  1. Thanks Julie--I didn't know that. Is it just plain powdered sugar then?
  2. Yep--it's in there! Right on the label--which I probably should have read first Anyway, if my little story helped any corn sensitive people, I'm happy! Never tried arrowroot. I pretty much stick to potato starch. Cecile withdrawals! I don't blame you--it would have been driving me nuts! Actually, just now my son, Matt was using...
  3. Thanks, Andrea Could be worse--and I learned a valuable lesson--no more confectioners sugar allowed in the house. I actually googled a little and found out that I can make my own--2-3 tbsp. of potato starch to a cup of sugar--put in a blender and pulverize! Live and learn!
  4. Hi Celia--nice to see you back on! I have to go and make dinner now--I'll be back later. Hope you had a good day
  5. I'm not feeling so hot, and it's all my own stupid fault. All the talk about ice cream earlier--I made some banana/chocolate chip/cinnamon ice cream (Vance's). I used confectioner's sugar instead of regular sugar. I had a nice bowl when it was fresh out of the machine--topped it with sliced almonds--it was so good! The bad news is that since about an...
  6. I've been getting a chuckle out of it too, Lisa You are SO not the only one old enough to remember those commercials! I almost forgot--I use the Immodium Caplets when I have to be somplace and you-know. They've saved my life many times
  7. Cecelia/Celia is only on at night for now--her son is using the computer during the day. I miss her, too!

  10. See?--it's contageous
  11. Hi there Julie I have been off dairy for over 2 years now! Longer than gluten. I just use the Dairi Free--it hits the spot when I just want something cold and creamy. You're welcome! Yes, Rachel--if you get all better, you won't want to leave our land, will you?
  12. That is some wonderful news! I sure hope that this is "it" for you
  13. BUMMER I bet you're gonna keep yours in the freezer, too from now on! All this talk about ice cream--I think it's time to make some more this afternoon--it sounds good.
  14. I have the Cuisinart machine, also. It is very easy to use--I keep the bucket in the freezer all the time so I never have to wait if I want to make ice cream. Donna--I don't eat dairy, either. I use Vance's Dari Free in mine. It also has no fat--I discovered that using a banana or two blended into your ingerdients make the frozen ice cream softer...
  15. Hi Susan, I'm glad that you feel that you can come to us and get your feelings out in the open. I think that you are very insightful, and while I'm so sorry that some of your family members continue in their unhealthy ways, you have risen above a lot of obsticles. You live your life with a sense of humor, but don't gloss over the "bad stuff". Your healthy...
  16. eLaurie--You're going to fit in here just fine
  17. I have a refrigerator that has a water filter built in. I was still getting sick a lot, even though I have eliminated a lot of foods from my diet. I came across some information (from Andrea, on another thread) and found out that those filters use coconut hulls in the filtering process. I am very sensitive to coconut. Since I have switched to spring water...
  18. So thankful that the news continues to be good! Keeping the prayers and good thoughts flowing.
