  1. I wonder what, collectively, celiac and gluten sensitive people could do to change the situation? It will be the only way to get beyond these kind of anger/sadness responses we have to reading these horrible stories. If only we could collectively petition or march on Parliament/White House/Medical schools/AGRICULTURE MINISTRIES etc and demand action!
  2. I've head to toe itching from June this year. I messed around with mistakes, tempations and after month or so of grief I got serious about going gluten-free. I started healing but I would still be itching all day/night. NOTE: This is extreme and certainly not necessary for most forum members. But CindyLouWho26 you might like to hear what is finally...

ARCHIVED Did She Get Over It?

That makes me sad If gluten is her problem and she dealt with it now just imagine the great things she could do with her life! You really are between a rock and a hard place.

ARCHIVED Did She Get Over It?

This makes me mad. I avoided breakfast for 30+ years I didn't like pizza I didn't like pasta and it goes on and on... I really hope that you give this girl some support so she doesn't have 38 years of "okay" but actually feeling like crap I know it is hard (my 9y/o son has the "gluten free is bad" already
  5. OMG Auzzi you HAVE TO get this published! I've gone super dooper strict (for DH control) but crave OH SO CRAVE some flavour. So many of these suggestions I can use! THANKYOU
  6. Seafood is my absolute favourite food on the planet. I've been diligently avoiding it for months. Tonight for a special celebration Mum had a family/friends to have oysters and prawns. It is a summer tradition for us to eat lots of seafood. Anyway.. I had a reaction within minutes. I wonder what other peoples experience with the iodine/seafood has been...
  7. I think this is probably anywhere?? I look at people now and think 'get off the gluten'. anyways.. back to topic... you might be celiac if you feel/look like crap Aim should be to test babys at birth...
  8. I know it seems like you have been victimised but the reality is that Child Services exists to keep kids safe. In your case it is obviously a mistake but PLEASE keep in mind that these people keep abused children from being further treated so. Like gluten intolerance, child abuse is an imperfect science.
  9. My all over DH has gone into a mad frenzy so my sense of humour is somewhere well below the skin, literally. I just couldn't help but think that each of us have our own set of symptoms/problems and when new members come on this forum they are (as I was) in a pretty bad state, physically and mentally. To go to a car or similar forum and read about how...
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends and helpers. I hope it was a nice occasion for you all.
  11. Yes all so true... and I was having a bad night
  12. so perhaps this topic is not required ? for newbies ? please?
  13. This was my first post. I was a mess and didn't have a clue.
  14. how long is a piece of string everyone is so different so looking back at my "journey". I think back to where I was and what I was going through and it seemed different to all the norms. I think what most gluten intolerants go through (before knowing what is the biggest of problems and getting to know all of our experience) is something that seems so unique...
  15. Oh my isn't this the most amazing yet bizarre of "ah-ha" moments!!!??!! I had mine about 2 weeks ago. The washing up was done, clothes washed, floors clean, vaccumed and I was sitting at the table wondering what was next... "ah-ha" was this what some normal/healthy people actually do????????????????????????????
  16. You have to post photos to flickr or another online photo website and then add the link to that webpage on your post. ((only way I've found out anyways!))
  17. Two weeks is a flicker in most peoples recovery time. You need to be very patient. Are you vegan or vegetarian by choice? I use to eat very little meat just because I didn't want/need to but now it is an absolute mainstay of my diet. I found dairy and juices to be a big problem in my first few weeks. Dairy made me want to vomit and juice (any kind...
  18. Are you or dad gluten intolerant, have a gluten free house? Was he ever breast fed?
  19. Sorry.. there is a language on this forum that we should call "glutenedish" or something. D= diarrhea or depression DH= dermatitis herpetiformis ((DH is the skin form of celiac)) You should post some photos of your walls! They sound divine. Have you checked that any medications and household (cleaning, dishwashing, clothes, bathroom) are not gluten...
  20. Hi Charlotte, Welcome to the forum. Lots of helpful members here to help you along the way. I also had to quit my bakery job, back in June. I find it ironic that we had to get so close to the poison to recognise it as such! I still can't handle being around flour. I don't seem to have the same allergy like symptoms with gluten-free flour, thankfully...
  21. Deacon's Garden, I've had to be super-dooper strict the past 2-3 months gluten free and finally seeing some healing happening on my wrists and hands. If your hands are gluten related it might take yours a while too. BTW I hadn't had any ezcema etc prior to my last day at the bakery and my wrist/hands look much like this: Open Original Shared Link as...
  22. Can you tell us more about the pains he is having? Where is it - general or specific? What type of pain (achy, pinpointed at a particular area or burning for example)? After any particular food or meal? How long has been strictly gluten free? (no judgments on here, it took me a while too get serious about gluten-free. My 9y/o son is horrified at...
  23. My experience was identical to yours itchy. Started at the ankles the first day of my last day working at a bakery. By the end of the six hours I had some from knees to torso. Over the next few weeks my upper arms and butt became insanely itchy and densely covered. My lower arms, then hands (all over) were the last to come. It was a bit scary this stage....
  24. Firstly it may well be gluten intolerance. If I was a gambler I'd put money on it. Second try and get copies of all your test results. There are member on here who are excellent at interpreting them and they will come in handy for any future medical visits. Were you tested for celiac? If so what were these results? Third, do you want or need a diagnosis...
  25. woops. this tree is even worse the one I tried. It took out all the formating. Lets call it bamboo.
