  1. Hi Bbec i also only had a high DGP igG number and everything else fell into the negative range, and I'm not igA deficient. here's the link to my main thread, so I hope it is helpful https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/99439-need-help-with-tests-results-please/
  2. I had my follow-up today and am pretty happy with how everything went. First thing I asked about was my liver/gallbladder ultrasound results. GI doc said everything looked normal and there were no blocked bile ducts. My initial sitz marker x-ray showed a lot of stool, but then by day 4 it looked a lot better and I had passed out all the markers. He did...
  3. Ok, so after I listen to what the doctor thinks...here are my questions. anything else I should add? -Can I be retested with the complete celiac panel since I’ve been consuming a lot more gluten over this past month and was gluten light prior to the week before my initial appointment when I ate it at almost every meal? Can I also have the gene test f...
  4. Thanks so much for the quick reply, Lisa glad to hear if I would ask for a bone scan it doesn't sound out of the question. the ob/gyn only gave input about my low vitamin D level, and when I asked if anything else was low, I was told that a copy was sent to the GI so he can follow-up with the other results. I wouldn't have know about the low K without...
  5. Free T3 was requested, but it wasn't included, however the thyroid antibodies were not requested. I was going to wait to see what the GI says about things on my follow-up on Thursday. I did have TSH and T4 tested last year, so here's a comparison: April 2012 Results TSH 2.490 with ref range of .450-4.5 T4, Free 1.09 with ref range .82-1.77 February...
  6. not good to hear you went to the ER, but happy that you will get an endoscopy sooner!! Hope you're feeling better today
  7. My results showed up in my Labcorp account this morning! I already knew about the low vitamin D, but turns out I have a few other low and high results. Any input would be greatly appreciated Name of Test/My Result/Reference Interval/Low or High Result Flag Thyroid TSH 1.330 .450-4.500 T4, Free (Direct) 1.15 .82-1.77 ...
  8. Was the gliadin test definitely the DGP test and not the AGA tests since DGP is more sensitive and specific to celiac? I had one doctor appointment while still in high school where they made me feel stupid, and based on that incidence, now I tend to wait a long time before going to see a doctor. My past three appointments I've gone in with information...
  9. out of all those tests, the only one my ob/gyn doctor said was abnormal was low Vitamin D, and I've been told to supplement with 2000 iu a day, and then get it checked again in three months. the results are also being sent to my GI for next week's appointment, but I don't have a hard copy yet. Hoping they show up in my Labcorp online account soon!
  10. so I'm still waiting for results of my vitamin/nutrient testing, but as I was reading some more on Dr. Ford's site I came across this info Open Original Shared Link I will be printing this out!
  11. Lisa, thanks for the info! I had my ob/gyn apt today and asked the doctor to order the following: Complete Metabolic Profile Complete Blood Count Vitamins A, B (B1, B2, B6, B12), D, E, K Ferritin/iron Magnesium Folate Potassium Calcium Zinc Copper (I couldn't get this one, because they didn't have the proper storage equipment required...
  12. I think it's funny you mentioned about your parents because I'm 27, but it still matters to me what they think too! Although weight wise I'm "healthier: according to my GP, it seems I can trace my problems back to when I lost weight in the first place. My mom thinks i'm being overly dramatic with my bowel issues, but I know what was normal before, and that...
  13. just curious...did the allergist tell you it looks like you have celiac based on the DGP igG score alone or in combination with the potassium and vitamin D level? I've read a few of your other posts, and it seems we have a lot in common my thread and numbers are here http://www.celiac.co...ults-please/ I only had a strong positive for the DGP IgG and...
  14. i have my lovely ob/gyn appointment this week and thought I would ask that doctor if she would be willing to order the CMP for me. I have to use LabCorp for my insurance, and this is what their CMP covers: Alanine aminotransferase (ALT/SGPT); albumin:globulin (A:G) ratio; albumin, serum; alkaline phosphatase, serum; aspartate aminotransferase (AST/SGOT...
  15. I will certainly ask for one at my follow-up. Thanks!
  16. Lisa, I'm glad you were diagnosed and are on your way to recovery!! The abdominal bloating frustrates me the most. I do ab exercises, but when you can never pull your stomach in the whole way, it gets frustrating because it never feels like I am doing it the best I can I can also tell when my face bloats because my eyelids get droopy, and I get a lot...
  17. so i've completed all my tests for my follow-up GI apt on February 21st, and so far I don't know the results of my gallbladder/liver ultrasound, but I've gotten outcomes on the other two. I've posted already, but for the full celiac panel, I scored high on the DGP igG test only, and I ate gluten at almost every meal in the week leading up to it, but I was...
  18. here's a link to the thread about my test results and questions my main one is continuous bloating and frequent constipation, but in the WGO paper, they are listed in the non-classic symptoms portion on pg. 7. i've tried gluten free for three weeks and things started to improve, but then I read that you needed to be on gluten for the testing...
  19. hi! i had a full celiac panel done by Labcorp, and my DGP igG was also the only thing that came back positive. For my lab, a strong positive was greater than 30 and I scored a 43. I've been researching info to get ready for my follow-up GI appointment and found this article to be very helpful Open Original Shared Link page 8 gives a clear cut diagram...
  20. so as i'm getting ready for my follow-up GI appointment, I've been reading up on endoscopy. to me the capsule encoscopy seems much more appealing...i wouldn't have to be put under, plus it goes through your entire small intestine even in difficult-to-reach places. i know a biopsy wouldn't be taken with the capsule, but if it can give you more access to...
  21. i've also been browsing this report from the World Gastroenterology Organisation. IMO, my GI doc should see this report as a very credible source since it's published by his peers! Open Original Shared Link at the top of p. 7 it discusses Nonclassic symptoms, which have bloating and constipation listed, so I will definitely be highlighting that ...
  22. Lisa, great video!! i'm going to post the link in this thread Open Original Shared Link I love how they explain things in easy to understand terms. very helpful!
  23. I completely agree about Miralax! I took it for a week, and had a little relief, but just continued to feel more and more bloated, so I stopped. i have found the most effective combination for myself to be a highly absorbable magnesium supplement, the one i've used is called Super Magnesium and it's gluten free from GNC in addition to Citrucel caplets....
  24. does anyone have any background info on the University of California San Diego Research Center for Celiac? Open Original Shared LinkOpen Original Shared Link the information on their site is going to be very helpful for me when I visit my GI, and they explain things in simple terms helpful quotes: "Only a small portion of affected people manifest the...
