Thank you so much for your reply!!! I did not even think about looking on the FDA website. What they told me when I called was "it (ingredients) comes from gluten sources." They told me they weren't allowed to say anything more. I'm not really sure what that even means. I know that bourbon comes from gluten sources, but is usually gluten free because...

I am seeing a fertility specialist because we have been having difficulty trying to conceive. I am diagnosed Celiac and have been on the gluten free diet for 2 and a half years. Please note that I have had bloodwork done lately and have NOT been getting cross-contaminated. I am not asking about why I am having fertility issues, but about a specific medication...

ARCHIVED Fatigue, hair loss and latest labwork
BDD replied to Stacy0w's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I was only asking because when ferritin is low that you can experience hair loss/fatigue etc. even if your other iron levels are in range. This just happened to me so I thought I would share just in case it helps you. Ferritin should be above 50 to be optimal, not just "in range." I've been on iron supplements and much better now. This may not be your problem... -

I don't worry about the same facility, but I check if it is on the same lines. I think it is usually a good idea to find out if things are made on shared lines. And if they are made on the same line as gluten-containing products how good is the cleaning in between? Chocolate is a good example of this. For example, I contacted a company whose chocolate I used... -
ARCHIVED Ohio Couple Claims Pizzeria Sold Regular Pizzas Labeled Gluten-free
BDD replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Donatos has a take and bake gluten free pizza that is made IN A SEPARATE CERTIFIED GLUTEN FREE FACILITY with Udi’s crust. If one has Celiac I don’t know why you would eat a gluten free crust in the store (Donatos also does not recommend eating the pizza in the store for those with Celiac. They state this on their website). I have never had a problem with the... -
Does anyone have experience with gas-x? My gastroenterologist would like me to take this. Is there a difference between the effectiveness of the capsules vs the chewables? Thanks.

ARCHIVED Lactaid Supplements
BDD posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone use Lactaid brand supplements (original strength, fast act caplets, chewables)? I contacted them by phone and email and got 2 different answers regarding the gluten-free status. Thanks! -
I am glad your first appointment went well. Is this the same thing as functional medicine?

That would be amazing! Thank you so much!!! I am sending you a message with my email. Thank you again! (:

I don't know if they have them where you are but Target even has a brand of Ranitidine (generic Zantac) that is labeled as gluten-free. If it is not labeled gluten-free I always call or email the manufacturer. I suffered from heartburn for a long time. I would start with Ranitidine and only move to a PPI (like Prilosec) if that doesn't work. PPI drugs can... -

ARCHIVED Holiday meal at in-laws
BDD replied to BDD's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thank for the replys so far! @cyclinglady - Is some ham/meats not gluten free? Why should they not bake with flour within 24 hours? Can there be flour in the air if they are baking with it? Can flour in the air cause a reaction? Thanks! I am diagnosed Celiac and am fairly new to the gluten-free diet. -
ARCHIVED Holiday meal at in-laws
BDD posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
We are eating the upcoming holiday meal at our in-laws with the rest of the family. We have discussed cross-contamination with them, but I am still very anxious. How do you all deal with the holidays and eating meals at other people's houses when it is absolutely necessary? -

ARCHIVED Edy's and Dryer's ice cream cross-contamination
BDD posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am diagnosed Celiac and am really new to the gluten-free diet. I am confused about cross-contamination. I wanted to get opinions on Edy’s/Dryer’s ice cream (They are the same brand. They just have different names depending on where you live). I emailed Edy’s/Dryer’s and asked about gluten. They said that it’s usually only the obvious flavors that contain g...- 6 replies

I don't think it's available in Canada yet, but according to their website Banza pasta has double the protein of regular pasta and half the carbs of regular pasta. I haven't tried it yet, Open Original Shared Link -
