I noticed that yesterday one of my posts repeated itself some how and I could not delete it, I tried through editing. So, I don't think there is a way unless it is some secret method.

I have never seen "modified germ" I have seen "modified wheat germ". I personally would not use it if it said either. I have enough germs right now, I don't need anymore.

I believe acrylic nails are safe. However, have you checked your shampoos, conditioners, makeup, lotions etc? Also some nail polishes have wheat or gluten in them.

Not all Celiacs have DH but ONLY Celiacs have DH.

Oh, you are another Calgary resident. Go to Earth's Oven on 33 Ave in Marda loop they have some great different breads there. The Kinnickinnick rice/tapioca cheese bread is good and if you put it in the toaster oven for a few minutes it will make it soft so you can make sandwiches with it. Also the Kinnickinnick raisin bread is not bad and they have great bagels. You can get the bagels at Amaranth foods. I find the breads in Lakeview bakery to be not very good. Also Earth's Oven has pizza crusts and if you go to the Currie Barracks farmers market Terra Cotto has good stuff and they are Celiacs.

It does get easier to do this and I have to agree that most strictly rice bread is like eating dirt.

For me it was the DH which appeared last. If it was not for the skin biopsy and the DH I would have probably been told it was all in my head for the rest of my life.

No one in my family outside of my sister has been tested for it and that was only a a blood test not done the right way. After speaking with my aunt it is more than obvious that she more than likely has this. I strongly suspect the male members of my family have it but they are too large of chickens to get the test done.

However, I do consider myself fortunate because of my family and friends support me in this. Ten years ago I am not sure I would have gotten this support.

I replaced all my very old cooking utensils including my pots and pans. All my canisters are washed in the dishwasher so, that is good enough as they get sterilized in there.

I am with Ursula, there could be wheat or derivatives in shampoo, lotions, conditioners, toothpaste etc. I make all my own because I had many shampoos that didn't list they had wheat in them. I make all my own cleaning things, fabric softeners, shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, lip balm etc.

I order all my food without soy sauce in it and usually I don't find a need for it, if I do feel I need it I bring my own wheat free Tamari by San Jay.

The government has tried to prohibit many natural herbal cures and the main reason is because they don't get any kickbacks. Our governments sustain large monetary kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies, they get no financial support for herbal substitutes. It is the same greedy motivation that allows them to keep tobacco companies on the market. It is also the reason they don't present alternative fuels to the public and the price of fuel is so high.

We are fighting greedy giants that rape and pillage the land, at the cost of human lives and suffering. They don't care as long as their fat pockets are filled. That is also why they don't care about homeless people, poor people or anyone not in their greedy circle.

First, I am a writer of primarily fiction but I do write other things.

Now, the pharmaceutical companies will want nothing to do with Celiac Disease unless they can make a pill to push on people. I also believe there should be absolutely no wheat incorporated into foods that are not baked goods. MSG is another bad and dangerous additive that is not necessary. The use of wheat as a preservative and a filler will be the death of everyone. Over exposure to many things such as drugs, additives etc., can cause severe adverse effects on people such as life threatening allergies and other problems.

I believe we are the lucky ones, we know what we have to avoid while those who don't know are still being poisoned and suffering.

We need the medical profession to quit sticking their heads up their butts and to think outside the pillbox. Doctors need better training and unfortunately many are now in it for the money. In some countries doctors and lawyers are considered low income because they don’t get the hefty sums of North American doctors. I believe they are probably better doctors because they are not in it for the money. There needs to be a major overhaul of the medical profession.

Another source of problems in Canada we have the Canada Food Guide. This lists things like wheat and dairy that, you should have every day and is supposed to be good for you. Humans are the only animals that drink milk after adulthood. The purpose of dairy is to turn a 300-pound calf into a 1000-pound cow in a year. Obviously it is doing the same to many humans. These food guides should say that wheat and dairy is not good for all people. Many people believe these food guides and think they would not steer them wrong. People don’t realize that these food guides need serious overhauling and to do that we need to wake up the government.

Turtles also have an egg out this year and they are safe, I checked them to make sure they were.

Mine were not skewed. You would think that doctors would think; well we have these symptons and these diseases or problems go with these symptoms, why not test for all to be sure.

I am sorry, I was thinking logically again and we know that more than 80

% of the doctors are NOT logical.

The chef told me they would do everything in their power to keep it gluten free. He also said that there was gluten in the kitchen and they couldn't guarantee that there wasn't particles flying about. That in itself is would be truly impossible to do in a non totally gluten-free kitchen. I let them know that I appreciated him telling me all of that and they tried and were successful because if I had been glutened I would have been sick in less than 5 minutes.

Count me in on this especially with the last 8 years and more like for the last 30 or more. Maybe we should get doctors to use this as so many seem to be devoid of common sense.

I am going to my doctor tomorrow for a bone density referral because both my aunt and mother have Osteoporosis and I have back calcification and massive hip problems. My aunt and mother both have shrunk considerably.

The top two that come up for me are Lactose Intolerant and Celiac Disease, which I have both.

I was in Market Mall earlier today. I had to get some banking and other stuff done. I saw that the new Moxies was open and as I did not feel like cooking supper tonight, I strolled over to see what they had for me to dine on.

About a month ago I had written to Moxies asking about allergy or gluten-free menu's and the head chef said they took food allergies seriously. I decided I wanted to find out for myself.

Well they were so accomodating you would have thought I was royalty. The hostess went and got the head Chef who told me they would do everything in their power to keep what I ordered gluten-free with clean utensils, grill etc. and then told me things that I could have.

The wonderful young lady, Rebecca, whose section I was in was very dilligent and brought over the manager and together they took my order and gave it to the head chef, Ben.

Then the manager delivered the order to me and he and the assistant manager came by to check on me twice during the meal, to make sure everything was fine and I was okay. Rebecca brought me more water and checked to make sure things were going well and I was feeling okay. Then Ben the Chef came out twice to check and make sure everything was fine and so was I.

There was no rolling of eyes and they were truly wonderful,knowlegeable and pleasant people. That Moxies has been remodeled and decore is nice and subtle, with a great deal of warm and pleasant ambience prevalent.

They received a very nice tip from me because they went out of their way to make sure everything was the way I needed it to be.

I had the grilled chicken with pinapple salsa, wild rice with grilled red pepper and green beans. It was truly delicious.

Sorry this was so long but I just had to rave about their service.

Was the shrimp dip home made of store bought.

Do you have a lactose or dairy problem or even a red meat problem?

Did you check the ingredients of the applesauce and cocktail sauce?

What was in the mashed potatoes? Is it a packaged mashed potatoes or real ones?

Just things to think about if you didn't.

My new doctor is from South Africa. He told me what I told him about the crap from other doctors and my having to force them to do a skin biopsy on my dermatitis herpetiformis did not surprise him. He said that North American doctors are not well trained, the drug companies dictate everything because the government gets a big kickback from them. He was upset at the fact that four specialists refused to see me about my thyroid when I had obvious nodules and that I was choking, that I had suffered previously from the bad pernicious anemia with no real answers and that they did not really want to check out celiac disease and did the test wrong in the first place. He hates our system and their pandering to drug companies. He feels the same thing as many of us do why doctors in North America won't pay attention to celiac disease is because they can't feed you pills for it.He said if his family didn't like it here so much he would go back to South Africa.

I just thought stupid doctors was a Canadian thing but after hearing all of you in the US I know it is an epidemic in North Americal. It is too bad everyone has had to suffer and others are still suffering because doctors don't care and are too stupid to care.

Are you talking about chestnuts, they are in a shell? If you are, I think you only see them around Christmas. We only get them up here in around November and December. They are great roasted or even as a stuffing...I love them.
