  1. Thanks Merika, there are some good tips on that site. Yes Exclusion Diet is what we tend to call it
  2. It would not surprise me if she is sensitive to something else as well as gluten, I though vasiline was ok, she didn't put any on today and seems better. She also had a mega shot of b-vits today. I really am starting to think that a total exclusion diet is the way to go for both of us although it will be hard when school starts again. I have a very old...
  3. Great! I'v given her a fizzy BEROCCA which has a lot of B vits and will buy something more suitable for her age tomorrow. We have been putting vaseline on but it seems to make it worse. I don't think she has been gluted but I'm still on a learning curve! Donna
  4. Hi Nancy In our family we have C rather than D but we all have lower right sided dull stitch like pain when not wheat/gluten free and terrible pain, like labour pains when going to the loo. Sometimes I used to think I would pass out. I put linseeds in my muslie now and don't have a problem gluten-free. I did tell my new doctor about Enterolab she was...
  5. My daughter has again got Cheilosis, very sore lips and cracks at the corners of her mouth. She had this a lot before Dx and being gluten-free but we only realised it was a coeliac symptom after I started researching celiac disease. I understand it is caused by riboflavin deficiency, is there anything I can do other than vitamin pills and increasing milk...
  6. Thanks everyone, I will post the results once I have had her tested. She is very creative and has always wanted to take everything to bits, perhaps she will be an engineer! Donna
  7. My daughters was scoped because of gastritis - she had terrible heartburn, gas, felt sick and a pain just below her belly button after eating. the scope showed her stomach was dotted with 'pre ulcerous' sore red spots and there was evidence of a duodenal? reflux. The biopsy was taken as these symptoms were consistant with 'early celiac disease' even though...
  8. English both sides, possibly some Irish way back.
  9. Thanks Vincent, I did try 'googling' dyslexia and celiac but didn't find anthing much. I am feeling a bit guilty about her as I have been nagging her to read and knew she hated it but it never occured to me that there might be an actual problem until she started asking to get her eyes checked. I get terrible brain fog too.
  10. I had to chuck out my shampoo because it had something in it that made my head itch like crazy, my sister actually ended up with chemical burns on her face from Clinque before we both knew we had a problem with gluten. I'v got to find a UK list of acceptable products FAST!
  11. Ah hah that is interesting, so the goats could be causing the rhinitis/sinus trouble? I used to be 100% soy but found goats milk/butter etc easier to cook with. Thanks T!
  12. Does anyone else have a problem with their child's reading? My 11yo celiac disease daughter is very bright but hates reading and her spelling is really terrible. Her verbal skills and art are very advanced, she is very good at science. This all the more noticable as we are a family of bookworms! Just about the only book she actually read to the end...
  13. I have started looking into this too, I have just chucked out a shampoo that made my head itch like mad, has anyone else in the UK done this allready and if so is there a list somewhere or is it a company by company e-mail & phone call challenge for January for me? My otherhalf is getting a bit worried about the time I spend on the computer these...
  14. Patti,It was just a big sunday roast really! My other half is a wonderful chef, he was in charge of the beef. My sister and my friend prepared the veg. I did the pudding, yorkshires, stuffing. roasted the veg. I really like to cook and find it much easier to cook 'from sctatch' than to pay HUGE prices for gluten-free food and have to then cook...
  15. Well here it is Patti, Smoked salmon with organic rocket salad from my greenhouse Home made Atkins tartar sauce, (mayo, capers, horseraddish, grated onion etc) Champagne ** Roast filet of beef Yorkshire puddings (white gluten/wheat free flour) eggs, soy milk) Stuffing: wheat free/gluten free bread, onion, celery, hot water only, and also a...
  16. Mathew, I have edited this message to include more on Asthma and less spelling mistakes, I was a bit merry when I posted the original message! Happy Christmas, from all of us who have found salvation ( on this site!) I also want you to feel better in 2006. Before I found this site My entire family were riddled with asthma, heartburn IBs-c, fibromyalgia...
  17. That is really interesting, I tested positive to casein. I had allergy tested milk intolerant so never have cows milk products (I get Asthma and itchy skin) but I have continued to have a small amount of goats milk mainly in sauces and goats butter. I have suspected something else was a problem as being gluten-free for a while now I certainly have some days...
  18. My 11yo 2 months gluten-free told her friends at school who would offer something yummy and say 'a little won't hurt' that coeliac is like a peanut allergy but kills you slowly........ I am so proud of her she was ill for so long she has not knowingly cheated at all.

    ARCHIVED Entrolab Results

I am still in shock! it feels like christmas came early! I am sure that most people on here HATE going to the Docs! I was also being 'filmed for training purposes' so hope that in my small way I will help to educate a newbie doctor not to dismiss dietary illness or make waste basket diagnosis.

    ARCHIVED Entrolab Results

I have just got back from my appointment with a newish younger female doctor at my practice. I have given up on my usual GP of 30 years. I explained that while looking for cooking tips for my D I had come across lots and lots of parents of coeliac children on this forum with the exact same pattern of illnesses and progression as me and my sisters, Ibs,...
  21. I have been 'googling' my HLA-DQB1*0501 x 2. I was just wondering overweight or under? Neuro? D or C? gastric issues? I would be especially interested in anyone who has managed to lose 20 lbs on the diet!
  22. It is normally just my hands and feet that are freezing. When I was working I was famous for being cold, I even left one job because of the lack of heat in the office!!!We are moving to France mainly because I can't stand the cold! I do find that if I take kelp tablets (3 a day) that my feet are not so cold. I wonder if it is the iodine that helps and...
  23. I am sick of Doctors too! but going to see mine soon with a list of tests suggested by board members. Also I have been looking up 'Dowagers Hump' mine is getting really bad, and realised today after gettng my Entrolab results and spending a lot of time researching that this is a big indication of bone loss. ... Does anyone else suffer from this?

  25. Thank you all for your replies, I am not at all surprised by the results. I am sad that I have been ill for so long with such classic symptoms. I need to make a list of all the other tests I want done now and I'm going to print out some the reports from the links you have kindly given. I have been gluten-free more or less for 6 weeks or so, and have...
