  1. Thanks, Karen--I may try that. My scalp isn't dry, but my hair is. I'm trying to grow it a little bit, and want to keep the ends from getting dry and dull. Do you leave this mixture in, or rinse it out? I just re-read your post, and see that it's a leave-in conditioner. Just answered my own question! Thanx, Karen
  2. I had a terrible time with nausea and vomiting both times. I would lose weight during the first few months--moreso with the first pregnancy. I'm not one to throw up--even though I get very nauseous. But when I was pregnant, I threw up several times a day. I missed my grandfather's funeral due to the fact that I was so nauseated and never could predict...
  3. The news gets better and better.....
  4. Sherri--I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better! That's great.
  5. Judy--you're so cute Not sure how much wisdom you'll get out of me--definately a lot of yapping.....
  6. Vincent--I think it's so thoughtful of you to post the updates here as well as in Tanya's thread. You're the bestest
  7. I'm pretty trusting , but I wouldn't chance it. Those little crumbs go everywhere, and wouldn't have to travel too far to land in the slot on "your" side. I'd get a whole separate toaster.
  8. Franceen, It's the Heinz 57 *sauce* that is not gluten-free. The number "57" is on the label of the ketchups--even the safe ones.
  9. I look at comercials for the Tide w/Downy, or some of the new detergents scented with lavendar and think it would be nice to be able to use those , but I don't dare I'm actually using the All F&C now, as sometimes the stores here don't stock the Purex one.
  10. Debbie--Thanks for explaining that. I also had the hypothyroid symptoms, that were improved by the gluten-free diet, but not eliminated. I recently had a new set of blood work done, including TSH, T3 and T4. Everything was normal. Ravenwood--That was a great article. I have neuropothy that improved to a point on the diet, but has since stayed the...
  11. Welcome aboard! We can learn from each other
  12. I have definately reacted to laundry detergents. It may not have always been gluten, but something in the perfumes, etc. Thanks for the info about Arm and Hammer! I use Purex Free and Clear, also, and have no more "itchies" If necessary, I also have used All Free and Clear, which is also good.
  13. No problem! Welcome to the board.
  14. Shady business is what I thought, too when I was at one of their stores recently. My husband loves their truffles, so we went in to buy some. I walked around and read labels to see if there was anything I would be able to eat. On several packages, I saw "may contain other allergens". Needless to say, no treat for me there!
  15. Hi--I have pinned your topic in "Celiac Disease--Coping With". Just a gentle reminder, in the future, you only need to post a new topic once--it will be placed in the proper forum as soon as a moderator reads it. Sometimes, it takes a little while, because we're not on the board all the time. You can always go to "View New Posts" to see your topic.
  16. THIS IS A DUPLICATE POST--PLEASE REPLY HERE-- Open Original Shared Link
  17. I actually thought about Megan this morning as soon as I woke up. Last night, I told my husband all about her and what they have been going thru. The surgery will, no doubt, take several hours--is that right Vncent?
  18. Hi KrisT--welcome to the board I'm sorry that you've had to endure so much. Honestly, I don't know anything about the test you talked about--I've heard of it, but don't know if it's reliable or not. If you truly can not be tested, you could go gluten-free and see if it helps your symptoms. A positive response to the gluten-free diet is a valid...
  19. Ok---Cool!
  20. I didn't know that! I guess as long as I hadn't taken a Claritan that day, it would be ok to try. I wouldn't mind something to take the edge off.
  21. Lisa--Andrea had the latest list of positions/jobs--a bunch of pages back. I'm Vice President, work in the design dept., and help Andrea with the teaching (specializing in the teenagers). I seem to be a lot more productive in R'ville than I am here in NJ!
  22. Thanks so much, Vincent
  23. I don't have a solution, but if it's any comfort, I have the same problem. When I'm glutened, I fall asleep fine, but then I'm awake every couple of hours all night. I can't seem to get comfortable, get very hot, and just toss and turn a lot. I'm also worth nothing the next day--just tired and out of it. I have not tried taking anything for it--I'm kinda...
  24. Hi Christian--The majority of the time, the ingredients will be in plain English. The most common ones in personal care products are wheat starch, wheat germ oil, etc. and oat. Natural flavorings should be checked out--any time you're in doubt, call the 800 # on the label. If it's a long list, I read it from the top down and again from the bottom up to...
  25. Good luck tomorrow, little one. I've said all along that you were a trooper! My prayers will be with you and your family.
