  1. I found both the Manischevitz Potato Latkes to be gluten free, and the sweet potato latkes. I will be trying these both this year!
  2. My MIL taught me this one.. another super easy one. Put McCormick Broiled Steak Seasoning on both sides of chops, then pan fry in a touch of oil, flip over and fry other side. thats it. simple and tasty Tinkerbell
  3. If I remember correctly all Doritos are gluten free EXCEPT the original flavor. The nacho cheese are not gluten free. The rest of the varities are. I have eaten the cool ranch a few times with no problems. I think this is correct? Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong... Tinkerbell
  4. Good for you Becky.. I would rather shop at a place that knows their own products. Thanks! Tinker
  5. Thanks for the advice on the salad at the Olive Garden. I pretty much thought they were off limits for us too. I am so glad I can go there again. We so enjoy the sangria that they make there. It is soooo good! I would think we probably could have that? Tinkerbell
  6. I just tried the Ramapo Valley Beer and found it way too sweet. I didnt like it at all. I am trying to find out where in the area carries the New Grist beer. I want to try that one. Tinkerbell

  8. yes Laura.. I would soo appreciate your pancake receipe. I still havent had them as I have to go to the health food store to get the mix. I would love a receipe to make out of just the flours. Thanks Tinkerbell
  9. Thank you for your responses. I do already feel a bit better about things. I will try new things. I might find something good for me in the process. I just got so frustrated. I think it just came to a head the other day. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I truly appreciate them.
  10. I feel so defeated and alone with this disease right now. Just the simple things are no longer simple in my life. I feel like everything revolves around food. I cant go anywhere without first taking into consideration whether or not I can eat while there. I ran out of pancake mix this morning and to buy more I need like 5.00. Its so darn expensive. ...
  11. wow! this is a great thread... I hate having to check all labels before buying any food. I hate buying said food and getting it home, to find out its gross. I hate how much said food costs! I hate that my son constantly has doctors appointments just to monitor him. I hate that we dont make enough money to buy our own house. I hate that...
  12. I also ate the Activia yogurt with no ill effects at all. The only reason we tried it is we had a good coupon and it was on sale. I will be staying away from it now. Tinkerbell
  13. Thanks jersey.. I did have a great experience at the Outback. I had the ribs and they were great. I just substitued a baked potato for the veggies and chips. When it came time for dessert, I asked my server if there was a gluten free dessert. He said honestly he wasnt sure. He then went to find out. He came back to my table and told us the Chocolate...
  14. I was orginally DX in October 2005. I have been gluten free ever since then. I was DX in a hospital ER by the attending doc first. My GI kept sending me home on a low fat diet. Finally they all agreed it was celiacs and my biopsy came back positive. Now its March and I refuse to go back to the GI that I was originally with. He sent me home from the...
  15. I see all the wonderful ideas in this thread to look into for myself as well. Just a problem that I have is that I cant take vitamin B12. My body just cant do it. Even in multi vitamins, if its in there, I get sick. I know a few people who have this problem, so maybe its a problem for you too. Just a quick thought. I hope you feel better soon! Tinkerbell
  16. I am finding it hard to trust in any restaurants right now. For my birthday, we decided to go to a restaurant that we have been to before, but havent been to in a couple of years. I called this individual restaurant around 1pm in the afternoon, they arent even open at this time. A nice man answered the phone. I stated that we would be coming there on...
  17. I have to agree, that is a wonderful article. I just sent it out to my family and friends. Thank you for posting it, as I am having some of those issues now. It helps to see others that have the same issues. Tinkerbell
  18. Thanks to both of you. Maybe that is my problem, my sickness is making my hair fall out and such. I have sooo much hair its hard to tell how much is falling out sometimes. I will look for both brands of shampoos and give them a try. Anything if it helps me feel better! Thanks again! Tinkerbell
  19. I just found out I have the same problem. I just read my shampoo bottle and it has wheat in it. I dont know what to do. I really cant use the stuff you buy in supermarkets.. makes my hair fall out. The stuff I use now is 30.00 a bottle. I have the shampoo and conditioner. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to know. Oh and the brand of shampoo...
  20. I guess that the Applegate Farms is now open, seems like it took forever for them to finish that. Do they list the gluten free ice creams and such in the store? I always go to Freehold Mall, so I am in the area a lot and would love to stop by there and sample some. Tinkerbell
  21. I love Kozy Shack. My boyfriend is a dairy manager in a major supermarket chain here in NJ. He brings a bunch home whenever it goes on sale. I love it. The banana is especially yummy! Tinkerbell
  22. I wasnt mad at it until recently. I have been buying my sons baby food.. usually Gerber brand (I know I should make my own, but the conveinence wins most days) and most of it is gluten free, except for the obvious, chicken noodle etc. I got rid of all the gluten filled baby food in the house, he is to be gluten free until he can be tested correctly, maybe...
  23. OMG! almost everything was great there. I dropped $61.00 in there in about 20 minutes! The biscotti was awesome, I got the orange almond flavored, my mom and dad finished them off and they arent celiacs. The brownies were to die for! The linzer tart cookies were better than any linzer cookie I have ever had. They had another cookie there too like a...
  24. After reading these I dont eat anything too strange either... just tonite I had kielbasa with sauerkraut and applesauce. Its the sweet and sour mix together. My grandmother used to eat tomato soup on spaghetti and pork and bean sandwiches. My fiances stepfather eats spinach with mashed potatoes and ketchup mixed together. I dont think I could do that...
  25. Sorry to hear that Rad, that your cashews have wheat starch in them. BUT maltodextrin is a safe ingredient. Dextrin, unless you know the source, is not. I think that is correct anyway. Please anyone can check me on this.. I believe it is right Tinkerbell
