I am in much the same situation as Carla...I have lyme and can't sleep, but need the sleep for my health.
My doctor currently has me taking several herbs/supplements: 5-HTP, Melatonin, something called Lymphasol (to help detox the liver) and he just added something called morinda. I take all of these in quantity (with my doctor's approval), lol. I can't say that they are helping more than just a little though. They seemed to work for a while, but have recently stopped, which is why he just added the morinda.
-
Well, didn't sleep well again last night and today bad D again. I may have to cut back on the chlorella even more. I took 9 total yesterday and that may just be too many. I'm also feeling slightly "disconnected" again and my neck and shoulder were burning (like a sunburn) again. That sounds like metals to me.
Last week when I saw my LLMD, he asked if he could get a report of my BioSET treatments. I just got my copy yesterday...kind of interesting as some things were not exactly as I remembered, lol.
My toxicity levels (originally 7 of 15), nutrient absorption (7 of 15) and drainage (1 of 15) are all now at ZERO (that's good--the lower the number the better)! THe organ most stressed by toxins was the colon.
Under phenolics she listed what I originally tested for and says currently "she has received treatment for food sensitivities and can re-introduce foods into her diet with exception to dairy, gluten products and moldy fruits." Bummer, lol.
Under Summary she lists as issues:
1. Heavy metals: lead and mercury
2. Intestinal dysbiosis: she needs to be monitored for levels of bacteria and yeast
3. Needs blood work on level of Vit. D...D therapy may be in order to combat osteopenia
4. Thyroid: needs to be checked as she was reactive to calcitonin (osteopenia risk), check to see if Free T3 is low, thyroid antibody presence? [NOTE: ART tested the thyroid as the most affected by lyme...my thryoid and antibodies have already been checked and are normal]
5. Urine esentials test recommended to quantify levels of minerals, amino acids etc. (she was reactive to sulfur, chromium, phosphorous and will most likely test low in molybdenum, selenium, chromium and glutathione precursors)
6. Mitochondria disease: needs to be ruled out. She tested outright on the Kreb's cycle panel and needed 2 treatments to overcome blocks in the Kreb's cycle. She may need NADH supplementation. [NOTE: NADH was one of the supplements on the original list of 8 that Dr. S gave me but I never went looking locally for it...he's pretty smart apparently, lol]
And here is the most interesting:
7. Lyme: Borrelia is the only one that came up with my testing signifying a weakened immune resistance against. However, she also tested positive for mycoplasma and sensitivity to insect venom. She was ART testing under Dr. Klinghardt's method and she tested positive to borrelia, babesia, ehrlichia and bartonella. Since she was in a hyper-reactive state immunologicaly speaking at the time, these could be false positives.
What the heck does THAT mean, lol. Could I NOT have lyme after all? Would a hyper-reactive state cause blood testing to be false positive??
Or was she just talking about the co-infections...we haven't blood tested those yet. I have some of the symptoms of those co-infections, but the symptoms can also be lots of other things. I've been having the night sweats again lately. And ART doesn't test for sensitization right, it's just looking for stressors.
Apparently I reacted to 40% of the mycoplasmas panel.
Get this...the insects I reacted to: ants (see why I like relocating them so much, lol), black widow, mites, honeybee, mosquito, scorpion, stinging insects.
While I've been stung by a bee, it wasn't a honeybee, and I'm pretty sure I've never had an encounter with a scorpion so how could I be sensitized to them. I've seen a scorpion...we had one in our house in Hawaii...but it didn't sting me, lol. Been bitten too many times to recound with mosquitos...the most recent episode in Panama Canal in December...got bitten a BUNCH so I can see how that might turn up and have definitely been bitten by ants. Don't know if I've ever been bitten by a black widow, but I'm suspecting NOT even though we did have them at my dad's house...I never saw one in the house, but they're in the attic there. I think I have them in my condo too (or more accurately outside).
SO there were lots of other stuff on the report, I think mostly all has been treated and desensitized though.
~~~~
Yeah Ami!!!! Sounds like a great appointment!
Sheesh on the scarring, lol. I've had two surgeries (one very huge scar across my abdomen--could that be why I have so many digestive issues, lol), plus lots of sinus problems.
Thanks for the info on the massage girl. Shucks...I was hoping she was at HN.Well, Casey at HN is very good too. He and this other girl are just about equal in my book, lol.
I'd go to Casey more regularly if my schedule were different. I think he only does massages on Tuesdays and Thursdays before their PT work day begins or on any day after the normal PT work day is done which is too late for me.
Have you ever felt that way about anyone?Oh, maybe a couple of times, lol.
Now, for Julie's idea of comparing where we are today as compared to the first of the year....
I think at the first of the year I was still experiencing the disconnected brain thing. I would lose track of what I was saying in mid sentence and sometimes couldn't even think of what I was trying to say. One instance of trying to say a word and having it completely gone from my head and not even being able to relay the meaning of it because it was completely gone. I had very bad D, nausea, spaciness and dizzyness, back neck pain, extreme exhaustion, various infections and more but can't think off the top of my head.
Since then, the infections seem to be gone, the nausea has gone, the spaciness, dizzyness and disconnected brain feeling are gone unless I eat something stupid, I can eat a bit more variety in my diet, and I was sleeping better until a few weeks ago.
I still lose my thoughts sometimes though.
I'm not taking any heavy duty meds (after the extreme stuff I took to get rid of the H.Pylori), just supplements. Off the top of my head this is what I'm taking:
Detoxosode Bacteria (Scott said this was important for all my issues including Lyme--this was given to me originally by Anna and I've been taking it since January)
Transfer Factor LymePlus
Colon Terrain
Molybdenum (liquid)
Liquid B complex
Sublingual MethylB12
Liposomal Liquid Glutathione
Adaptopath (just till this bottle runs out I think)
IBD-chord (again just till it runs out)
Chlorella (usually liquid, but it's getting hard to get which is why I'm trying the tablets)
Banderol
Cumanda (switching every two weeks between this and the Banderol)
NT Factor (for energy)
L-Glutamine
Alpha Lipoic Acid
IntraMax (liquid multivitamin, but I'm out now so am taking some stuff I took a few months ago until I can buy more)
CoQ10 (two different kinds)
Calcium (not much)
Magnesium
Lymphasol (for detox)
Melatonin
5-HTP
Pectasol (a modified citrus pectin to mop up mercury---started while getting my amalgams out and have just continued it)
and the new one that I mentioned last week and now can't remember the name of, lol.
Okie dokie...just mailed off my air samples for the mold test.
Donna, I'm sure that augmentin helped with the Lyme.Yeah, I think I was at that dosage for at least 2 months, so at least that period of my life accomplished SOMETHING.
Donna, happiness is a good massage therapistDefinitely!! Thanks for the links...got them bookmarked but will have to look at them later...they've got me busy at work today.
Had my first appointment with the dentist - future costs look to be around $7,500 all told - over a couple years.Sorry you've been having such a tough time! This is somewhere around what I spent as well, only mine was over a couple of months.
I thought I'd heard most of the local lore, but this hottie police squad is new to me. I would've bet the Ranch99 Market that the attack geese were more than adequate!! (Orrrrrr, are these the kind of 'police' who show up w/ boomboxes on their shoulders??)Nope, attack geese just won't do in this case.
Well, I did some looking around about energy absorption for you. Do you know anyone who makes you feel particularly drained whenever you are around them? They could be an energy vampire. This can cause sleep problems. The good news is, you can fix it.Clear quarts chrystals might be all you need. You either take some large ones and place for of them around your bed, or wear a small one on a necklace or something. I think this might also prevent you from accidentally absorbing others' energy. Psychic attack can be on purpose or accidental. Many people steal energy from others without realizing it. All of us are capable, but if you are a victim, this is especially important to take care of, before it drains your body and life force more.
Thanks for the info on cyrstals...I might even have a clear quartz crystal...don't know. Does it matter if it's polished and shaped or faceted, lol?!
As far as energy, yes there are people who seem to drain me. Fortunately I've gotten away from most of them. My co-worker is still a drainer sometimes though.
Donna- I'm glad you had such a great massage, not only relaxing but it is also very helpful with lymph drainage and the overall release of toxins so two birds with one stone there.Yeah...think I had TOO much of a good thing, lol. Oh yeah, used to like Billy Warlock.
Anyways heres a link to one of the Dr.'s (Dr. Gordon)....he uses the same approach as Dr. Shoemaker (author of "Mold Warriors").Open Original Shared Link
Then there is Dr. Marinkovich in Redwood City....he does injections for mold desensitization and that type of thing. He's an immunologist.
Open Original Shared Link
Thanks for the links. I wonder if Dr. Gordon is the same Dr. Gordon of the vitamins that Anna carries. Scott was going to interview that doctor and I think it was Dr. Gordon. I need to pick up that book (Mold Warriers).
I think Tom could be a support for you on this one! You are not alone!Hum, not much of a reaction from Tom on this one, lol. Maybe hoping no one would notice...maybe hoping no one would mention it even if they did notice.
Driveby premature post, lol. My wonderful day of massage and shopping was followed by a day of quite yucky detox/herx/stupidity/metal mobilization combo heinosity.
I logged on once yesterday thinking I could catch up and reply to a few things, but couldn't sit at the computer for very long, so just gave up and crawled back to my couch.
I bought some Sun Chlorella at WF on Saturday because I ran out of the liquid stuff I buy from BioSET...they've been out of it, and didn't expect it in for a while, so I bought this to try. Works really well I think.
The serving size is 15 200mg tablets spread out or taken all together.
So, just took 5 Chlorella pills Saturday evening...that plus the stupidity thing, plus the detox from the massage (and resulting epsom salt 15 minute bath soak) started things off...I couldn't sleep Saturday night and was awake much of the night with nausea....woke up yesterday with really bad D and was so dizzy I could hardly walk straight...that old disconnected brain thing was back.
The good news is that I slept WONDERFULLY well last night...still woke up a couple of times, but fell right back to sleep, and even slept until my alarm went off at 4:20....I NEVER sleep til my alarm goes off, lol. If I didn't have to work today, I think I may have slept until 5 or maybe even 6!
I've reduced the number of chlorella pills I'm taking down to 3 at one time and so far today I'm feeling okay. I brought 3 more to take at lunch. Just had the D this morning, but it's not like yesterday, and so far no disconnected brain feeling, although my arm feels like it has a sunburn again.
I did see one question yesterday while browsing (that I actually remember)
...
Rachel, the girl I saw on Saturday was at the Willow Glen place...she's right up there with the PT guy who is at HN (there's only a guy now at HN...the girl who USED to do massages at HN moved out of state).
Okay, off to catch up.
-
Well today I had what was quite possibly one of the best massages I have ever had. This girl was good. I was scheduled with the girl I usually see, but they called me Thursday evening to say that she has decided to not come back (she's going to pursue opthamology...what a change, lol). Anyway, the girl I had today was the one who did the hot stone massage last month for me. Today she did a deep tissue massage, and she is right up there with my PT guy. He knows my body pretty well because I saw him 3 times a week for quite a while for my physical therapy...this girl was just about as good, and this ws the first time she's done deep tissue on me. So right now Donna has some pretty good range of motion without pain in her neck.
Came home after that and had myself a nice epsom salt bath soak.
Claire (our favorite little granola, lol), sounds like your retreat is going very well.
I have not had the chance to play with jewels yet. I am working on designing some stencils for nails.I finally found some striping tape, so now I can make straight lines...can't draw those to save my life, lol.
Hey, watch out...some of those lizards can be little terrors, lol.
I have a kind of random question. I am going for skin testing in a week or two. If we find out I have a mold allergy, and it is in our building...what do we do? Can I take something for it. We don't know if we can really move since we have wayyyy too many hospital and other medical bills. Any ideas?Well, I know that I wasn't given much instruction when I tested positive (by skin scratch) in 2002. My doctor basically just told me to avoid certain fruits, fermented foods/drinks, fungi (like mushrooms), cheese, etc. Basically he put me on an anti-candida diet. He said virtually nothing about my environment. He put me on allergy shots, which contain the stuff I'm allergic too. He retired and I'm seeing the allergist who took over his practice, but they also didn't say anything about environment.
It was my lyme doctor who tested me for mold toxicity and found that I have it. This was via blood test, not skin test. He would like me to move, but I own my condo and just can't afford to move. The next best thing he wants me to do is get rid of my carpet which is very old. I really can't afford to do that either, but at least that would be cheaper than moving, lol. The other thing he said to do is get rid of curtains and dust catchers.
Course, all that can't be done if you're renting. One of my other doctors asked if my lyme doctor had put me on "x" (sorry can't remember the name) for the mold toxicity. He hadn't, but apparently there IS something they can give you for it. I'll have to ask again when I see this other doctor. I didn't ask any questions about it, so don't know in what instances it would be given...I suspect if my lyme doctor didn't mention it, he thinks I can't handle it right now.
susie kind of has a.......boyfriend!!!!and is spending time in real life. Not much time to read or post.....darling Jin, I look to YOU to catch me up on things in your fab recaps!!!
No, no NO!!! You canNOT leave us hanging. What is up with you and Rachel dropping these little teasers and then running away. Harumph!!!
Did you say you had a chi machine? DO you find its helpful. I am debating about either getting that or a mini tramp- which do you think would be better?Hope your new remedy helps you!!! Re the chi machine vs the rebounder...I don't know much about the chi machine, but I would think that as bad as you feel most of the time, the chi machine might be better....like Rachel said the other day...all you have to do is lay there, lol, so you can use it even if you're feeling really crummy. I know that when I'm feeling really bad, it's really hard to get on the rebounder, and if I manage to do so, I can't stay on long.
I slept till 5:30 this morning ... I wasn't happy about waking up that early, but it's a significant improvement over before.Hum, I slept okay again, but woke up at 4:00! Stupid early morning hours, lol!
Did I mention that my doc increased my amoxy? By 2 grams per day!!!WOW!!! That's a lot. I know at the end of the 3 year cycle of sinus infections I was taking 4 grams of augmenton each day...didn't help the "sinus infections" but I'm thinking maybe that did SOMETHING to the lyme, lol.
-
Donna, remember, you get what you pay for!
Yes, THAT thought had crossed my mind.
-
okayyyyyyyy....once again........completely confused about WTH this is......
THIS IS THE SILLY YAK THREAD!!!! Remember, where Silly Yaks come to let their hair down? Not stress our brain!! please, no inside jokes from other threads or towns? I am not a Lyme brain OR a Dingo brain, and cannot follow..........
Please Tom, eat some soy!
harrumph
Sorry for the interruption...back to your regularly scheduled silly yak thread.
LOL no Donna I wasn't referring to your single pkg (probably a measly 6-8oz over days, I think)
2 days...actually a day and a half.
That went fine too, both in cooking and drinking. So yesterday, I bought more!See how easy it begins!
P.S. Hey Donna!!! Still scared about someone tuning-up/fixing your PC for free? <shudder>Yup!
-
Looks like we have the same bday!!! Happy bday to you!
ptkds
Happy Birthday!!!!
-
I'm pretty sure I'm eating enough FIGS!
Yeah, something tells me that just isn't a problem for you.
The mini tramps are good to have for low energy times, it's even effective to just sit on it and bounce with your bum. And ah yes Andrea the kids love them, couldn't keep my nieces off it so I had to hide itLOVE my mini trampoline...been using it every day now for about 4 weeks.
Donna, I was going to ask yesterday if said hottie happened to be a police officer, you beat me to it
I can't remember simple words most of the time, but this I can remember.
-
I'm real sure u didn't read what I was referring to. It was completely impulsive, and definitely not a test.
Busted.
-
Happy Birthday!!!!
-
Well, I slept better too last night...didn't wake up the first time until after midnight, which gave me at least 3.5 hours of good sleep...went to the restroom then fell back asleep until around 3:00 ish. Didn't go back to sleep after that, but at least it's better than it has been. I still feel exhausted and sleep deprived (I don't think I sleep soundly even when I do sleep)...from past experience, I won't catch up, but if I can sleep like this for a few days in a row I'll start to feel a bit better.
Oh Ami, this new approach sounds wonderful! Much better! I think it's really important to supplement while you're doing the removals, so I'm happy the new doc will be involved.
This all seems to be working ... I'd say I'm 80%, my intestines are doing much, much better on these herbs/probiotics for the dysbiosis, and I only drop down to 50% during a herx. That's a far cry from where I was in January.This is fantastic!!!! I'm so thrilled! Gives me hope because I think your percentage was much less than mine has ever been and you're now so much better. My doc was thrilled when I said I was 60%....he might even dance if I came in and said I was 80%.
I'm on my way to the Whole Foods celiac/gluten-free meeting. It's been on hiatus most of the summer.I have no idea what the topic is, or who the speaker might be - I just want to meet more celiacs!!!
Hope it was fun, lol.
Did I mention I met someone very cute yesterday??Okay, yeah good scientificness and all, but more about this please!!!
It looks like she's coming around the 15th but its not set in stone yet. They havent mailed out the letters yet...they wont start scheduling until the letters are mailed out. I called about it today.I'm on the "list" for new patients to see her, but I am not holding my breath, lol. There were a LOT of people on that list and they told me that last time she didn't have time to see new patients, so it's not looking good. I missed out on Scott too...by the time I talked to him, his schedule was full. I think I'd better email him at some point to say I want to be a semi regular testee, lol. Although, I feel like not a lot has changed so maybe there's no point.
The clouds have definitely parted for me and I am feeling great for the first time in a very long time...
Details about the cute guy? You remember my fascination with the hotties?!?!?!
I am so very happy that things are so much better for you!
Hum, Rachel didn't say if he was a policeman or not though...
The answer seems to be in the FIGS!!Yup folks....its almost like I should be having a celebration right now!!
Egads, who knew, lol!
Congratulations!
I will look up information on chrystals. Maybe those could help you rest and not absorb that energy. Perhaps placing some chrystals around your bed would correct the situation. I am going to check it out. I will let you know what I find!Thank you!
I know some of us women of R'ville have these eyelash batting worms. Donna, I think they especially like your toenails.Yes, my parasites are quite fond of my toenails, lol.
They probably shop at Saks.
-
Just a quick note, as I'm really busy and need to be out of town again for a few days.
The IGeneX test is back - as per my orthopedic. Their interpretation is No Lyme, but they don't fully understand -a 3 page report. They are supposed to fax it to me, but it hasn't arrived yet.
So, we'll see, so far so good. Bob
My report was two pages...the IgM was first...I only had two bands with IND on it, which is not positive by either CDC or Igenix standards, but my IgG had many positive bands...still not positive by CDC standards, but postive by Igenix standards. I gave copies of that to my "regular" doctor, who only saw the IgM report and said oh good, it's negative.
I had to tell that that I DID have a positive IgG. Definitely interested in your positive bands.
And to backtrack a bit, as a decorative toenail aficianado and long-time subscriber to Toenail Ornaments Extraordinaire, I can testify to any and all that Donna's bejeweled tootsies are quite praise-worthy!!!
Currently Magenta with even more jewels.
Aaaaaaaaaand, <sniff>, I'm so proud of you AND Julie for catching that Johnny Unitas reference!! Even today's greatest QBs are barely comparable. (Uh oh - perhaps an overstatement - Favre's best yrs come to mind)I dunno....Joe Montana is a personal favorite of mine.
I'll make it run better than ever in ANY program and I think make this pageloading thing go away.Why does this scare me?!
:lol:
-
Hehe "Ladies and man" made me think 'ladies and gent' which led to a laugh from the days of the majority gender of R'ville saying "men don't get to vote" and Donna, LOL
, calling me a Suffragent!! (Still lmao Donna - good one!)
And, by-the-way, you STILL can't vote!
Your days as Suffragent are NOT numbered.
Anyone know the travel rules for traveling with prescription injections?
I SHOULD know it but can't remember...I've been doing nothing but looking at travel stuff lately, lol.
Here's a couple of links from the TSA regarding special items:
Ami, your new dentist sounds wonderful!!! I'd see the doc at least concurrently with the dentist. I got started on a couple of supplements right from the beginning of the removal that I think that helped a lot.
When the treatment involves foods...those foods have to be avoided for 52 hours before...and then for the 25 hour detox period as well. HEINOUS!!!Egads! That IS heinous! Yikes!
Maybe this new supplement will do the trick, and you can rest for once! Let us know if it does a good job. I have another idea as to what may cause your insomnia. You said before you drain watch batteries, and that got me thinking. Perhaps you accidentally absorb energy from other things, and it keeps you awake. Maybe it is like when you do a Witchcraft ritual, and the power you raised does not get safely disposed of, it causes problems like makes you jittery, gives you a headache, or something else.I wouldn't doubt this one bit, lol.
Next step will be to not take any antibiotics one week a month, and see if I can still stay free of symptoms.Hoping that you can stay free of symptoms!!!
-
Aw Tom...stupid noodles, lol. How disappointing!
Have you called him yet?Not yet, lol. I figure I'll call once I get home from work...that way if he calls today I don't have to worry about talking about parasites if an attorney walks in.
If he doesn't call today, well then the attorneys are on their own.
I'm glad your landlord is concerned about the mold!
Then for my meals I take a meat packet, I take a starch, prepare a steamed veggie and a raw veggie, throw in a fat, and there you have it....a no brainer rounded meal.Hum, I usually just put all my stuff together, but individual packets of stuff would allow more flexibility, lol. Great idea.
-
I'm thinking maybe I should give up on underwear entirely and just have something tattooed on.
Nah, just go commando!
I did try it a few years ago, but never really stuck with it. I really need to though, lol, my house is a total disaster and every surface in it is a hot spot.
Hey Donna.....I found this in my reading tonight.
Open Original Shared Link
Maybe you should ask Dr. S. about parasites. If I'm remembering correctly...last year Scott had told me that he was seeing Dr. S. for metals and for parasites. I'm assuming that he must have experience with treating them.
The parasites could be causing the problems with "D" too.
I'm sure you could call him and ask him about it.
Yeah, I forgot to mention the D. We were talking about my concentration/memory problems and I completely forgot about the D.
Very interesting sites. Dr. S mentioned something else...I woke up this morning trying to remember what supplement it was he asked me about. Reading the articles you posted reminded me...it was artemesia (I think). He asked if anyone had suggested artemesia. I think that's the one... Calling him is a good idea, and probably should do it while I'm still reasonably fresh in his mind, lol.
and this quote from what you posted:
Most tests usually result in an unequivocal result, a 2+ or less. This induces some physicians to order allergy shots, regardless. These shots are absolutely worthless (and could possibly be harmful) to a person who has been heavily exposed to these mycotoxins as they are already in a state of toxicity. If anything, this could exacerbate the problem. Because many doctors are not trained in this field, they may try to "guess" at a diagnosis.Yikes, see, this is exactly what I've been thinking is happening with my allergy shots! I think the only reason it isn't worse than it is is because I'm only getting the shots once a month now and they've adjusted the amount they give me. My allergist CALLED ME yesterday to ask about my last shots and whether I had reactions to them. I only had redness at the shot sites for a couple of days, so she said she's going to increase the solution for tomorrow's shot.
Dr. Vikki at HN thinks I should stop the shots. I hadn't really reacted to the last two or three shots, but if I react tomorrow, I might definitely consider stopping them now that I've read this, lol. My allergy skin scratch test for molds was +++ I think, and the very first skin scratch test was higher than that.
My parents stick their heads in the sand. Since they are full of rocks, at least they go well together....
Good luck with the new supplement for insomnia! I have not heard of it. I was using a supplement that had passion flower in it before. I still was hardly sleeping. My Thyroid probably adds to the trouble.
on the first sentence, lol!!! Yep, just took my first dose of the new stuff. He said to start off I should take it in the morning.
This is what I keep hearing...plain foods. Everyone tells me fruits, veggies, meats, etc. Whole type foods are the best and I know that...but AHH!! What about those of us who are crazy busy and don't have time to make "full meals" all the time??I guess I'll get used to it. This makes me realize that people who have no other intolerances other than gluten are lucky in a way because it's wayyyy easier! Oh well!
Yeah, portability is definitely an issue. I also freeze a lot of individual portioned meals, then take one of them for lunch each day. Course, if you don't have access to a microwave while out, it'd be kind of icky, lol. I also eat the sliced turkey, which is pretty portable...this week I've been wrapping them in lettuce leaves. Not very exciting, but does fill me up. I'm starting to look at food in a different way since all has cropped up.
Ok i have done something very bad lately- i ate japanese food ( not a good idea for someone with parasites) ok so i ahd it once and oh my it tasted so good I'm sure it sounds gross to some people but I love raw fish!! I bought it and said i would cook the fish and technically it would be better than buying regular fish becasue sushi grade fish has to meet higher standards but than i brought it home and i just coulden't cook it - it looked so good. I said i woulden't get i tagain though or if i did i would cook the fish. Ok so now i havebought it multiple times and no i never cooked the fish.Ok that is my confession of the day. I only buy it from whole foods and they are so clean but i know its not a good idea . Although even saying that i know i may do it again.
Aw Mia, I'm so sorry the IVs are so hard on you!!!
OMGosh I LOVE raw fish, lol. I miss my sashimi!
Everyone: Update on me...I'm doing well overall and the lyme seems pretty well controlled again. Last week I had 2 "wiped out" days, so maybe it is about 2-3 days out of 8-10. Also, I have been able to cut back on the magnesium. Its at about 1000 mg now, with 8000-10000 mg Vit C. That has really improved the big C. Having at least small formed almost every morning. My sense is that cutting out soy has helped. Next week or two--I am going to retry milk. Wish me luck on that! Carla, you give me hope.Good luck with the milk!!! Glad the C has also improved, lol. I think I'm currently at about 2500 mg of C and about 1000 of Magnesium...I've been afraid to go higher on either one since I have D already, lol.
-
Donna, it sounds like you had a good appt.
My LLMD is concerned about sleep, too ... I guess it's important.
Adam started taking the 5 HTP since I can't .... we're BOTH sleeping better
... I think it's that the stuff I'm taking is finally working ... I still wake up and have trouble getting to sleep, but it's improving.
Yeah it was good I think. I don't see him again until December unless something changes, or I feel badly.
He doesn't think my sleep problem has anything to do with my blood sugar though, and I tend to agree...I've actually been having trouble GETTING to sleep since I've been eating right before bed, which is usually NOT my problem, lol. He's pretty sure it's the lyme that's causing the sleep issues.
So, ha, if Adam sleeps better then you do, lol.
I wouldn't doubt it, lol...anything seems to mess with my schedule.
Another thing that helps a bit is to turn off the TV at least 15 minutes before I go to bed. I've read that the TV and computer are horrible for people with sleep problems, so I turn off the TV then read for a little bit, then right to bed. I've also heard that keeping the room dimmer helps. I pretty much always have dim lighting, lol.
I keep a regular sleep/wake cycle even on weekends which is another thing that I've heard is supposed to help, but it doesn't much for me. (Although when I discussed this with my doctor on Tuesday, he wants me to lay in bed on weekends anyway, lol).
Eating turkey in the evening helps slightly it seems...turkey has the stuff in the 5-HTP that makes us sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner.
