  1. My girls were both colicky babies. I used to want to throw them out of the window, they used to yell from 6-11pm every night.... I felt like the worst mother ever. After my tiny 11yo biopsied celiac disease in November I did Enterolab myself as I had given conventional medicine 40 + years without much luck. The rest is history! Donna
  2. My daughter gets kidney pain when gluted. We have had a neuclear scan of her kidneys today to make sure there is no scarring. It seems to be linked to bladder problems.
  3. I have also been virus free after years of catching anything going. I went to a wedding in Japan 2 years ago and came home pain free, 2lbs lighter and with no jet lag! aneome stomach and sake might not be my idea of wedding food but I did feel well. In Japan there are hardly any overweight people (except 2/3 teenagers we saw near a burger bar in Hiroshima...
  4. Hi Linda, welcome you could not be in a better place! We could be twins! I had to retire (at 40) from my Accounts Manager position due to my health. I'v also had accupuncture.I have been going to a chiroprator for 15 years he is the only one that ever made me feel better. I have a home gym which helps a bit. I also hate the cold, we are moving to a warmer...
  5. Hello everyone. I have decided to pay to see yet another doctor. edited
  6. Marcia, I'm glad you are starting to feel better. My brain fog is SO much better gluten-free. My energy levels have really gone up too. My Fibro pain is down from a 7/10 to about 2/10 most days too. I do have some outstanding issues I want to rule in/out thyroid (there is a lot of research that points to fibro symptoms actually being caused/an effect...
  7. I have FM too its quite a common additional diagnosis on this forum, but my pain is upper body, back, neck, shoulders. I'm Gluten intolerant. My sister has the same. My knees are stiff first thing in the morning and make a crunching noise going up stairs (not down). They feel 'tired ' and my leg upper leg muscels feel weak, rather than pain unless I really...
  8. I had never heard of any of the conditions so I did a quick google and was surprised to find that it could be linked to fibromyalgia and a dowagers hump (I'v got both) Open Original Shared Link I had an MRI of my shoulder only when they were trying to find out if I needed surgery for the impingement.(I didn't) and I'v also had radiofrequency treatment...
  9. I have been away for a few days, one quick question Thomas, I have looked further into the symptom lists and most say' abnormal fat distribution' but I cannot find ANYTHING on the net that says where on the body the 'abnormal' fat goes! Any ideas??? I am having my knees x-rayed on Wednesday. And have found a UK lab that can do the test. Donna
  10. We have hypermobile joints in our family. My sister is worse than me, she can put her hands flat on the floor when bending down. We all have hypermobile knees and elbows and shoulders but not really that noticable we only found out when seeing a rheumatologist who though we had developed fibromyalgia because of the hypermobile joints. some of my toes are...
  11. Thanks Sasha, I'm looking forward to seeing what is available in France. Donna
  12. I did have a fasting blood glucose of 4.6 mmol/L, which I was told was 'fine'. What are the other symptoms of PCO? I had been on the Pill like, forever, until I was steralised in May and the 'lump' of fat above by belly button has developed since then so it could well be linked. I had not put two and two together before....... It is certainly not...
  13. Lots of my Dad's family are very overweight except one tiny auntie. My family on both sides seem to be riddled with auto immune illness, many never diagnosed, I think.
  14. I didn't even know endocronologists existed until this week
  15. Thank you Susan, Nancy, Laura, Debbie, Joanna, I will print out some the references and book an appointment with another doctor at the practice. She looked at me like I was mad to suggest that a LAB test could ever be wrong..... Of course I'm a bit depressed, I don't feel well! She isn't totally convinced by the gluten intolerance but can't...
  16. Hello again! I am going through a very 'proactive with my health' i.e doctors are rubbish phase, I'm sure lots of you can identify with me. I have had a lot of blood tests recently, my doctor is humouring me at the moment, and a DEXA scan done (was ok) recently and was told by my doctors receptionist that they were all 'fine'. I asked for the actual...
  17. Carole, we could be twins I have been feeling exactly the same, I feel like I could do a PhD in Gluten! I am really good at keeping my daughter on the diet but not at practicing what I preach! I havn't tested soy but had been off it for almost 2 weeks until I ran out of rice milk, I had soy milk today on my cereal and it triggered a major binge (chocolate...
  18. These were pretty much my daughter's only symptoms, she was on Zantac, gaviscon and motilium before Dx and going gluten-free in November. She was constantly hungry but could only eat little and often. All gone now Donna
  19. Thank you Ursula, Your reply was really helpful. I havn't had ordinary tea for 2 weeks before today and I feel dreadful! And I'v been binging today on raisins, wine, grapes. I found a terry's chocolate orange in the fridge and demolished that too. I do seem to crave all the 'baddies' if I have even one so an intolerance would make sense. I think...
  20. Hi Ursula I have many of the same symptoms as you. I have checked out your links, very informative thanks! I have sort of been doing a detox/ellimination diet for the last few weeks. I have had some days where I have felt really well but we have had to travel a lot so the re-introduction and testing has been confusing. Firstly how many aspirin did you...
  21. Hi Thomas I use a lot of soy milk, yoghurt etc and have been cutting it out this week I bought Julia Ross 'the Mood Cure', as you reccomended in my Noisy Knee post. I have been reading the section on thyroid problems and realised that I have lots of the symptoms (especially cold hands and feet). Fibromyalgia also has many similar ones, brain fog, lack...
  22. I'm in the Uk, functional doctors don't exist! I feel so much better on high dose supplements. I have Julia Ross's book the 'Diet Cure' and felt much better following her plan. I have ordered 'the Mood Cure' from Amazon. Thanks Thomas! Donna
  23. Yes exactly bluelotus, a LOUD crunching noise going upstairs, not painful but 'tiring'. My kids hate it! Donna
  24. Tiffany, My older daughter (no celiac symptoms at all ) has mild chondromalacia patella in one knee after being hit by a car. her knees hurt and swell up occasionally, no noise and not the same as mine. I think you are right I should get them x-rayed. The problem with having so many symptoms/health issues is that the most acute get looked into as I can...
  25. Interesting, Did you sunburn easily when you were young? yes, I'v got very pale skin, still burn in 10 mins flat, also get a weird kind of 'prickly heat/urticaria on my upper chest. I did tan once (only a bit) in 17 days in thailand while still 'Atkins' dieting, no carbs/gluten & lots of fresh veg and seafood, I never understood why!Poor dream recall...
