  1. try shea moisture products. they are gluten free, and can be found at Target. In fact, they're on sale this week at my local target!
  2. glad it went well!
  3. Hi Kristin, Here's a report I really like, and your doctor should be agreeable to since it comes from his peers: Open Original Shared Link check out page 12 for the table related to percentages of different tests I haven't been able to find a reason for a raised EMA or DGP scores other than celiac. ttg can be raised for a few other reasons...
  4. no problem, and thanks for all the suggestions! time to do some review reading and price comparison shopping
  5. thank you for doing that so much easier and convient to read now. I appreciate it!
  6. thanks for the feedback! I had trouble getting that document to link correctly. oh well, it will have to stay that way
  7. hadn't even thought of that I was just reading about a water pik, and never realized that it cleaned better than flossing. I think it would be a good investment, inside of paying for my dentist's vacations is there any brand or model you'd recommend?
  8. in one of my threads, I've managed to expand it, so that you have to scroll from right to left to read everything, which I don't like. However, it is limited to only that thread, which makes me think I hit something to make it wider, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out what I've hit. this is the only thread that is appearing too wide on my screen...
  9. so I had my dental appointment today. My dentist took one look at my gum tissue and said it was puffy and there was some inflammation. He thinks I may have had a reaction to the bonding agent used to hold the temporary crown in place. In addition, he fixed a gap between the temporary and my real tooth so that food couldn't slide down easily. I had been...
  10. grr this must be so frustrating for you this is a doctor that does not seem to have your best interests at heart. I guess he wants you to feel absolutely terrible with complete villi flattening before a formal diagnosis. clearly you have celiac. can you get your PCP or another doctor you see to give you a clear cut diagnosis? if not, request your records...
  11. I didn't have D, but I was having problems digesting nuts that were not CC, particularly almonds and in addition, coconut flakes. My guess is that because of their high fat and fiber content, it was tearing up my system, so I decided it was best to lay off them for awhile, and I'll try reintroducing in a few months. In the meantime, awhile back I was unintentionally...
  12. rambling and tossing ideas is much appreciated I asked about grinding, but he said my teeth didn't show any wear of grinding. I don't have any enamel issues that I'm aware. I think I've only had 5 fillings. I pretty sure it's a reaction again to the new material that was placed last week. I can't believe that I got a root canal, and felt fine two days...
  13. unfortunately, those two tests do not disqualify you from having celiac. In fact, the first one is to make sure you make enough igA antibodies, which you do, and although EMA is highly specific to celiac, it doesn't become positive until there is major tissue damage. Your low Vitamin D is suspicious. Can you go back and ask specifically for this panel...
  14. thanks for the idea, but I don't think it's that i've never had braces or a retainer, I just have one stubborn tooth haha it's probably not even gluten in the product, but something else I seem to be reacting too. I don't understand how it can hurt when the nerve is gone. It's the same pain I experienced last year when having the filling initially filled...
  15. so I recovered well from the root canal, but now after getting the temporary crown put on last week, it just doesn't feel right. i got the "ditch" from my root canal tooth filled last Monday. I had the sedative material taken out, and then permanent fill placed in my tooth, and then the dentist put on my temporary crown. I have a dull pain, just like last...
  16. coming back to update period number 2 was MUCH more manageable. I still had bad cramps but only had to take Pamprin once. My breasts were only sore two days leading up to it. Hoping this continues, and each one gets less and less painful!
  17. yep, I am in America. try posting a question in the gluten free foods, products category with the heading "Gluten Free Shampoo in UK." sorry I can't be more helpful
  18. it would be great if a standard panel included all of the above tests regardless of where you live I know testing can be expensive, but think of all the savings if you figured out your problem before years and years of health problems. In fact if I had just been given ttg igA, it would have come back negative, but with LabCorp, the lab I have to use for...
  19. hi dozey, just thought i'd throw this out there, but when I was searching for gluten free hair products, I ended up buying the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Shampoo and Condition. I found it at Target, and it is gluten free which is marked on the bottle. I've never had sores on my scalp, but it can get dry, and I've definitely noticed this...
  20. Hi Sammy01, DeaminatedMarcus gave a great list, but I would also add ttg igG onto it. We share a lot of the same symptoms. I've also suffered from constipation and dry skin, particularly my hands. Sometimes even when using lotion, they will bleed. yuck I can also relate to the wounds taking a long time to heal, and easy bruising. I thought...
  21. Hi LadyK i think sitting down and talking with them would be a good choice if you're up for it and think they'd be open to listening. hopefully it will make them think, and they'll come around. maybe it won't be right away, but lately my motto is, "Better late than never." I think my Mom has a problem with gluten, and I've mentioned about getting...
  22. really enjoyed reading this
  23. i have to use LabCorp for my insurance, and I had Vitamin D Hydroxy 25 measured in February, but I just looked on their website and saw Calcitriol 1.25 listed as well. When I call my ob/gyn in a week or two, I can see if they'd be willing to add that also. my plan is to ask for Vitamin D 25 and 1.25 TPO test Lipid Panel, so I can get more accurate...
  24. hi deaminated marcus, that's what i'm having a hard time letting go of since I had the positive score, but negative biopsy. My GI did make the comment saying damage could have been farther down the intestine, but since the "gold standard" in diagnosing is the biopsy, and mine was negative, I'm told I have gluten intolerance vs. celiac. i found this...
