  1. OH! ALSO! Some meds lower your B12 (like Metformin) so double check your RX's and ask your doc or pharm if you are on anything that will lower your B12.
  2. Snickers, yes. Orbit, yes.
  3. All optic solutions HAVE to be gluten-free because gluten is not sterile, and it not isotonic, as optic solutions MUST be! (meaning that they are the same saline/water ratio as your blood, so as not to change the pressure in your blood vesels in your eye). There is a longer, more scientific, more indepth answer, but it is late, and I am pooped (LOL) but I...
  4. I have always had them because of MVP (mitral-valve prolapse). My doc couldn't get them to go away after taking me off of caffeeeeeeeeeeen (LOL) so she checked me for anemia and found the pernicious anemia. After starting the shots (and now doing the sublingual) no more mitral-valve problems! I have noticed though, when I get glutened, they come back. I think...
  5. (PP) I have pernicious anemia, and took the shots (did them myself instead of going to the doc all the time, they taught me how, and I did it at home) for years, and then took sublingual instead. I would get bad bruises on my thigh, and my husband learned how to do them in my hip, but then those would bruise too, and hurt, so when I found a sublingual that...
  6. (I don't have kids...so I dont know if this information would help you or not, but I wanted to let you know anyway) I have enamel problems because of 23 years of undiagnosed Celiac Disease. I have had several problems with my teeth, including abcessed teeth and cracked teeth. I had terrible cavities as a child, and I do now, but things are getting better...
  7. (I didn't read the whole thread, so I am not sure if you replied later with more info..just wanted to throw in this info before my gluten-free noodles turn to mush...making dinner) My husband has latent TB. He will start INH when he gets states-side again, because the meds are hard on the body (so the docs say). He is fine. No biggie. I know you are worried...
  8. Ive done it, and I paid for it. Now, when there is an accidental gluten-ing, I feel terrible, and I remember that when I WANT something....
  9. Yeah, I actually had fluid over load the other day. I was determined to drink 64 ounces of water in one day, and it was down to the end of the day, so I sat down with a large water bottle and downed 64 ounces in about 3 hours while watching tv. I got a terrible headache and called the doc the next day. That much fluid (in that short of a period) was fluid...

    ARCHIVED Eerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Their information says that you must have had gluten within the last 29 days (or within the last month), for the test to show the antibodies.
  11. I have a note that says "(my full name) has Celiac Diease and must adhere to a strick gluten-free diet. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me with any questions." Signed by the doc. On letterhead. I thought I needed it for a convention center (to take my own food in) but they didn't ask to see it in the end. But I am...
  12. Hey Chelsea! Woohoo! 6 pounds! I am on (what is it now, week three?) and I am down 6. It is a steady 2 per week for me...slow as they go....anyway, I like the meetings. I get good info and ask questions. It also takes the stress off of me to weigh every day, cause I know the only one that "counts" is at the meeting. Makes me calmer..... Anyway, the activity...
  13. Is that for sure? Why couldn't you have gotten both from one parent since genes aren't 50/50? Its not like you are divided one half of you is your mom's genes and one half is your dads.... I have two genes, and I am pretty sure both are from my dad.....

Well, I hope so! That sounds great! I really wish you luck in finding what you are looking for (be it a good doc, or a diagnosis). And I hope you are feeling better soon!!!
  15. I am 23. I figured it all out by myself (with mail tests like Lame Advertisement and EnteroLab) and then took that info into my doc, who was actually very nice about it (and I didn't expect that!). HIS office screwed up the celiac panel, but he agreed with all of my previous testing, and didn't want me to go back to eating gluten to have more bloodwork done...

Man, I really feel for ya girl! I would consider going to a different doc. Though I agree with the above posters about just going gluten-free, if you want to know for yourself (and many people do) then that is perfectly fine! There is nothing wrong with that! Do you live in a small town? Is there a large city near you? A hospital that is known for innovative...
  17. (edit-duh, I was trying to type "what are some safe drinks"...man, I need to go to bed!) I know that there are safe alcohols, but if I am just wanting to order a drink at a bar off of the menu, are there any drinks that I can order and KNOW are safe (based on the ingredients)? Martini? Daqueri? Rum and coke? What can I order with out "reading labels...
  18. OOOOHHHHHH, well, then it is probably the lack of caffine (and the fact that the procedure alone is tireing! Not that I know from personal experience, but that any procedure puts your body through the ringers. It takes a couple of days for things to level out). If it is caffine that you want, and can't have diet coke, what about tea?
  19. Both of those will make you tired, especially the demerol though. How long are you on them? You should be "back to normal" within 12 hours of stopping the meds, but I am not sure if you are taking them for a long period of time.....
  20. You just want to REALLY talk to the managers about cross contamination....and the menu is accurate, it is reviewed by GIG and their stuff is checked out. I REALLY like the Alice Springs Chicken, and the ceaser salad (it is nice to know most of the salad dressings are gluten-free, just make sure they haven't been sitting "on the line" near the croutons...
  21. I love these....(I am going to have fun) 1. FIRST NAME? Tyler (then I popped out with an innie instead of an outie, and they changed my name to Tiffany) 2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? You know those little blue boxes? 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? I don't cry, I breakdown. 4. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? NO, I like my hand resting. ...
  22. I ate there when I was there in July. I got really sick and right away the chef did NOT come out, the manager came over, and he said he would "take care of everything" and that they had "rice pasta" and someone else on here said that they had been there and it was good, so I took a chance, but I didn't make it very far into the meal before I had to...
  23. I have the Rich Milk Choc ones all the time, love em!
  24. If you see my signature, I had it done FIRST, before I knew anything about Gluten, Celiac.com, or Celiac Disease. I thought I might have a proble with tomatoes (because my doc said that tomato and spicey foods cause reflux....) and I love tomatoes, so I wanted to find out if that was true! I saw an add for it in Figure Magazine, there three of their staff...
  25. Hi Laura! Welcome to the board! I think, and I am no doc, that it does say you have evidence of Celiac (gluten-sensitive enteropathy). But it also says that it could be something else (like you suggested, Crohns, etc). Have you had blood work done? The recomendation for "serologic correlation" sounds like a recomendation for blood work (the celiac blood...
