  1. I went to vegas in July and took all of my own food, but everything I took has something in it that you can't have! But I will say that the hotel (we stayed at the MGM Grand) gave me a fridge and a microwave, and worked with me on ordering from room service (I got hard boiled eggs, and my hubby would get steak and eggs and I would eat some of the steak...
  2. Did you type that? Or was that another board change? Man, this is really annoying. I can't tell if you are being sarcastic about the test, or if you are trying to ask a question about it but when you type the word it is changed.....anyway, I don't think the test will help with that....but who knows. Maybe when you eliminate food intolerances, your muscles...
  3. That is sooooo cool!!!!!!!
  4. Thats exactly what happened to mine! Hm...
  5. Yeah, it faded pretty evenly, but there is one chunk of blue that is totally gone. It is a star (for the lone star state) with a waving flag inside (so red, "white" which is more grey, and blue). The black outline looks great, but the colors are faded really bad.....after just 4 months......and if you know me, you know I am a flip flop person, so it is not...
  6. Hey Donna, just wanted to share. I have always had a problem with grinding (so they say) cause my teeth are really short and are not normal for a 23 year old (look like a 60 year old's, they tell me, cause they are worn down). I would have SOME jaw problems, but not enough to question TMJ. I got a cracked tooth a couple of months ago and went to the dentist...
  7. I am going to have the Lame Advertisement test done again, since it is just about a year since the last one, and I am really interested to see if there are changes since going gluten-free. I bet that being gluten-free means I have fewer other intolerances on the test than I did before....but we will see..... And did I miss something? (I thought I was reading...
  8. Chelsea! I didn't know you knew about tats! I SO should have asked you before I got mine on 6th Street in April! Man, it is in a bad place, between the ankle bone and the bottom of the foot on the inside of my right foot. Where ever you are thinking, it is lower. You know those little tennis socks? Totally covers it up.... The guy didn't say anything about...
  9. I had a baked potato there with the roast beef (check the ingredients on the package from the kitchen and everything) and got sick. I think there is just too much CC. I won't risk it again, but that is just me. There are sandwiches everywhere! Not worth it to me.....
  10. Well, depending on your definition of "complain", I would have to respectfully disagree. I think that it is important to say SOMETHING because if we don't, then they may not know that they are doing something wrong (like not understand CC with fryers or crouton pieces near the salad dressing). If they say the salad dressing is gluten-free, then many celiacs...
  11. Welcome back to the land of better thinking! Glad that is over with for you too!!!!
  12. Ok, so, I am quiting the cleanse now. My urine is burning like UTI, but when I stop taking the stuff for a day, then the burning stops (?!?!?!) so I am stoping the cleanse.
  13. I know this is "old" but I was catching up on some reading and wanted to chime in here. I had GERD so bad that after Nexium, Previcid, and Aciphex, I was put on Reglan (an antiemitic, for vomiting) because it was like throwing up after every meal! My doc told me to avoid tomato, and spicey foods. But I didn't think that reflux like this would creep...
  14. Oh no, and I don't want to sound like I am a professional or anything!!! I got so excited when I found out that they had a gluten-free menu that I went there to eat (literally) every night for 2 weeks. I got sick almost every night, and ended up in their bathroom for HOURS everynight (I react very quickly, sometimes within 10 minutes, throwing up.....sometimes...
  15. I do not know myself, but I can point you in the right direction: Doryx is made by Warner Chilcott (if you are taking the BRAND name, and not a generic) and their phone number is 973-442-3200. The line for medical related questions is 1800-521-8813 and is a Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30 line. Valtrex is made by GlaxoSmithKline and their number is 1-800-825-52...
  16. I just want to throw in that if you are going to have blood work done at your docs office, do NOT stop eating gluten! I had blood drawn, and then went in a week later for the results, and the lab had not ordered the right tests, so they drew again that day (but in the mean time, I had already gone gluten-free, because I had already had the Lame Advertisement...
  17. What they told me at my Outback is that it is a Seasoned Butter that they put with the veggies. The regular butter is fine. But the veggie butter is different, and is NOT gluten-free. Yeah! Thats it! (Just saw your post, LOL)
  18. Hey Lauren, ask your manager for the email from the corporate office. My Outback locally even brought out the email to show me and asked if Cross Contamination of the Cornmeal was even that big of a deal!!! I can tell that this particular outback is trying really hard to understand gluten-free...... so that makes me feel a little better, that they ask questions...
  19. Hey all, just wanted to let you know what was going down with Outback! I work with my local Outback (teaching the servers about CC and how to avoid it) and the drama is this : The Bronzed Chicken with Corn Cakes was (is) gluten free, but the corn meal, used in the cakes, is made in a facility that also processes wheat. When Outback discovered this, they...
  20. Just wanted to chime in really quick (and then eat my soup). I, too, was overweight pre-diagnosis. It hindered my diagnosis actually! But I ditto much that has already said here. And about weight loss, I lost 10 pounds easy at first, but then I found gluten-free brownies and cookies, LOL, and now I am back up to where I started, and doing weight watchers...
  21. Hi Carolinagirl! Welcome! My IBS seemed like a life sentince. Then I developed GERD so bad I thought I was going to die (often "throwing up" food after a meal, had to go on Nexium AND Reglan). I got an Lame Advertisement test for food intolerances that showed gluten. Through research, found out about celiac disease. You symptoms sound just like mine (though...

    ARCHIVED Vitamin B12

( I am not normally this short in my posts, but it is late, and I am on vicodin for dental work, and just killing time while my soup re-heats) Hi Shirelle, I had the same symptoms. I have pernicious anemia. If my B12 isn't low, then it is my folic acid (currently low). I take TriVita sublingual B complex (B12, Folic Acid, and something else......). The...
  23. Has anyone mentioned Scarlett Johanson (sp?) ? I hear her say on TV that she had a wheat allergy (though she was talking about rolling around in the wheat field with fellow actor in Match Point). Anyone?
  24. Hey AutemnE! I just saw your thread. I, too, am an overweight celiac. I am about 270. I have almost always been overweight. I lost some really quickly after going gluten-free, but gained it back (damn gluten-free brownies and cookies!). I am doing weight watchers now, and I really like it! It keeps me in check, and I still enjoy my gluten-free goodies! I...

    ARCHIVED Fam/nfp

This is what I am doing too. I went off of the pill in November 2005 (after 7 years). Though my husband is gone right now, we are still going to stick to this when he gets home. My period has not reached a "normal" cycle yet. I am anywhere between 28 and 60 days between each cycle. But I feel so much better about being in control of my body! And hubby...
