  1. I think about Megan every day--so happy to see that she's continuing to improve! Tanya, thanks for continuing to keep us updated--I know you're busy
  2. The Z-Pack, put out by Pfizer is gluten free. I have called and verified this, as it's the only antibiotic I can take.
  3. I *think* that Donna lives in Rachel's general area. When was the last time Donna checked in?
  4. I just heard about that this AM on the news--that could be it. I, too, hope all is well.
  5. Hi Evie--you sound a little tired. Hope you rest well tonight
  6. Oh Lynne, I'm so sorry to hear of all this. I will say a prayer for you--sending a big hug your way
  7. Smashbox Cosmetics and Ecco Bella Cosmetics are also gluten-free. (Other Ecco Bella products contain gluten, but their whole cosmetic line is gluten-free)
  8. Hi everybody! So much happening to my friends here in Rachelville! Chelsea, I'm so excited for you I know that this is your heart's desire, just as I know that you will be a success. Picard, I don't understand that if your biopsy result stated that you had atrophy of the villi, why the doctor called it negative. Maybe I'm missing something...
  9. I don't eat the breads anymore, actually grains in general. But my favorite when I was eating it was the Gluten Free Pantry French Bread Mix. I mixed it up in my Kitchenaid and baked it in the oven. It has a nice crust and the inside was not dry at all.
  10. Hi Bev--Actually it does make sense to me. I would agree that normally, not stopping the D is best--it's what I generally do. I also believe in letting things "run their course". In your case, where you've had it for so long, I would be inclined to take the Immodium and give your system a chance to calm down a little bit. Wishing you the best--as...
  11. I used to get them from using sanitary pads, also. Now that I can get away with using the thinner ones for a shorter length of time, I don't get them anymore (knock on wood)
  12. This is it, exactly!! The only thing I can add from my perspective are the times that the sudden nausea and dizziness comes over me, and I feel the urgent need to run out of where ever I am so I don't throw up in front of everyone. The anxiety of that, and what GFP described is what has kept me from doing things that I used to enjoy. In my case, it...
  13. Great news, Carrie Now you can relax (for now) and get on with the wedding plans!
  14. Yes--thanks for the reminder. I have to admit that I don't check a product again after I've checked once and used it with no problem. I will make it a habit to check more often! Hope you feel better, Ursula
  15. Hi Ashley, I am sorry that you're feeling like this I also was depressed and had anxiety before I was diagnosed. After I was gluten-free for a while I started taking vitamin B6 and B12 daily. Slowly, the depression began to lift--it took time, and I still get anxious, but not as often or as severly. I wish I had more to offer--you know...
  16. Hi Mango!!! Great to hear from you. I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself--I know you'll find something soon! Keep in touch
  17. Hi Celia-- I got your sweet PM! I saw about the new storm headed your way on the news tonight. All I could think of was--oh no, not again! I pray that it fizzles out. Gosh, you all haven't even completely come back from the last one. I was going to send a PM tomorrow--we had people over tonight and I snuck onto the board for a few minutes while...
  18. Hi Ash. Two months is still a relatively short time. I'm a year gluten-free, and it took about 3-4 months for my cramping and fatigue to begin to subside. The intestines are healing, and I think that some of what you're feeling is due to that. The fact that your D has gone away is proof that you are healing. I would keep doing what you're doing!...
  19. Jen--I also had problems with that bread. In my case, I didn't think the problem was gluten. There is dairy and tapioca in it, and I have determined that I'm sensitive to those, as well as grains. Could there be an ingredient in the bread that you are reacting to? Just a thought
  20. When I get glutened (like now--and I have no idea how ), I get very nauseous. I ate a banana earlier, and some mashed potatoes. I had a little bit of steak for dinner--we had guests, so I made an attempt--and some plain baked potato. Those foods and tea are about it--and of course plenty of water. I don't stop eating completely because I find that a...

    ARCHIVED Books

I think Wheat Free Worry Free is a great book for anyone new to the gluten-free lifestyle. I have it and would recommend it. Another "must read", IMO, is Dangerous Grains.
  23. Jenn--If you've been gluten-free for 4 months, blood testing/biopsy would likely come back negative. At this point, you could have testing done yourself through Enterolab, or go back to eating gluten (at the rate of 3 slices of bread a day for 3 months) and then have the blood testing/biopsy. Actually, the positive response to the gluten-free diet is enough...
