Open Original Shared Link This one looks pretty good. You could replace the caramel soy sauce with maple syrup/brown sugar/golden syrup (or equivalent) and some salt (or alternative salty ingredient). Open Original Shared Link - also seems okay If you can find a good pre-made gluten-free mix you should try it. We have a brand here called Ayam...

Rendang has loads of fresh spices and slow ((very slow and long)) cooked beef (although Indonesians would originally and often still now use kerbau - buffalo). Indonesian versions tend to be pretty hot/spicy. Some of our Aussie supermarkets have Rendang spice mix but not sure if Gluten Free - I haven't been brave enough yet with having to restrict my diet...

ARCHIVED Was I Diagnosed?
Di2011 replied to EmilyD's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Emily, Sounds like you have joined our Gluten free family. Don't let the doc dictate. It is your body and your sanity. Does your brain/body/soul tell you to stay on gluten? -
Oh my I have missed my Indonesian foods. Do you cook Rendang? We have a great brand here Ayam who seem to have a good/reliable gluten free range so I am going to get a bit adventurous. Yummo There are a few products (gluten I've presumed, but look yummy) on our Aussie supermarket shelves that look like your Kruidnoten. Not sure what they are called though...

Lucky I don't keep much booze (we often call it grog - I think that is Aussie) at home. You have to BYO I'd be happy to feed you all though -

You might want to provide our forum gurus with details of your diet and medications. Diet and medications seem to be most important in getting a response from the members with similar circumstances as yours especially what made a positive difference. -

Open Original Shared Link Has anyone had any good/bad experience with Ayam brands? I tried one (GadoGado) a couple of weeks ago and it seemed okay. Indonesia is like my second home so been missing these flavours whilst I get the body sorted. The company must be pretty keen to keep the market place happy as that web page has "(Independently tested by... -
ARCHIVED Dh After Going Gluten Free? Dr. Says Not Possible
Di2011 replied to Jortyle's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Hi Jortyle, Is that from blood test? Very little is really known about DH so tests that indicate you are IgA Deficient are virtually meaningless when it comes to your skin condition. There are stats/studies showing plenty of IgA deficient Celiacs also. Open Original Shared Link -
And in the mean time start getting yourself believing that you ARE. At some point you may have to tell people that you ARE celiac/gluten intolerant even if the doc tells you otherwise. BTW If you ask me the "gluten free is expensive" line is a myth. Buy bulk fresh foods and cook in bulk. Simple, healthy and you will feel good.

Di2011 replied to jumpingjuniper's topic in Super Sensitive People
Hi jumpingjuniper, I am not celiac but have crazy DH. I didn't realise what gluten was doing to my head/brain/emotions until I went strictly gluten-free. In hindsight I wonder how it could get so bad without someone inquiring. Anyways... I went gluten-free in June/July but so many mistakes etc that by early October I realised I had to get really really... -

Di2011 replied to CNV2855's topic in Super Sensitive People
It sure is hard isn't it. I've gone from being overweight to being scared of how much weight I've lost in the past week or two. My DH is still an every minute of every day nightmare. Mentally I think we (supersensitives) have a tough challenge from day to day. Nowdays I won't even go onto gluten-free recipe websites or the threads on this forum that are about... -
ARCHIVED GAPS Diet For The Poor?
Di2011 replied to Strawberry-Jam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
A mortar and pestle might be handy for some of those jobs mentioned above. If you get one that isn't too small you could cut fruit and semi-juice in it. Great for pastes, herbs etc. Here in Australia they are cheap at our Asian food shops. There are some interesting websites for recipes that are specifically for mortar and pestle too. BTW Bicarb soda... -
Thank you all sooo much!! Plenty of homework for me today!

I've been seriously diet restricted for about 3 months now. My diet is so restricted that I can test everything - everything that goes in through my mouth or skin. I wait an appropriate time for each and every reaction to my DH. Nothing otherwise " new " goes in until I know the DH remains calm. Today I had the most minimal contact ((how much iodised salt...

love2travel, I think you will be the best - best gluten free cook/chef we've ever had on board our crazy cruise ship / tv chef program or something. We NEED you! All the different cuisines you can help us with (gluten-free), substitute (gluten-free) ingredients for our favourite dishes. I reckon that you will be my "Jamie Oliver". -
My bosses partner is diagnosed with heart disease. Tonight she divulged much more than ever before details of her condition etc. Her specialist has just increased her medications to what she indicated were crazy levels. She is overweight but has phsyical employment and eats very little which made me wonder if grains or gluten could be a problem. She had ...

Has anyone tried pepe's guacamole ? We get it from costco here in Canberra. It is made by Simpson Farms(Qld): simpsonfarms.com It is labeled gluten free and tastes pretty good too. My DH doesn't like the salt and/or the E415 (xanthan gum) but I thought I'd share the product with you to enjoy! -

Di2011 replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
I should explain my response. I'm not a "wasting disease" typical case. overweight, avoided breakfast, didn't like sandwiches, pasta etc etc .. overweight and lethargy.. so must be lazy and need to get a life. I wonder if there was serious and sufficient research that there would be a not-celiac but alternative "disease" for us that are bloated, overweight... -

Oh I know how bad that war was but maybe.. just maybe .. it may have sped any research about gluten intolerance. It wasn't a wanted war but I think that it created an absence of grains which was a seriously important development in the understanding the "wasting disease" aka celiac but unfortunately an understudied/unexpected experient. I don't think... -
ARCHIVED Just Diagnosed With Early Signs Of Celiac Disease
Di2011 replied to jhicks's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi jhicks, As you can see from the comments above and any other topics you may have read - you are LUCKY. This is the first post I have read (6months) where anyone has mentioned ANYTHING about "early stages" of celiac. Your doc is possibly much more aware of the condition than most others. If you don't think they are so informed please let us know. Go...
