I got a crash course on floaters last month when my husband suddenly experienced a flash of light followed by lots of floaters in one eye--something that came on suddenly and he had not experienced before. A trip to the doctor led to an evening at Wills Eye Hospital ER (Philadelphia). The retina specialist there explained that floaters are common and...

  10. The syrups, the last I checked, are gluten-free at Starbucks. I try to limit sugar, but occasionally order my latte with Classic syrup and have never had an issue. The best way to know if a particular drink or ingredient at Starbucks is gluten-free is to call them at the corporate 800 number.

  13. There are other varieties of Ener-g breads, I tried the white early on and thought it was awful. Don't remember a distinctive smell but the taste and texture were enough to make me never buy it again. In past years, I used GFP French Bread that I made and then cut into cubes for dressing. Delicious. This year I am trying Whole Foods gluten-free...
  14. I used a 15 oz. can of Libby's Pure Pumpkin. I didn't frost the cookies (just spread plain cream cheese on them, lol) but cream cheese frosting would be great with them or the muffins.
