
powerofpositivethinking posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
little bit of a rant... ok so as I continue to research everything, I now have a good grasp on the difference between DGP and AGA and what they do and measure. One of the first things I read was this page by Dr. Rodney Ford: Open Original Shared Link he lays things out in easy to understand terms that I truly do appreciate I have to use LabCorp... -

this is a great thought! I am working on getting my food in check. yes, I need to eat at regular intervals, and I need to put good fuel in my body, but I hate it when it makes people uncomfortable if I don't want to eat. Listen, I'm not going to starve. As long as I have water, I'll make it for awhile. I tend to be an over-sharer at times i've... -
ARCHIVED Positive Tests For My Daughter!
powerofpositivethinking replied to greenbeanie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
so happy that you're getting answers!! i'd say those look like pretty positive results good luck, and I hope they are able to get her in sooner! -
I'm not sure what GIG and RIGA are, but if the endometrial is positive, I'm guessing that means antiendomysial antibodies or EMA iga. If your son's immunoglobulin is normal, I'm guessing that means his iga. If this is the case and that level is normal, that validates the EMA test. The EMA test is 98-100 specific to celiac. see pg. 12 of this report: Open...

ARCHIVED Could It Be Celiacs?
powerofpositivethinking replied to Amaytrain's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
welcome based on what you wrote, I think you should definitely get yourself tested! remember for testing to be valid, you MUST continue to eat gluten until all testing is complete. first you should request a complete celiac panel, which consists of: DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA Total iga serum-this is a control test to make sure you produce enough... -
ARCHIVED Help With Egd Info
powerofpositivethinking replied to varucell's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
sounds like a good step to get those results if it was a few years back, it's possible you did not get screened with the newer DGP iga/igg antibody tests I would ask for a full celiac panel, which consists of: DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA total iga serum-this is a control test to make sure you produce enough antibodies for the iga testing to... -

hmm that seems suspicious. especially if this was noticed visually without use of a biopsy because a lot of times it seems villi changes can only been seen through biopsy samples. did you get the full celiac blood panel? if so, what were your results? make sure you always ask for copies of your test results if you don't do so already -
