  1. Here's a recipe-- 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup shortening (I use all shortening--dairy free) 4 cups confectoners sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup water, milk or milk sub Beat together, adding more liquid if necessary. You can make this chocolate by adding 1/3 cup pure cocoa powder to the sugar.
  2. It never fails, I go to bed, wake up and have almost 3 pages to catch up on! My body just wants to go to sleep around 10 and wake up around 6--easier if I just go with it Celia, I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. I know if I get glutened (even mildly), I have trouble sleeping. Did you have to use spinach? Susan, I trust you...
  3. On the right shelf, eh? Ok, you're hired. Andrea--where's that list.....
  4. Chelsea--Don't be so hard on yourself, girl! You have some temporary gluten weight that will be coming off very soon And all of those pesky little details will get worked out-- you'll be up to your eyeballs in garlic and saute pans before you know it! We're all pretty much "works in progress" here--no putting yourself down allowed
  5. Bev--Of course you're welcome here! We'll bypass the interview process, and go right to getting you a job. What is it you would like to do?
  6. Cool Whip is gluten-free. It does, however, contain casein. Could you be sensitive to that?
  7. Chrisser-- I am finding that I do so much better if I have some protein with every meal. The downside for me is that the only protein that agrees with me are meats and almonds. Without the protein, I get a little shaky, hungry, and mentaly fuzzy. I understand the boredom of having to stick to few foods--but you need to eat. I buy hormone...
  8. I know--bummer It's times like this that it's particularly irritating
  9. Thank you Erica--that looks delicious! I'm going to try it
  10. Hi Celia, Good to see you home in one piece I was wondering how you did. That's funny about the waiter--I guess he didn't quite know what to make of you.... Are you feeling ok?
  11. Hi Nikki--You sound busy! Hope you and your family have a great holiday (that's the right word?)! We'll miss you, and will want to know all about it when you get back I hope your husband's back starts feeling better. You did say he's to see his doctor soon, right? It's a shame that he's feeling badly now when you're going away. I know...
  12. No, I hadn't seen that site I buy mine at either Whole Foods or Wegmans. Not all of their products are gluten-free. If I remember correctly, the bath gels are not, and possibly some others. When I called the company, I was told that the hair products were all gluten-free.
  13. Judy--As Vice President, I can make decisions while Rachel is away! (I guess ) You are welcome here in R'ville--we must now find a job for you. What would you like to do? I've seen pics of your beautiful gardens--possibly a position with our outdoor landscaping group? I'm SO glad that you are kicking that PT to the curb! Who does she think she...
  14. Yes--I use Bare Escentuals, which is not tested on animals. I've used this line since long before I was diagnosed with Celiac.
  15. Susan, You poor little thing. I really do understand the years of damage to relationships that can result from this whole crummy disease. I suffered from depression, anxiety and panic attacks for many years. This, of course, affected different relationships in different ways. I handled myself a bit differently--prefering to retreat and stay away from...
  16. Gee, I've never seen a button Never thought to look
  17. Evie, Rachel's back! She checked in earlier this morning--she was having computer problems. She's fine!
  18. Tanya--I can just picture Megan outside in the fresh air, so happy to be home I say a prayer for her every day--and think about you all often.
  19. Oceangirl-- Sorry you had such a bad night. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon "PM"=personal message. To send one to Lorka, go up to her post, click on "PM" at the bottom left.
  20. Pacific Foods Rice Milks are gluten-free!
  21. Judy-- You are too funny! What are you doing up so early? You know you're welcome anytime here in Rachelville--drop by more often Although, catching up on the older posts will probably take till Labor Day
  22. Whole Foods here (In NJ) carries it. There's a regular size bar and also a larger bar. If you keep it in the shower, make sure that you put it out of the way of the water or it will get gummy and disolve faster. Otherwise, I'm finding it lasts a long time.
  23. Good morning everyone!! I woke up early and came in first thing to see if Rachel turned up--and I'm happy to see that all is well in Rachelville! I think I'll go back to bed for a while--
  24. Night, Ladies--I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open! Talk to y'all tomorrow
  25. This is a great, mild soap--very few ingredients Open Original Shared Link I've been using this for a while now--love it I get it at Whole Foods.
