  1. While I wouldn't say it's typical, it's certainly not unusual. Many people find that when they go gluten-free they become more sensitive to smaller and smaller amounts--as in cross contamination. It happened to me--I'm almost 5 years in and I am very sensitive. I take my own food to other people's homes, but I do eat at my local PF Changs and Outback....
  2. Recently at Borders, Mark literally saved a little boy from falling down the escilator. We saw what was likely about to happen and went running over--the mom was in an aisle looking at books and hardly blinked an eye when I told her he was about to take a tumble. Scared the living daylights outta me! Rah-shell--enjoy yer empty house
  3. Not a family member, but I dream about a dead person now and again and it's always nice to see him. Actually, last night I slept better than I have in a while--my neck/shoulder didn't wake me up....anyway, I was dreaming a normal, pleasant dream--woke up for a couple minutes, and when I fell back asleep the dream resumed
  4. I'll bet she is looking forward to being back in her own bed! Kicked up our heels last night, did we??
  5. Go to the green box with your username at the top right of the page. In the dropdown, choose "my settings". In the gray band, choose "profile". Select "change avatar". From there, you can click on "browse" to upload a picture. When completed, hit "save changes" at the bottom of the page
  6. Any abnormal amount of rain? Leakage of any kind? Electrical problems?
  7. I had very definite horizontal indentations on both of my thumbnails. They went away after being on the diet for a while, never to return. All of my nails--both finger and toe--are so much stronger and healthier now.
  8. What a coincidence--I had one of those too!
  9. You took the high road, Jason--you did the right thing. I have to add that I understand completely the rage and frustration you felt towards him, and how good it would have felt for that one second to toss your drink in his face.
  10. Glad you enjoyed it, Laura I actually had a loaf in my hand at WF--it looked delicious and soft but I couldn't try it because of the tapioca It's so great, though, that they've managed to come out with a good gluten-free bread--finally!
  11. I agree with this line of thinking, too. I don't do well with lectins either, except dairy which I was completely off of for over 5 years before trying it again. I positively can not do brown rice. Jason, maybe try omitting that first and see if it makes a difference.
  12. Good gawd--that sounds awful. The poor thing Lucky he has you there to take care of him. Youngun's selling off their girlfriends
  13. Jason, you mean Lara Bars--right? I'm thinking because of the date and pecan. Luna Bars aren't gluten-free, they contain oats. They also contain lots of soy. I'm also thinking it has to be something you are eating every day. Have you tried a rotation of limiting one thing at a time? Tedious, but effective.
  14. They've been in there bubbling away and smell incredible. Hope they taste as good as they smell......
  15. This is what I decided to do--took cubed sweet potatoes, drizzled wif olive oil and honey, sprinkled wif garlic powder and salt. Sounded good, and much easier than making a cheese sauce.
  16. How good is it to see you back here where you belong, lady??? :D
  17. Oh yes, bloating happens! It can be a symptom, or a sign that you have eaten something that you're intolerant to. Gluten, of course--even a trace, dairy, soy, corn, etc are some common things that can trigger it. You may want to try keeping a simple food diary--it can be most helpful in determining what is causing what.
  18. The pins and needles feeling is one of the many possible symptoms of Celiac. I had it in my lower legs, arm, and face. It subsided gradually with the gluten-free diet--a helpful supplement to use would be vitamin B12 (sublingual). I used it for several months--it took about 18 months for the neuropathy to go away completely.
  19. Hee! We shoulda got together and had some wodka Have phun, all of youse! Trying what to decide to make wif dinner--au gratin potates or Julie's roasted sweet potatoes.....<thoughtphulphace>.....
