  1. Well we've got an appt for 2:45 tomorrow (Friday). I don't deal well with unknowns. Not knowing what he knows about celiac if anything, and even if he know abou that, if he knows that a person can have serious celiac-like reactions without a positive biopsy or bloodwork. Because I was MESSED UP this time a year ago. I could barely walk, and had so many...
  2. Oooo.... You're good.... I'll have to keep that one in my back pocket! He knows all that cumulative damage stuff. "Knows" is a pretty shaky word in this instance though. I think that he'll come on board eventually. I'm not worried for the long-run, just not looking forward to any short-term fights. But hey, if your wife has a genetic...
  3. Thanks for all the great advice! I was going to bring her Enterolab results, but bringing his curriculum vitae, etc. is a great idea. The pubmed article too. I don't even know what to say about my husband. He says that we can't just up and decide something is wrong with us because we're not doctors. But then if you bring up something by a doctor...
  4. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it! I knew he wouldn't want to put her gluten-free just with Enterolab. He says we're not doctors. And it's probably because she's not eating the best quality of food. (Very picky eater. Hey she gets all four food groups, which is better than some people do.) So it probably has to do more...
  5. Thanks guys. I told my husband when he got home from work and he's been pretty quiet about it, but then again so have I. He didn't seem surprised at all. Time will tell if there are going to be any issues with his family or anything like that. I'm feeling pretty okay. I found out that there's a R.O.C.K. support group that meets near my husband...
  6. I had negative blood and negative biopsy. I also had a lot of pain. I wasn't an athlete, but I also went from living a normal life, to barely being able to walk. There were a couple of years there where I was basically trapped in my house because I couldn't get my kids into their carseats without having so much pain that even if we did go anywhere, there...
  7. Gluten Sensitivity Stool Test Fecal Antigliadin IgA 15 (Normal Range <10 Units) I was kind of expecting this, but I was hoping that it would be negative. It was easy for me to go gluten-free because I knew how bad I felt. It's going to be harder with her. Harder for me than her I'm sure... I'm totally ahead of the game on the food. I...
  8. Candida overgrowth? It can get especially bad after a lot of antibiotics. With the gastro stuff, and especially the gas, I'd highly suspect that. Nancy
  9. I have the Cuisinart Breadmaker. LOVE IT!!! Just the fact that it has a gluten-free setting is great. I just use it with mixes. My favorite is Pamela's Amazing Wheat-free Bread Mix. It is truly amazing. My husband and kids love it and it's even really good untoasted as PB&J. I haven't done much experimenting at all with it, so I can't fill...
  10. The overeating may go away as your body heals. That's what happened to me. I was one of those people who was always either eating, or trying to resist the urge to eat. After I was gluten free for a while, I think it was like a month, my appetite completely went away. The last thing I wanted to do was eat, and I'd often forget to eat because there was...
  11. Awesome! Thanks for posting that. I'm crossing my fingers for the Butterscotch, the Spice Drops and the Chocolate Stars. Nancy
  12. Oh my goodness... That made me cry. I'm so happy for all of you. Nancy
  13. Mmmm... KFC. Okay, now I'm craving that... Cancelling my previous order, oops, I mean answer . Nancy
  14. Chevy's chips and salsa. I used to LOVE that stuff. I know that the salsa is gluten-free, but the chips are fried in the same oil as everything else, so it's contaminated. I've gotten the salsa to have with other chips, but it's just not the same. Those chips were so good. After I found out about celiac, it made so much sense why I used to get queasy...
  15. I was intolerant to soy at first. I think it was for two or three months. I also had dairy intolerance, which is still coming and going. Nancy
  16. You know, I saw someone else mention that too!! I wasn't getting my hopes up, but I've got my fingers crossed that she ends up doing that too. It really makes sense.
  17. Awesome Katydid!! How funny is that? And there's so many great ideas here. I think it would be a great thing. I'd definitely order them. I like the idea of a newbie basket too. I never thought of doing that. None of my suspected celiac friends and family have decided to get tested yet though. Nancy
  18. Yea, I was thinking that if her test results come back positive I might pull her out of preschool for a few weeks or a month anyway just to get her eating under control. She's a very picky eater anyway, and the change to gluten-free might be a struggle. There are already things that are gluten-free that she loves, so I'm halfway there. But it might be...
  19. I was just looking online to order a gift basket for a friend of mine. She just got her kids back after they spent their first summer with their dad. She was a stay-at-home-mom, and is going through a divorce. So this is the first summer they had been apart, or actually the first time they've been away from each other for more than a few days. Looking...
  20. Yea, normally something like this would just make me mad. Bad customer service makes me screaming blue furious. But I'm a little concerned that a fellow celiac might be getting glutened. I hope she eventually at least gives it a try. Sigh. Nancy
  21. Mmmm.... Nestle. Thanks for the list. Hey, don't you have some doctor's appt's this week? How are you feeling? Nancy
  22. I'm pretty much just worrying and obsessing here, because I'm still waiting for my DD's enterolab results. My husband and I have decided to fly below the radar and not talk to her pediatrician about it to get an official diagnosis if her results come back positive. We'd be a little worried about insurance. My husband's in the mortgage industry and who...
  23. I don't have problems with potatoes, but I've seen a few people on here mentioning intolerances to nightshades, which includes potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. Maybe others that I don't recall. Found a couple links for you- Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  24. LOVE Monster. So does my husband.
  25. I just did it like two seconds ago and it worked for me when I clicked on Take Action. I was able to complete the survey with no problems. ??? Nancy
