  1. Hi Bev--I am one of the few that took the metronidazole and had no problem with it. It was years ago, and I remember the doctor telling me just not to drink any alcohol while I was on it--it would make me vomit. I hope your experience will be as uneventful as mine was!
  2. The SED is used to measure inflammation. It's one of the diagnostic tests they do for Lupus--my mom's was right on the border--one doc says yes one says no. Anyway, I looked this up for you to read-- Open Original Shared Link That said, try not to worry too much about this--just the Celiac causes some of the same autoimmune symptoms.
  3. Picard, What wonderful news--congratulations! Celia, my amazing twin, how do you ever manage to keep us and our stories all straight? You will make a great newscaster You are already a great friend Cissie--The Poland Spring is flat--just plain water (I don't like the fizzy stuff, either) Chelsea--This whole ordeal has been so hard on...
  4. Aw Lisa--don't be too hard on yourself--it happens to all of us from time to time. It's natural to have feelings like that--experience them, and then let it go.
  5. That was a very wonderful thing you did, Vincent. I know what you mean about the t-shirt!
  6. What I would suggest is to eat only natural, whole foods--meats, poultry, veggies, fruits, olive oil for a while until your symptoms subside. Then add in one other thing at a time--this should help you pinpoint what your problem foods are. The foods that you ate today, while gluten-free, contain many ingredients. It could be anything--the various grains...
  7. I get the hot face/flushing--but not as much as before. I know you were looking through your makeup, but I also thought of the "butterfly rash" that people with Lupus describe. Did it look anything like that?
  8. Yes, the Apple Cider Vinegar is gluten-free, the Apple Cider *Flavored* Vinegar is not. I've never actually seen the flavored one....
  9. Sarah--It's always necessary to confirm the natural ingredients. In this case, it appears to be gluten-free. I looked it up on their website-- Open Original Shared Link You just need to scroll down to the correct category.
  10. Carrie--I know things work a little differently there, but could your old doctor (where your records are) fax them to your new doctor? I recently had a doctor's office do that--the fax came in while I was still there. Just a thought. I'll be thinking about you this afternoon--I really hope this new doctor can get to the bottom of this so you won't have...
  11. Carrie--Good luck with the doctor! Let us know...
  12. Hey Celia--We understand completely!!! Enjoy that baby (I love that age ) and R'ville will be here waiting when you get back.
  13. M-m-m, considering I didn't *see* your post regarding the thread until 1:35PM, I must have actually thought of it all by myself. It's good to be useful
  14. That is where it is, I believe I put it here myself. Although, maybe not, so many and I lose track Sometimes it just takes a little while for my brain to warm up in the morning! Lymetoo--Just post where you think your thread will fit best. When a mod reads it, they will move it if need be. The new post page is just that, all the newest posts....
  15. I am someone who never burps--except now when I'm glutened. My allergist actually diagnosed me with bronchial spasms due to reflux! I say it's belching because I've been glutened
  16. Donna, that's so great! What wonderful news
  17. Vincent--We're gonna need a rule-breaker to balance all of the perfection we have planned! You'll keep us amused and on our toes. Robbin--I just noticed your question about Poland Spring. Actually, we're gonna need a good traffic cop because I get lost here in the thread. Anyway, Poland Spring is a spring water and therefore not filtered. A lot...
  18. Great work gettin around the rule
  19. (Raising my hand) "I"! I think Julie is the perfect choice--she has that elegant, regal look Anyway Rachel, you are president and would not have time to devote to both positions. I just found out that I'm your VP! I'm honored
  20. Hi Tiffany Your poor mom! Two things--now that she's been gluten-free for 4 months, her reactions to gluten are most likely getting worse. A lot of us with the GI issues tend to react progressivly worse to even small amounts of gluten. The reaction length of several days is not unusual--I begin to feel a reaction after only about 2 hours, and...
  21. Regerding the water challange/issue--I am definately feeling better since switching over to the spring water. That's all I've been drinking since I spoke about it here--about a week or so ago. For cooking, I'm using plain tap water--no water at all from the filter. Chelsea--it is a sad state of affairs! Right before all this, I joked that pretty soon...
  22. Hi Taz--Yes, you do need to stay away from malt. Malt vinegar is a definate no-no! It's most often made from barley, so we can't use it.
  23. Yes--It dosen't have to be complicated. List everything he puts in his mouth and include the personal care products (those probably won't change from day to day anyway). Also note any and all symptoms he has. After doing this for a while, you should begin to see some sort of pattern--trying to do this from memory alone is next to impossible--it took me...
  24. It took me about 4 months before I "turned the corner". My first few months were rough. It does take time. Your husband sounds like a wonderful person--hopefully, he will be feeling that way again very soon. Did you give any more thought to the food journal? I can't help but think he could be reacting to something else as well. Don't mean to harp, I...
  25. Ooh--thanks, I'll have to take a look
