A year is a long time ! And half and hour away isn't too far away. Relationships can be so good and so tough at the same time. I could tell you some stories! But I don't like to talk about the bad ones anymore. Be sure he takes good care of you. Can I ask why the no contact/talking rule? I wish I could have one of those with my ex (my sons dad) Must...

ARCHIVED New Here, Need Some Opinions Dh Hives Eczema
Di2011 replied to clairedevaux's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Hi eatmeat4good, I have been incredibly strict with my eating/handling of pretty much everything lately. Tonight when I read this I kind of had a crazy moment. Lots of people post about sals being a problem with Celiac/intolerance etc but I hadn't read it in relation to DH. So now, after 6 months on this forum, and 6 months head to ankle I finally read... -
ARCHIVED I Am So Angry

Soon to be unemployed A$$hole -
I work in a kitchen that feeds school camp groups. Pretty much every week there is at least one student/teacher that is gluten free. On average there are about 4-5 special diets in every 100 and this kitchen often feeds up to 200 at a meal. This week there has been one gluten-free guy. So tonight I arrive at work and, as I usually do, ask the chef (qualified...

It sounds like you are a determined young woman! Keep it up! Eat well, drink lots of water and work out at the gym three times a week just as you said! It is good to take control of whatever you can especially when it feels like the gluten has been boss! BTW I know what you mean about family. Can be very hard to handle. I heard a funny story yesterday...

My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer and I had thought it unrelated to digestive disorders. However I did a search on this forum and was... well .. alarmed. Can anyone give me any information/experience with this cancer as it relates to gluten? I have googled etc but can't seem to read much which will help

These are good tricks! I've been going through a subtle conversion at home so my 9y/o doesn't notice we are gluten free and these are working like magic. I'm not really sure but I think he might have got a really severe case of "anti gluten free" from family. Kids love stuff on sticks and he loves sherperds pie@! Anything that isn't lick "meat and 3 veg...

ARCHIVED Biopsy Today
Di2011 replied to SilverSlipper's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi Silverslipper, Your girls are lucky to have you! It is tough to see your own children live through that and a double whamy knowing it was you that made the decision to make it happen. You have a good positive outlook and your kids will love you for it. Can you let us know who the great GI is? There might be others in your area that can benefit from... -

Hi Natzag! Welcome to the forum. What on earth does "Natzag" mean or represent?? Hope you don't mind me asking. I'm 38y/o mum to Liam 9y/o and Gluten Free for about 3 months (I had LOTS of mistakes and temptations for a few months before that). I live in Australia. Where is home for you? I'm going to give you a list of things that have happened to...

ARCHIVED I Suspect I Am Gluten Intolerant. Any Advice?
Di2011 replied to LOWNskater52's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
ditto for me too. Dry and low humidity here in Canberra. We have a saline wash called Fess that has been good for me. My sinus drip is at about 10% compared to 6 months ago, no more blood etc etc. Mornings are still a bit rough when I have to clear it all out but sooo much better than it has been in years. I started gluten-free in June but lots of mistakes... -
NEITHER WILL I.. EVER I'm a single mum of one and that has been hard enough.

What a fun bunch you all are! It is so nice to have a laugh. Neighbours must think I am crazy laughing here at home on my own. My son is loving having fun mum back. Mushrooms: I eat them nearly every day, versatile and such an easy preparation compared to most other ingredients!! Shared facilities are evil and those that don't declare it when questioned...

ARCHIVED Airborne Gluten--How Much And Where
Di2011 replied to Strawberry-Jam's topic in Super Sensitive People
My rather nasty experience working in a bakery has made me physically and mentally VERY intolerant to airborne. I try to avoid walking in the bread/bakery areas in stores. The few times I have handled gluten-free flours haven't given me any trouble but I have come out of some stores in a mighty mess. The stuff needs to be rounded up and incarcerated permanently -
ARCHIVED Day 86 Of Going gluten-free And Not Feeling Good, Help?
Di2011 replied to KiwiBrit's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Kiwi Brit, So are you a Kiwi in UK or Brit in NZ? It does seem young for menopause but not unheard of. I don't react to soy but I have read a lot~! Sounds a little similar to some peoples reaction to soy. Salicylates allergy symptoms might be worth checking too. Perhaps you could test but be careful. I tend to wait until someone (or at least... -

I'm Australian. My maternal side is German. There was a considerable migration from Germany/Poland in the mid to late 1900's primarily due to religious turmoil/persecution. My ancestors settled in an area of Queensland that is more moderate but similar in climate. They farmed and were cheese makers. My paternal side is orginally Irish. Probably convicts...

Oh my I know how it has been for you! I have always loved anything that wasn't "meat and 3 veg" (not sure if that is an Aussie saying). Lots of flavour, spices etc I'm reckoning that Asian (Indonesian/malay/korean/japanese etc) from scratch might be my saviour. Lots of rice, fresh spices etc Once upon a time and until very recently the Asian nations didn...

Freedom foods are one of my main production line foods that I buy. I seem to be super-super sensitive but the Freedom foods I have never had a problem with. I didn't know Aldi stocked Gluten-Free bread. I might check that out. Convenience fish I have missed!!! If I can't find it our local Woolies I might ask if they could stock it. I live at Sutton...
