    I used to always have really thick hair. Two years ago, just before getting my celiac diagnosis, my hair had started falling out. I ended up losing about 30% of it rather quickly. Now it grows much slower. Also, my hair is now very fine (almost like baby hair) and it is quite brittle.

    This is the first time I've used arrowroot flour...and I didn't even eat it. I used it to flour a board to prevent some food from sticking.     I had this problem for years.....in my case (I'm not sure if this applies to you), it was a pre-diabetic condition caused by my pancreas making too much insulin.     For people who are just curious (but don't really want to know the whole story) I tell them that it is like a peanut allergy. Everyone knows someone who is, or who has a child who is allergic to peanuts. Then I tell them that having just a tiny bit of gluten is just like having one tiny peanut.     You can do this (what's the alternative?). What it takes is lots of educating yourself on the ins-and-outs of this disease, and then you must be prepared. Always. Don't feel ashamed or embarrassed or sorry for having this disease. Sure it might be a bummer when it comes to things like picnics and office functions, etc. but that's all it is: a bummer...

    Hi, I had similar episodes a couple years ago that turned out to be my blood sugar rising very quickly. This usually would happen to me following a high-carb meal.     Anyone know anything about club soda, sparkling water etc, and their effect on celiacs? I've noticed that certain brands make me feel like death-on-a-stick, while others are ok. Perrier and a local generic brand seem to be the worst. thanks
