  1. I am babysitting for the weekend and they live close to a Whole Foods. So, I think this is my chance. I get the girls (11 and 14 years old) and we head out to go do some shopping (gluten-free shopping). When we get there, I decide to go in the mini beer and wine store and ask if they carry gluten-free beer so I can buy a couple cases to bring back home. This...
  2. I've only had the canadian gluten free beer called "La Messagere". To me, it's a normal beer!
  3. Their website lists all ingredients and they also talk about food allergies.
  4. My doctor suggested Revitalx to speed up the normal bowel movement process. Was feeling good the next day. Took it for a month. Now, I am completely back to normal.
  5. Say that fast 5 times!!!
  6. Not 100% sure though. It is anoying buying all those flours.
  7. I'm not sure. Probably not. Potato starch and potato flour are not.
  8. Doesn't work for me either. My favorite brownies are the Gluten Free Pantry ones. My husband looooves them. He likes to top it with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Chocolate sauce.
  9. I think you really have to choose the restaurants you go to. I try to stay away from Italian restaurants. Outback is a really good place to go. As for fast food, Wendy's has a bunch of stuff you can eat. I like the cheddar and broccoli baked potato and a side salad or chili. I once in a while ask for a burger made with no bun. Eat it with a fork and a knife...
  10. I go to Chilis, Legal Seafoods, and Outback. I want to try PF Changs in Boston. We also have a Bear Rock Cafe now..the food looks so good. I emailed them to see if there are any of their menu items that are gluten free. Waiting on a response.
  11. I use extra strengh lactaid chewables all the time. They work great.
  12. The store I go to has the chocolate ones. They sell them like 3$ a bag. Very cheap! They only have chocolate though. Being the Canadian I am, I wish they had the maple ones!
  13. I take mine at Whole Foods. They bake it there. You can get it in plain, roasted garlic and sundried tomatoes, and raisin cinnamon. It's very good. Not sure if you have Whole Foods in your area.
  14. Blood test only

  16. Gluten Intolorance is a form of Celiac disease. Cheating once in a while is a personal decision. I do read what people write in these forums but I must admitt, I think I am old enough to make my own decisions. If it kills me, so be it. I will have died happy and on a full stomach. If people decide to engage in behavior that may harm them because of what...
  17. I do cheat. I don't eat a bowl of pasta or a slice of pizza but if there is terryaki ribs in front of me I will have one. Only one. I don't react like most of you do. I get diarreha once, after that, back to normal. If I take Revitalx right after, I usually don't have any side effects. No pains or anything. I, on average, cheat maybe twice a month.
  18. Had those pains once. It hurt so much I couldn't even lay on my back. They took Xrays and found bruises on the outside of my stomach. He gave me a diet to follow...just like you would if you had ulcers. He also gave me acid reflux medicine. Felt alot better in a matter of hours.
  19. Everything Peter just said is true. I also worked at McDonalds (in Canada) for 3 years. There is no gluten in their fries. On my trips to visit my parents, I always stop and get some fries. Ido not eat the ones in the US cause they make me ill.
  20. Newmans Own makes awesome salad dressings! Personnally, I love the Oil and vinegar made right at home...tastes so much fresher.
  21. Is there a difference? My doctor said I was gluten intolorent, and also mentionned I had Celiac Sprue? I'm confused
  22. Did your mom spend days with you when your were sick? I mean, my mom has seen me run to the bathroom like 20 times a day. She knows there was definatly something wrong with me. I got diagnosed after I moved to Massachusetts. I'm from New Brunswick Canada. Now, when I visit, She brings me to the Saturday morning market cause they serve a nice gluten free breakfast...
  23. I love the McCain smiley faces, and they are fun to eat. My nephew loves them!
  24. Malibu rhum is gluten free. I'm not sure about the Kaluha cause I had Starbucks coffee liquor and man it did not agree with me so I'm a little skeptical about the dark coffee liquors.
  25. These were my only symptoms: Major Bloating Gas and Gas pains Diareha Constipation
