  1. Another thing that you may want to consider that goes along with the gluten/casein/food coloring issue is improper digestion and possible problems with sulfation (converting sulfur into sulfate...which is how the liver detoxifies the body). A great site to visit is www.enzymestuff.com. Simple things like giving your child a bath in Epsom salts may help...
  2. I personally haven't gone through this because once I got up the guts to go gluten-free and saw the remarkable changes in my dd....well, I had no interest in challenging and then doing invasive tests in order to satisfy the doctor's curiosity. I asked them if they would work with me as far as documentation of gluten enteropathy (non-Celiac) in regards to...
  3. I never pursued formal testing for celiac, but I can tell you that once I went gluten-free, the difference was astonishing. Not only did I lose weight (which I needed to), but a ton of other symptoms that I had thought were "normal" also disappeared. I also found that avoiding dairy, soy and eggs helped a lot as well. I've stuck to the diet for 3 years...
  4. LOL! You do realize that you have let the genie out of the lamp and now you will be hard-pressed to feed your child gluten in order to do follow up testing??? The decision to go gluten-free is yours to make and considering all you've been dealing with from the pedis, I don't blame you for trialing the diet at all. In fact, that's exactly what I ended...
  5. I had to fire 3 pedis and a pedi GI when figuring out the issues with my dd. We now use a GP along with a homeopath MD. The homeopath is helping us get better, the GP helps us with diagnostics and keeps us in school. lol! Hang in there. Many doctors can be infuriating in this process. It's unfortunate, but don't let it deter you from your goal in...
  6. Day 3: Scaling and redness is definitely down. This is the best it has looked in months. I still have an itchy scalp but it's hard to determine how the Serralone plays into this because I made gfcfsf pizza yesterday and I know that I have issues with yeast. So overall, I feel much better than I usually do after the once a month pizza binge. ...
  7. Aleshia, I agree....the pediatrician is being stupid. You are paying the pedi to treat your son. And that has NOTHING to do with whatever tests you are undergoing yourself. Your son is exhibiting classic symptoms of Celiac Disease. The "gritty" stools....that's the manifestation of damage occuring in the small intestine. It has nothing to do with fiber...
  8. Yet another development....lol! My sister ran out of the Serralone and to fill in the window that exists before she receives her shipment, she had purchased another brand of serratiopeptadase. She adjusted dosage so that she'd get the same amount of mg of the enzyme. She called me this morning to tell me that the psoriasis is not doing as well on...
  9. DAY 2: Scaling and itchiness on knee is still improved despite a high stress day yesterday and one missed dose of Serralone. It's also still improved on the scalp, though still a bit itchy. Some of this may be induced by a major change in routine yesterday as I went back to work and spent the entire day outside in the garden center setting plants up...
  10. LOL! Yes, I feel the same way about that. That's part of the reason I got involved in ordering the Serralone....because depending on the site, I was sure to get either free or very little in shipping charges. What are the castor oil packs? That is a new one to me! And I am sorry that you've been stuck having to plow your own road through all...
  11. LOL! I have found all sorts of things in the alternative world to be mighty interesting at times. And yes, I'm sure that the first morning after using the foot pads, you'll be pretty shocked. You also just reminded me that I forgot to pick up the leftover ones at my mom's today. I told her I wanted to try them out and she said she had some. Meanwhile...
  12. Update: I took one cap of the Serralone yesterday and one this morning. Itchiness is down by about 75% and there's a huge difference as far as scaling, flaking and redness. Normally, I could pick scales off the back of my head for a full 15 minutes Today, the back of my head is barely itchy and there are no scales/flakes for me to contend with...
  13. Rachel, I will be looking forward to hearing how the TD-DMPS works out for you. I have been debating on pursuing this for my dd if the next set of tests show we haven't succeeded with the metals. I'd have a hard time believing that she isn't moving them out because so much has improved. My dd has matured so much in the past 2 years. It's hard to tell...
  14. In regards to my friend...I always find it amazing when the doctors tell you there is absolutely no hope and yet they still want to control everything you take or do until you're bedridden and on a death watch. What the heck is that all about? This woman beat amyloidosis 10 years ago when hardly anyone was surviving. She did it using supplements and she...
  15. In reference to the enzymes your Dr. told you to take for the fibrin. More times than not, nattokinase is offered. I imagine that the reason for this is availability. With serratiopeptadase, it just hasn't been available in the U.S. market that long. It is used quite commonly in Europe, Asia and Japan. In fact, in Europe, it is often prescribed by doctors...
  16. I know of two people who used nattokinase to help unblock arteries. It worked for them and came highly recommended but I definitely cannot do soy in any kind of quantity. I've been trying to read more on Celiac and enzyme deficiency and have found a few articles worthy of mention. It is observed that someone who is taking protease enzymes and...
  17. P.S. Throughout this post, I forgot to mention one thing about the psoriasis. My psoriasis started appearing about 6 months into the gluten-free diet. I then took out dairy and soy and it began clearing up but never quite went back to normal. At first, I only had a small patch on my knee. In the past 6 months, it appeared on the back of my scalp. ...
  18. I ordered the Serralone on-line. It's not available out here, but if you're out West....you may be able to find it locally. Mine is being shipped in from Texas at the moment. I definitely would have driven to get this (if it had been anything under a 3 day drive! ). I know there are other enzyme mixtures out there that contain serratiopeptadase...
  19. I use Serralone specifically as it's the strongest serrratiopeptadase enzyme on the market in the U.S.. It was recommended to me by a friend who works in supplement development and research. I believe that you're looking at 400 mg of supplement per day (at a minimum dosage) as opposed to 5 and 10 mg with other brands. I posted on this forum about...
  20. Yes, I set a goal of finishing it by Christmas!
  21. Well all I can say is that this experience has been very strange indeed. My original reason for taking this enzyme was to help break up mucous. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that it would touch the psoriasis...at least not on that dosage or for that short a period of time. A good friend of mine is on a severely restricted diet, undergoing chelation...
  22. I am not taking the enzyme with food. And what's really weird is that the recommended dosage is 3 capsules spread out during the day. The first 2 days, I only took one capsule per day. And it still made a significant difference. I then moved up to 2 capsules per day but could only maintain that 2 days as I was running out (plus, someone else I knew needed...
  23. Yes, I am currently working on trying to figure out why I'd be over-producing fibrin. And I'm very glad that you answered this post because I do believe that I will be finding my answer in your OMG thread...and I've been trying to read 5-10 pages of that post per day. lol! I only started a few days ago and I don't think it would help to just skip to the...
  24. Okay, since going gluten, casein, soy and egg-free, I have felt pretty good. And I have no complaints as to the intricacy of the diet. However, two things have been going on this year that I have not been able to correct. The first is two patches of psoriasis that I haven't been able to rid myself of. The second is that for the first time in years, I...
  25. Please don't quote me on this as I haven't done extensive research into platelet counts. However, we did go through this with my father when he was battling cancer. His platelet count was astronomically high at the time (following chemotherapy...this would not pertain to your case). I then read that platelets are very small and that there are many other...
