  1. LOL! I am going to be 24 in Sept, and I use it already. I don't want to have "more mature" skin!
  2. Oh man, that is rough! I am great actually (at least I am working on convincing myself that I am great!). How are YOU? Are you getting some relief these days? And not to get off the topic at hand, Mary Kay cosmetics are "hypo-allergenic" also. That term just means free of common allergens, and is actually thrown around a lot! LOL I have had an issue...
  3. Oh gosh Judy, that sucks! Do you have really sensitive skin? I have to be careful with acids and alcohols....
  4. I use Mary Kay. I used to use Eminence (all natural, organic, good stuff, VERY expensive, 54.00 for my moist.). The more I read and contact companies, the more I learn IS safe rather than NOT safe. You might want to "patch test" stuff on the inside of your elbow (recomended by a derm.) because the skin there rubs together, so if there is going to be a...
  5. Just a regular doc, and I didn't know you had knots in your feet!?!? Hope they feel better after your massage!
  6. I made several health journals while trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I would print out pages and pages and have them bound. I was showing these to a friend who suggested I make several and sell them and donate the profit to Celiac Research, and I really like that idea! Here is my question to you: What information would you want to keep track...
  7. I have a problem with high fructose corn syrup. It showed up on am Lame Advertisement test as an Intolerance. So I try to cut it out, but since it is in Coke, I am not doing to well.....I like coke.....
  8. I ended up not going. I had a doc's appt at 4:45 to check my Iron and B12 levels b/c I quit taking B12 shots when going gluten-free "cured" my pernicious anemia. Hemo looks good (13) and they have to send off the B12 test. Anyway, for some reason, I felt queeeeeeeezy after the blood draw, so I went to outback for a big steak. Yum.
  9. Well, I wasn't going to "call her out" but guess all docs can't be perfect for everyone. I am glad she works for you though!
  10. My uncle was told years ago that he had Celiac disease, and his doc told him that as long as he didn't feel sick, to eat whatever he wanted to!!!!! And I wonder why my father won't take me seriously about the diet and getting himself tested..... Yeah, one doc told me my grandmother, who died wasting away in a hospital bed from Celiac, had "real...
  11. I really like Whole Foods' bread too! I love the sandwich bread (better than any of the other already made ones I have tried, and I don't have a bread maker, and don't want to get another one, cause I already broke one of them). I like the regular sandwich bread and the sun dried tomato bread too!!! YUMMY!
  12. I take GNC vitamins because they say gluten-free right on the label. I know that there are others that are gluten-free, but these are cheap, local (not buying off of the internet), and work for me! Hope that helps. Tiff
  13. AH!!! Curses being out of town! I hope you are doing well! Thinking about you Judy! Big Hugs! Tiff
  14. Ditto. My first too, and I was happy for the info, but the more I read and learn, the more I think I don't like that book for newbies. She talks about taking the bread off of a burger, and I can't do that or I get sick, so I don't think that is good advice for all. I like Dangerous Grains, Gluten-free for a Healthy life, and Wheat-free Worry free, better...
  15. I did some research and found out that wines wouldn't "contain" gluten, but might be filtered through grains to eliminate sediment (for white wines). Some are filtered through coal, some through grains, some through screens, but not metal, because that changes the wines aging process. The cheaper ones use grain, but even that is rare now. That might explain...
  16. Go to the doc FIRST and have the Celiac Blood Panel done. THEN you go gluten-free, following nini's page and newbie kit. But you will want to do the blood work first! That is really important! (Because, if the diet works for you, and you need to get something else done later, and the doc wants "proof" of a gluten problem, they will ask you to eat gluten again...

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

Me too, and there is a chicken dish, can't remember what it is called, that is "dusted" with corn starch, so it looks like fried chicken, and it is a little spicy, and served with rice. I have had nearly everything on the menu, and I like this the best, because it is close to "regular" food, with the fried-looking-chicken!
  18. Yeah, my hubby loves Ramen and while he was home I got him to try one of the Thai Kitchen bowls and he really like it a lot, better than ramen! He is ALMOST gluten-free with me when he is here!
  19. Really?! I have never heard this, is this something you read or a doc told you? Do you mean that one might make you sick that didn't make you sick before? I am really intrigued! I have never heard of this!
  20. To add to his list, while staying at the MGM, I ate at Emerils New Orleans Fish House (a steak and potato dish that was unbelievable!), and Wolfgang Puck's (on the Casino floor, in the middle of the tables, it was neat), and at a sushi place, can't remember the name, like Shimbuya, and the chef was great b/c the sushi rice is made with a malt vinegar, so...
  21. 1-I ALWAYS ask for a manager, and sometimes, depending on the place (like an Outback) for the kitchen manager because they are hands-on back there. 2- I ALWAYS say allergy. No one understands the difference, and the few times I said "intolerance" I got "So, what happens if you eat it" and one time I told the guy, and he said "Sounds like a nasty allergy...
  22. I agree with listening to YOUR doc, because like you said, there might be a reason why YOUR doc wants YOU on that dosage (family history of problems/birth defects, other health issues, one really determinded doc, etc) and he/she knows you much better than the March of Dimes people! BUT (and I am just saying here, I am really not trying to start an argument...
  23. The first two sentences leave me confused, what do you mean? First you say that it is "not so obvious" why prenatals are higher, and then you say that they are higher to support the mother and the babies nutrition.....were you being sarcastic in the first line?? And it is possible to overdose. Overdosing on a vitamin can cause several problems, including...
  24. Did you finally find one that worked for you Girl Ninja?
