  1. I am overweight and celiac. I know for me, when I had the Enterolab test done, my fatty stool level was low (meaning I was absorbing the fat, and not losing it in the stool). This could be because part of my intestines are ok, while part are not. My damage could be localized to one part of the intestine allowing my body to absorb more food/fat/nutrients....
  2. I JUST got caught up with the posts (messages in my email, do you guys do that?? Man! That is a lot of emails!). Dizziness is totally normal for new dental appliances (along with fatigue, headaches, migranes, etc) because all of those things are affected by brain related muscles. And your jaw is right there!! Do you get headaches after going to the dentist...

ARCHIVED Celiac Sprue & Doctor Too!

Hey Russ! Nice to meet ya! Welcome to the board! I have never heard of the banana thing....but it sounds good to me. I try to avoid them simply because of the sugar content. I am overweight, one of the "rare" celiacs (according to many docs), so I am watching my sugar these days. I am trying to remember your questions........ Oh! Taco Bell! I have...
  4. SILLYNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, got that out of my system!
  5. I am 23......and I am interested to see what causes them, but no eye doc has been able to tell me....And I wear contacts too.....
  6. I am doing that Dr. Natura cleanse right now. Today is my first day. I don't know if I have any "bugs" in me, but I do think I have some collected stool that needs flushing out. I figured this one looked good because many of the others I have seen are so intense that they are only 3 days or a week, and they tell you to eat a certian diet. This one is not...
  7. I don't know why antibiotics would help with floaters, unless the "floaters" were bacteria floating on top of your eyes?!?! Floaters are bits of junk trapped between the outer layer of the eye and the retna. In that area is a goo that is like jello. Once you have a floater in there, it is always there. It may travel out of your field of vision, but it will...
  8. Yeah, I did that about a month into being gluten free and ended up in the hospital because my intestines had shut down and I passed out at the mall. Guess I had lost all tolerance for gluten. Doc said that pasta is strait gluten, and shocked my system......so be forwarned. But I hear what you are saying. I went grocery shopping late tonight, and they...
  9. This may be a long shot, but you might be coffee intolerant...many things that "make us sick" can "move things along" because your body is trying to get rid of it.....that just a thought. Or....have you noticed that it is with a certian brand or flavor of coffee? Maybe try changing that....different coffees are cleaned/roasted/dusted/flavored different...
  10. It probably is the caffine, because there is much more caffine in coffee than there is in a regular soda (but soda's like Jolt are packed with caffine). Also, Coffee itself, is a stimulant. Like nicotine. Anyone notice how "regular" they are after smoking? (Not that I want to get into a smoking debate....no, I don't, and no, it isn't good for you, but nicotine...
  11. I did when I heard it! And yeah, she lives about an hour south of me. It was my first kitty, and I had no idea how I would react.
  12. I am glad you are liking the Bare Minerals!!!!! (Something, and I don't know what it is, is wrong with my MK. I DO NOT Think it is gluten! I have double and triple checked that. I have several allergies, and I think something else that I am allergic to or intolerant to is in my MK. I have been sick this last week (I went back to using all MK this last week...

  14. Yeah, I will, thanks!
  15. (Shrugs shoulders) I was on pain meds, so I was good! I was more uncomfortable a week later, like cavity pain, because I was out of pain meds. By the way, this was before I was gluten-free, so you want to make sure you meds are gluten-free! But the pain wasn't even memorable.
  16. Yogurt, applesauce, jello, pudding, I had anything that would "slide" pass my teeth!
  17. I totally understand! When I got married, my husband was stationed at Ft Hood, 12 hours away from all friends and family! And as soon as I get here, he is gone! So, I take a lot of long road trips! LOL
  18. I have NEVER had anyone at a counter tell me that their product had wheat in it, whether it did or not. I don't know if they were lying, or if they just didn't know (most often I think they just didn't know, and didn't bother to look). Thats why I use Mary Kay. They Consumer's Guide to Ingredients list all ingredients, and explain what the ingredient is FOR...
  19. Ditto, there are good-hearted people who have bad information (and I am not perfect either! LOL). Buy books, lots of books! Wheat Free/Worry Free by Danna Korn, Gluten Free for a Healthy Lifestyle (can't remember the author)......I have ordered a bunch on amazon and then lended them out the friends. Also, look for a local support group! There are great...
  20. Yeah, from what I have read, that is really normal (meaning it happens to a lot of people, not that it is GOOD for you!). Lettuce is REALY normal, and people sometimes think it is a worm or something (too many hospital stories.....). Corn is normal too, and p-nuts. Of course, if you have D, then you will see nearly eveything. But like angel said, some...
  21. I had GERD so bad I was on Nexium and Reglan (nearly throwing up after every meal) and refused a surgery. I knew it had to be food related, and got tested. Found out about Celiac, had those tests, and went gluten-free. No more GERD! Proof for me! Hope you feel better soon!
  22. I don't know anything useful here, just wanted to send you my thoughts and prayers (for your mom). Sounds weird, hope she is ok! Never heard of anything like that....
  23. That is so cool! I think kids are so open to things, and adults put limits on them that they don't see or feel so they get confused. But I don't have kids, LOL, so this is just my opinion based on babysitting and my friends' kids. Looks like you aren't teaching your daughter that gluten-free food is bad, and that is cool!
  24. I did the same thing. Then it was weird talking to my doc about it, because I knew what was wrong, and I had to convince HIM! (And later, a HER doc...). If you want the tests, then get back on the gluten so they can "test" you. For me, the longer I am gluten-free, the harder it is on me to have it. I got glutened tonight, and if I thought there was anything...
  25. Mary Kay mascara is gluten free. I use the Ultimate Mascara. It is great.
